There was a guy called Plot who died, leaving behind a bunch of cool swords. Subversion and Platypus are arguing about morality. Rym's maybe on a quest to kill an evil monster.

Some wondered if they would rather find a new one or steal an already established Plotblade.

Also, Nerdy has one and is being evil for no apparent reason. Also, Nerdy's making lots of funnel cake.

Nerdy decided to summon their Narrationblade to duel-wield it with the Plotblade.

There were whispers of an ancient Plotblade more powerful than any other.

No one (NP) knew whether the rumors were true, but they whispered of a hidden stronghold held by Plot's greatest lieutenant, a dark place filled with evil and strange Narration.

Onyx's powers were almost as mysterious as they were feared.

Some called him a god of creation. Others a god of destruction.

But everyone agreed on one thing: Invade his realm, and you would face the full might of Onyx's wrath.

If his lesser servants did not destroy you first.

But one brave adventurer ignored all of these dire warnings, heart set on exploring unto the very heart of Onyx's domain.

"Killing Valiant, looking for flaws in others, killing Valiant, being a Narrator, etc. etc." Platypus replies.

you know, I don't have the energy right now. I just lost my shot at a district nerd competition so I'll do more later.

That's what everyone thought, but it wasn't quite accurate. There was more than one. Platypus' second form (sometimes called his Avatar) went with the brave being.

The shadows were allowed to enter and exit Onyx's realm at will, for Onyx did not care about them.

However, the stronghold was forbidden to them, as it was to all creatures not directly under Onyx's control.

As the adventurers approached, they saw the border. It was hard to miss: everything on the other side was dead.

"Not flaws, in my mind. A Narrator's purpose is to create story, and the plot with Valiant was quite a good one." Subversion shrugged. "But I suppose your Author could want something different from you; mine made me like this, and wants me like this."

The brave adventurer's courage wavered, and he turned to his companion. "Perhaps we should turn back."

"I would argue that a Narrator's purpose is to do what is best for the thread, and while the Valiant plot was good, you weren't a Narrator at that point so your actions are unexcused." Platypus says. "But I digress. I probably shouldn't spend so much energy on this. It happened, I can't change it."

"Never! We must conquer this castle! FOR GLORY!!!!!!!" The companion runs straight at the border but a magical bond stops him halfway there. "Are you coming?" She asks. "I can't go unless you either give up or come."

Subversion was sure that Rym would find a Plotblade easily. After all, there was one currently being used in an attempt to devour his soul.

Rym ducked under the monster's swing and parried the next one with his Mordite sword. As the monster reeled he stabbed it in the chest with the black blade.

Here at TLT, we believe in re-starting dead storylines!

The shadows did not care, Onyx was not relevant to their plans.
