Well, to me that exchange seemed like another 'D1 argument that isn't too important' like I've seen in other games (LG66), and overall sorta pointless which is why it was weird you kept on bringing it up. Though I guess on D1 any exchange is useful, especially in a blackout game.

Ashbringer he/him Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Imagine playing this on Discord. We could have nicknames, real-time conversation, anonymous Emotes... I’d also kinda like to see how this group would do at Town of Salem (an online mafia-style game). It’s got a lot of differences but I think it would be interesting. As for mechanics, I don’t want to guess too much, but I have a few ideas. Mostly some that have been previously mentioned like roles with drawbacks. 2

Ashbringer he/him Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Faleast had a headache. He wasn’t entirely sure why. He’d just returned with the group from the infamously disease-ridden Ashyn, but he’d been in the same protective gear as everyone else on this... mission. He certaintly didn’t notice anyone exhibiting any major symptoms. “Can kandra even get sick?” he whispered to himself. Physically, generally only if they want to, came AraRaash’s reply. After a... mishap on Sel, it was Faleast’s turn in the metaphysical personality drivers’ seat. But these Ashynite ailments are different, the kandra continued. They are Invested, I’m sure of it. And I don’t know if I could recognize the actual pathogen responsible. Then there’s that Bloodmaker spike. That throws another wrench into things. ”I didn’t store on Ashyn. I know that much,” Faleast muttered. This would be a puzzle. He’d have to do more analysis on these disease samples. It was quite convienient that Silverlight was actually paying him to do it. Not as much as the work would seem to be worth, but Faleast had... other incentives. He took his next tray of samples, this one from a lake nobody else seemed to want to go near. There were 16 samples, small balls of material each in a double-aluminum-lined lead casing. Faleast plugged one sample into a machine designed to test its reaction to heat. He took another sample and held it up to the light. Inside so much metal, it seemed unremarkable. He smiled, then let the sample sink through his palm and migrate to his ribcage. Unremarkable enough that even the brightest of the low-paid interns wouldn’t try and find a sample that fell into the cracks. 2

Ashbringer he/him Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 He’s not evil, he’s just misunderstood! Faleast and AraRaash are traversing the cosmere to try and collect various forms of Investiture (and repeatedly find themselves stuck with people who want to murder each other along the way). Ashyn provides a very unique form of Investiture in that it’s tied to pathogens, and can have perhaps irreplicable affects. So Faleast wants to have some of each sample he researches for his own, so if he finds any Investiture he can access it later. Of course, he probably won’t find any. OOC I’m playing Faleast as obtaining any powers he gets as roles, which is why you may see him using Allomantic Nicrosil at times. He’s also got a F-Gold spike so I can justify him getting repeatedly thrown into highstorms and breaking his bones. So if I manage to get an Invested role in this game (or do I have it already? ), he’ll “keep” it for RP in future games. That being said, if you want to RP finding a sample missing, that could lead to some fun. But Faleast is acting entirely in his own self-interest at this point. Spoiler Side note: Faleast is named for one of the ashmounts, as is my Alleyverse character Tyrian. Faleast is also natively from Era 2 Scadrial. Turns out that while the Faleast ashmount is gone, on the Elendel Basin map there’s an entire line of mountains called the Faleast Range. So I essentially named my character after a mountain range. ... I still like the name. 5

I was actually thinking about the ramifications of claiming elim to start the game. Decision matrix, axes of what I claim and whether the general populace believes me. I claim village, populace believes me: I am written off as a plebian villager, might get killed by elims. I claim village, populace doesn't believe me: I am put under suspicion and possibly lynched, elims won't kill me. I claim elim, populace believes me: I am lynched, which probably will happen for a few village claims until they realise I am lying then... I claim elim, populacer doesn't believe me: I am written off as a plebian villager and won't get cleared by elims. Conclusion: Nothing much will happen, but mind games are always fun. 25 minutes ago, Ashbringer said: That being said, if you want to RP finding a sample missing, that could lead to some fun. Dr. Gears stared at what was supposed to be a tray of sixteen samples from a lake. However, one of the samples was missing, either from misfiling or theft. There were too many missing samples for this to be ignored. The previous intern to work with this tray was... Faleast. He walked over to the man and tapped him on the shoulder. "Do you know what happened to the samples on this tray?" he asked pointedly, gesturing to the tray of what should have been sixteen samples. "You were the last one to work with them, after all. If there were missing samples when you received it, you should have reported it to the higher-ups. No such report was filed." Edited August 3, 2020 by Gears 3
