Kaladin and Odysseus have so much PTSD to sing about...but for now, here's Different Beast as sung by Dalinar at the Rift. Oathbringer spoilers. There's a nice parallel about losing your humanity because your trust has been betrayed too many times, and letting a cause consume you until you lose what you love along the way. Also Dalinar's "feral animal" line really stuck with me on my WaT prep reread (still haven't read it, pls no spoilers). I can't believe Sando made a default, often-metaphored scary creature and then called it a whitespine. That word is so hard to fit into any rhyme scheme or cadence. Not nearly as much snap as wolf or shark. Anyway, glad y'all are still hanging around! It's good to see this thread active again. Blue and italicized is Kal and his men.
