I'm not precisely sure what you're asking, but I'm guessing it's one of two things and I'll try to answer both. Why did he try to make sure Radiants didn't return? Multiple reasons. One, there seems to be some notion that if all the orders returned to power and prominence that it would somehow trigger another Desolation. The reasoning behind that isn't exactly straightforward, however when the Parshendi encountered Kaladin it kinda emboldened them to seek their old Gods' power. Personally, I don't understand that. As far as we know and the Heralds should have known, Taln was the only one holding the Fused back. Second, if any particular order arose, they might challenge the Skybreakers and prevent them from suppressing other orders and whatever else Skybreakers do. Third, supposedly Honor had a regulating role with how the Knights Radiant used their surges. With him gone, Radiants could do serious permanent damage to the planet if not kept in line. It's worth mentioning that Ishar was the one who advised Nale to take these actions. Why did he stop trying? That one you'd need to read Edgedancer for, it's answered in there.

Technically, all names are made up names.

There are various small story changes from the prose the the graphic novel version, mostly in the end though. There are also changes to various nouns unique to Taldain from the prose to graphic novel. The dialogue in the graphic novel version seems to be simplified/truncated in several areas. There is a third option that seems to be the least perused because it's the most expensive, the Graphic Audio version. It has the story and noun changes of the graphic novel, but also has expanded dialogue, character thoughts, and world building that is in the prose version. It is a bit more expensive than buying the digital graphic novels, about the same as the physical ones, and infinity more expensive than the technically free prose version(at least I'm assuming that's still be given out if you ask). If you're a diehard cosmere fan and like audiobooks, it's the best version of the story in my opinion. But, if you don't check both of those boxes, I'm not sure it's for you.

Twinborn and divine influences [Era 2 and Secret History Spoilers]
Harrycrapper replied to PleatherDuster's topic in Mistborn
I'd say it's not that Twinborn are special in a way that makes it easier for them to be influenced by Shards, but that Twinborn are the most useful tools on that side of Scadrial. Sazed doesn't have a Mistborn to help achieve whatever goals he has and dislikes using Hemalurgy. So, that leaves him with what Kandra are left from before the Catacendre and if he needs someone more powerful, Twinborn are his best option. Trell/The Set were left with the same options until they accumulated enough spikes to make people with three abilities. Though they probably don't completely trust/rely on any people with spikes. Sazed may not be able to control them, but Ruin was able to subtlety influence people and it's likely Sazed is doing the same to any people with Hemalurgic spikes that are acting against his agenda. -
Two things: First, the Moon Scepter that you are referring to from Sel was last seen in Hoid's possession and it's function is related to translating the various magic systems on Sel. I can't remember the exact explanation, but I just remember that it's supposedly like a Rosetta Stone for Selish magic systems. It doesn't seem like the type of thing Hoid would just use and dispose of. Second, the rust spots on the spikes don't necessarily mean that Trell is made up of multiple shards. Trellium is likely a God Metal from another Shard and using it for Hemalurgy is mixing the two Shards together. Using the pure physical form of one Shard's investiture to fuel the magic system of another. The difference between Hemalurgy as we've seen it and the Trellium spikes is that we've never seen Hemalurgy used with another Shard's God Metal.

Seems like a trick question. Vin was last see with the power of an entire Shard and killed another Shard. No contest there.

Most of the spren we see have had to make a transition into the Physical realm, which seems to damage their ability to access their memories. It's possible that because the order of Skybreakers are still around and can use their human members to recruit, the Highspren don't need to transition to find the humans to bond. We saw that Syl and Pattern were able to transition without losing memories at the end of OB, likely due to the Nahel bond insulating them from that in some way. Now that Szeth is at the third Ideal, his spren will probably be able to transfer without losing memories, but probably couldn't have before that. I'm not sure what methods the Cultivation Spren used to preserve some of Wyndle's memories, but it's likely harder than what I'm guessing the Skybreakers/Highspren are doing if I'm right about that.
-
It's also possible that some people who weren't allomancers were actually just mistings for a metal that Rashek/Obligators/Inquisitors kept out of public knowledge. For all we know, before Elend burned Lerasium he might have been a Slider or an aluminum gnat. Alllrianne's family might very well have had more allomancers than they knew of, just not of a known allomantically viable metal.
-
It's mostly Sel that has trouble doing their magic systems off planet, though it's still possible for them too.
-
Still not sure how that applies to Rosharans in a concrete way. It's not confirmed that the humans on Ashyn were there before or after Cultivation or Honor. They definitely didn't make it to Roshar before them, though it may have been simultaneous. Where are you getting that humans in the Rosharan system predate the arrival of Cultivation and Honor?
-
You and I seem to have interpreted what Khriss said very differently from myself. I don't have the passage on hand right now, but it said something like you said to the effect of "humans in all but two places predate the Shattering." I took this to mean that the humans on two planets were artificially created after the Shattering by the newly formed Shards. Also, there are likely a lot of places that weren't settled before the Shattering besides Scadrial, so I don't think Roshar/Rosharans were the second people that she was mentioning.
-
This whole situation has always confused me, the facts that we know just don't form a complete picture. At first, I thought that maybe the Singers claim that Odium is the humans' god was because he followed them there. But then Syl at the end of OB seems to confirm that Odium is indeed their(referring to humans) god. There are a few possible questions that raises. Did Odium create these humans like Ruin and Preservation did(I think this unlikely, doesn't seem within the scope of his Shard's Intent)? Or were they refugees from Yolen that had been following him post Shattering and at some point defected? Technically, Odium is a piece of what was once every humans' god, maybe Syl was referencing Adonalsium? Were all of the humans on Ashyn "from" Odium or only a subset of them?

Ok, I looked through the kickstarter from a browser where I wasn't logged into my account where I already backed it, just to make sure it wasn't hiding anything from me because I'm already pledged. There don't appear to be any limits on any of the 2021 pledge tiers, so I don't think they'll sell out. From what I recall, they placed an order for 10000 books before the kickstarter even launched. They were hoping to sell a decent amount through the kickstarter and would sell the rest through independent book stores and Brandon's online store. Well, they blew through all 10000 in about a day if I recall correctly, so the original 10000 book order has been spoken for. However, I'm guessing for the next wave of printing they'll order however many got pledged on the kickstarter plus some more to sell on Brandon's online store. So, I don't think there will be a limit on the 2021 tiers, the original limits were only there because they did a printing not knowing what demand would be. Just an FYI, you don't get charged for the amount you pledge until the end, so you can probably pledge now and cancel it before the kickstarter ends if you don't save up enough or change your mind.

These fights usually come down to a question of how much investiture is available. If the prospective Mistborn and Knight Radiant have realistically limited investiture(a few vials of metals vs a sizable pouch of infused gemstones), the Mistborn could probably outlast a KR. I could see a Mistborn wearing down a KR and maybe get a coin through the visor slot in Shardplate similar to how Kaladin defeated his first Shardbearer. Another viable tactic is breaking the helmet which makes the KR even more vulnerable. I also think the OP forgot emotional Allomancy, though I'm wondering if Shardplate blocks that. If so, taking the helmet out of the equation would also solve that problem. I think most people underestimate the efficacy of an attack via emotional Allomancy by someone who is skilled at it. Especially against people who would be unaccustomed to such attacks like a resident of Roshar. A properly placed Duralamin soothing/rioting could be devastating. If they both had infinite investiture, the KR would never die. There's no question to that, so they win there. A Highstorm would also skew a battle like this in favor of a KR.

It's the sapient spren that kinda worry me. Soulcasters and the Regrowth fabrial were likely made with Radiant spren like Syl who actually have minds. It never really bothered me that the mindless spren were used to make fabrials, but it definitely bothers me that a spren with a mind like Syl or Pattern could be trapped for thousands of years.

Was kinda confused for a bit there, didn't see anything about a digital Way of Kings Prime anywhere, had to go reread the sneak peak page on his website. Either didn't remember or didn't see that he's releasing a PDF and Ebook format of Way of Kings Prime on his website tomorrow. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

What Misting would a secret Mistborn pretend to be?
Harrycrapper replied to Oltux72's topic in Mistborn
It depends what situation you're in. If we're talking Final Empire era, Inquisitors will know if you're using multiple forms of Allomancy unless you can produce a coppercloud that prevents them from detecting you which kinda nullifies the question. So if you're only going to use one power publicly it would depend on your objectives. If you're mostly just doing political stuff, emotional allomancy is the way to go. If you have an associate like Breeze who's particularly better at emotional allomancy than you, copper might be a viable option for political work as well. If your political work is identifying other hidden allomancers, bronze is an obvious choice. If you're more concerned about combat/espionage, steel pushing or pewter burning are probably your best options. I could be wrong here, but I don't think gold mistings were public knowledge at the time so I'm not sure that's an option. So yea, there is no single answer for this, it's situational. If we're talking Era 2 and you're Mistborn, you're pretty much a god among men. There aren't going to be any Seekers that can pierce your coppercloud without Hemalurgy so as long as you can hide visible evidence of your powers, there's nothing stopping you from using them. -
What I always found funny was that Shallan herself said a couple times in WoR that she could be run through with sword and survive it but never thought that might apply to Jashah as well. As for Tien, it's one thing to see someone like Jasnah "die" but the others are right that Kaladin literally laid with Tien's body for hours. However, if Tien could make illusions and wanted Kaladin to believe he was dead, he might have made another person look like him long enough. I don't think Tien would have the motivation to do that and probably didn't have the requisite skill to do it either. Still, not a complete impossibility, just extremely improbable and I personally don't think that's how it went down.

Actually, what we know is he will have the flashbacks for that book. Brandon could pull another Eshonai and kill him before we get there.

That could be why so few reach the fifth ideal, most people who join the Skybreakers are people who know their own moral code is insufficient and they need to follow something external. You can't become the law if you know you can't administer it justly and fairly.
-
I think they're more useful than you would think. Having a police force that can't break the law without losing their power to enforce it seems appealing. Other Skybreakers would likely be compelled to deal with a lawbreaker in their ranks as well. Of course they're limited by the system of laws they're sworn to uphold, but that's a problem with any law enforcement agency, spren bond or not. According to the Radiant quiz info, one of their main duties was policing the other Radiants, kinda an answer to the "Who watches the Watchmen" situation. I'm interested to see what happens to them, I don't believe they'll stay on Odium's side permanently.

Shardblades and Nightblood are both relatively large chunks of Investiture that gained sapience over time. One difference is that I don't think Nightblood can transition between realms without a perpendicularity like Radiant Spren can. I don't think we've seen Nightblood cut through inanimate objects like a Shardblade can, but it usually just destroys stuff, so I'm not sure there.

I think Stump and Ym had to of at least sworn the 2nd ideal. Wyndle didn't seem to think Lift could heal using Regrowth in her first interlude until she had progressed. I think she had to swear the 2nd ideal before she healed Gawx. I know Lift isn't the same order, so I may be wrong there and Truthwatchers can do Regrowth sooner than Edgedancers. Renarin didn't get it until later as well, but like you said he's an unknown variable. I think Shallan is on the 4th ideal. She has given 3 truths along with the 1st ideal when she was younger. Lightweavers(Shallan in particular) are weird though, so the literal amount of truths might not equate to the level of ideal. Also, you can't inhale Stormlight without having sworn at least the first ideal, so Vathah is at least on the first. The one thing I've been wondering is if you actually have to say "Life before Death, Strength before Weakness, Journey before Destination." Almost none of the main characters have done this onscreen before infusing Stormlight. Some like Kaladin hadn't even seemed to have heard it before someone else(Teft) mentioned it. I don't know how Shallan would have known the ideal as a little girl, especially with a decidedly anti Radiant mother. Hoid didn't even say the full oath, he just say "Life before Death, little one."

The changes he's proposing aren't necessarily mutually exclusive with Vin pursuing Elend despite her true mission. In the proposed version she's supposed to be focusing on influencing Shan to take actions that will further the crew's plans and romancing Elend would risk alienating Shan.
