[Secret History spoilers] Did we just get another Shard named?
Blightsong replied to PallonianFire's topic in Mistborn
I doubt that Fortune is a shard. All other shards are personality aspects, while this one is a non-personality trait, or a myth (depending on who you talk to). It just doesn't seem in line with the text and makes sense in context as a Feruchemical power, or something similar. -
The Ire are Elantrians right? I'm pretty sure we just got a look at a society of them centuries after Raoden and Irene. Very strange, this novella is packed with Cosmere info. Edit: Did we also seer then use sine kind of AonFabrial? Veeeeeery interesting. It seems to involve geme stones, which reminds me of Roshar. Thoughts?

Iyatil's mask seems to be very similar to whet the Southern Scadrian's wrest for it to be coincidence, especially considering what we know about how Cosmere aware the ghost bloods are. I would venture to guess that the thing in the SoS broadsheet was Iyatil. What do you guys think?

I think the question everyone out to make a shattering theory should ask themselves is "Could this have happened to Adonalsium". We know that he was shattered in the same way Odium shatters Shard so I don't think intent had much to do with it, since Adonalsium had over a dozen.

Look at the descriptions of the blade Dalinar had and the one Talmud had at the end of WoK. They are different blades.

Intiation, yes. Initial investiture, no, or erm... maybe. We only know for sure that the gift of a divine breath is given intentionally by Endowment. I think, however, that initial investiture on Nathis is hereditary, as we see the Idrian royal line has extra initial investiture. Edit: I just remembered that only a potential heir to the throne has the royal locks. This proves Skaa's point further, although we still don't know for a fact, someone should ask Brandon. It makes sense that it would be a conscious decision from English though, she is known as Endowment. ..

Hemalurgic is DEFFINATELY a metallic art, but there is DEFFINATELY a possibility of another magic system that can do the same thing, if not something similar.

Not to mention the theory fuel this will offer...

Cosmere is what normal people call their universe in the books. It's not a "Cosmere-Aware" specific term.

It could be, but what's the fun in that

Just finished WOR. mind blown...and was wondering...
Blightsong replied to Spreadness's topic in Stormlight Archive
(Oops, accidental downvote. Please fix that for me) It's what we have seen so far, so I would assume that it wouldn't change from what we have seen. -
Atium doesn't actually let you see into the cognitive, only the spiritual. Brandon misspoke and said that atrium lets you see into the cognitive once but he corrected himself on another WoB.

It has been mentioned in various WoBThey weren't recharging constantly in the highstorm, and they were in the colliding storms, so the eye would look like a regular storm unless the middle of both storms were in the same place. -
Knowing what we know about Realmatics and what has been said about death rattles in the book ps and in WoBs we can extrapolate that.Edit: Went back and looked for a WoB related to what I am saying and couldn't find it. Take what I said with a grain of salt, but it makes sense realmatically.

Blightsong replied to Spreadness's topic in Stormlight Archive
Remember when Kal was in the highstorm in book 1? The sphere in his hand was only reinvested when he was in the eye of the storm. I'm also pretty sure that an Honorblade would be too invested to easily lash it. Things with investiture are much more difficult to influance with magic, and Honorblades are invested to the hilt (pun intended). -
Death rattles actually use up the souls investiture to power the vision. Kal's soul would have had to be basicly destroyed for a death rattle to take place.

I'm not sure Kaladin could find the eye of the storm to replenish his reserves and make it back before the lashings ran up. Number 2 also wouldn't work as the blade would almost certainly be lost in the storm by the time Kaladin could rescue Szeth. -

From that height, if Kaladin tried to catch Szeth they would both become mush, and Szetb would've had to go through a highstorm to reach the ground, which would probably kill him. -
I'm almost positive that Odium had a hand in the diagram. Brandon has said that if you mapped out the intelligence of Taravangian on various days there would be an obvious pattern. This would suggest that the Day of Extreme Intelligence was an outlier, which is very suspicious amongst a pattern, or that the Day was not even apart of Taravangian's boon/curse. The diagram also runs basicly contrary to what Tanavast has told Dalinar to do. All that, mixed with the obvious precognitive elements apperent in the diagram tells me that Odium pretty much 100% influenced the diagram, then wiped Taravangian's mind. I wouldnt be suprised if the diagram is written in Yolish, which I suspect is the dawn singer language. Even if Taravangian wasn't under the control of Odium when creating the diagram, he wrote all that stuff in a non-invested surface, meaning that Odium probably could have Ruined (in both senses of the word) what was written there.

Yea, I don't think that it is well known that the Shin have the honorbladess, and certainly Kaladin does not. I agree that it's stupid that Kal didn't capture Szeth for information on who is trying to kill Dalinar, but I can see why the character would go for the blade anyways. I don't think this is a problem with the changes however. Do you still think that the changes were that bad? I think I have argued my point sufficiently.Edit: On second thought, how the hell would Kal have gotten Szeth down if he did lash him up. Szeth couldn't heal, and even a rock hitting him would've been instant death. It's not like Kaladin can keep them both up until the storm is over, he wouldn't have enough stormlight.
