That write up.. Wow just wow! It actually made me cry! But that's nothing new I cry over everything the least bit emotional :P a truely proper send off for an SE veteran, well done Joe!

I am also not surprised at all by that role and that Maill was village, why would Joe give us an easy elim kill or allow us to kill off a useless role, that would be far too helpful! :P

I am walking into a meeting as I write this, and have clients all day so I will be popping up occasionally but don't expect much!

All I can say is that I was worried about how quickly Emerald had gathered votes without any discussion, since I was working under the assumption we were going to lynch 2 people. Elbereth was the first person to mention Elbereth, and hadn't placed a vote of her own, as I remember. And I felt like I needed to vote on someone, since I had been kind of absent cycle 1. That being said, I probably won't be online again until this evening, and most days in the next week or so I will only be on twice a day, since I am on vacation!

I thought Emerald's was actually pretty normal; what disturbed me was how quickly the votes came on me D1 and D2. But looking at Maill's list it appears that I can explain why Sart, Kipper, and Bard wanted me dead so much.

Ayo.

Personally I'd like to hear more from @Araris Valerian about the vote on Elbereth. As far as I can see she was hardly setting the lynch target, more expressing an opinion that many others shared and have since reiterated. Not to mention that Len was on equal standing, if not more likely to be lynched than Emerald.

I echo this, because El seemed pretty on-the-level to me.

El was the first person to mention El? Do you mean El was the first to mention Emerald? And if so, she wasn't, that honor would go to someone D1, when Emerald was accused of bandwagoning with allies.

@Elenion

Confirmed good does not mean confirmed right. Maill was a very good player, but his suspicions are not any more valid than anybody else's and should be treated as suspicions, not real confirmation.

I agree with what Emerald said. Villagers can and will be wrong. Plus, there is no guarantee that Maill even tried to make his list accurate. Several of the people on the list said to me that they hadn't roleclaimed to him. Plus, Maill has a reputation for mixing truths and lies regardless of his alignment. There's no reason to believe that the list is the epitome of accuracy.

I'm curious why Elenion says that the bolded list is accurate, because I have definitely not claimed to him.

Also, I claimed something completely different to Mailliw, but I understand why he put me on his list as he did.

@little wilson: I know exactly what you think, thanks to Mailliw, who told me pretty much the contents of your last message in our PM. I don't really care.

I can't guarantee its complete accuracy; that's why I asked for others' input on whether or not it was. I just know that it fits with all roleclaims that I have received.

Any nominations for Chay-shan targets? I for one nominate Stink, and here's why. There are three possible outcomes if we kill him: 1) He's telling the truth, and is neutral. In this case we lose nothing, because he hasn't really been doing anything for us, and has no incentive to do so. 2) He's a villager masquerading as neutral. Frankly, this doesn't seem likely to me, because a villager gains almost nothing from claiming neutral. 3) He's an eliminator masquerading as neutral. If he's using neutral as a cover, then perfect: we've found and killed an eliminator. Low risk, high potential for reward.

Yes Stink, I know I might be intentionally denying you your win con. You knew that was a risk when you publicly claimed neutral.

Thoughts?

Town members like this are why I always wait a little longer to out myself as a Survivor when I play ToS or other games. Sure, he might be an Eliminator masquerading as a Survivor. Maybe he's a Neutral Evil. So the storms what? Why ruin someone's declared win condition when it's maybe 75% that they're telling the truth, and just want to survive? Take the risk and let him have some fun.

Posted

I don't think we should kill Stink until he does something suspicious. If he's neutral, he's not doing anything to help us, sure, but he's not doing anything to hurt us either. Besides, I think he's taking the game more seriously than usual, if STINK's guide to fun is any indication. Let's encourage that by keeping him alive until he does something that hurts the village.

Posted

I've been helping you guys and all I get are people saying that I should be killed.

Posted

I think the best way to deal with Stink is the Dula way: if he's neutral then leave him, if he's neutral-evil or an elim then kill him. A neutral player working with the village is basically a villager, after all.

Three minutes later, Anelin walked out the door to eat buscuits with Naara.

Anelin moved through the house, half wary, half nervous. She didn't want to make Naara blow up again, the way the pancake suggestion had made her cousin run around in circles screaming her lungs off.

I shouldn't have to be afraid of setting Naara off, Anelin thought in frustration. If I was at home, nobody could scream at me and get away with it. But Anelin wasn't at home and she was dependent on Naara's charity to be able to stay in Kae. The revenge gift of pancakes after ten would have to wait until Anelin was back on her home turf.

Finally, Anelin reached the dining table. She opened her clenched hands and plastered a smile on her face. "Here I am, cousin," she said.

Okay, am posting this now so the online times are mostly correct. Am still finishing up the post/didn't post part of it. It's mostly for my own benefit because of a theory I've got, but I figure posting it can't hurt.

Edit: Okay, I believe everything in there is correct now. Hopefully...

5 minutes until rollover. Writeup is being delayed by an hour, due to both RL circumstances and a mess up in regards to actions. I need to make sure everything is correct before I post results.

Last minute post time. I'm kind of suspicious of those players who haven't yet posted during a Night Turn. I have a theory that an elim suggested that if they don't post, they're unlikely to be scanned, because a village Dula wouldn't want to waste a scan by hitting someone who was Legionnaired. So I kinda suspect Wilson, Elbereth, Aonar, Orlok for that. But yeah, hard to say.

Right. I'd forgotten about that because I thought Joe might let you post that red post even if you were locked up. Good to know though. I still think my theory has merit. You're not the only player I had that thought about, as my last post clearly stated.

Those people shouldn't be inherently suspicious for their lack of posting. See, I said day 1 that I wouldn't posting during the night (haven't upheld to that yet though) because I wanted to make the eliminators guess as to who was actually arrested. And that's the thing: if the eliminators avoid attacking those who haven't posted, not posting protects players. It protects potential eliminator targets.

Therefore, since either team had perfectly valid reasons for not posting, guess what? Not posting is not alignment indicative in the slightest.

Why do you want people to post? Is your goal to make it more obvious to the eliminators of who they can attack? Because that's what demanding those who aren't arrested to post will do: widen the field of possible targets. And you wonder why people find you suspicious...

Day Three: Retirement does not imply easy targets.

The sounds of steel on steel was not beautiful, as many of his soldiers claimed, but Lorien did find it comforting. He listened from his small chape; as his soldiers trained, dueling each other in pairs and groups. He truly believed that no one, save maybe Eondel, would be able to kill him here at his mansion. As soon as Iadon had issued his proclamation to kill the conspirators, he had set about fortifying his estates, and increasing the salary of his men.

He had talked to each and every soldier in person, and was certain of their loyalty to him. And yet, he still felt worried that he had missed something. Only his prayers to Domi, accompanied by the sound of vigilance allowed him to sleep easy at night.

“Loving Domi, grant me safety and protection this night, and all others. Let Iadon sleep easy and realize the truth.”

The door behind him creaked open, and a chill ran down his spine. He had standing orders that he was not to be disturbed during his prayers unless there was an emergency. He stood slowly, turning around to see who had arrived. His steward stood by the door, wringing his hands in nervousness.

“My Lord Lorien.” He began stiffly. “A Messenger claiming to be from Iadon has arrived. He wishes to speak to you in private, here in the chapel, and claims he bears a cargo of ‘wood and oil,’ though he has no cargo with him.”

Wood and Oil was a code that Iadon had insisted on. It signified the carried message had great import and needed to be acted on immediately. Lorien waved his consent, and the steward bowed. He left to fetch the messenger. Lorien sat down to wait, wondering what Iadon was going to tell him. Had he truly found a conspiracy? Or was Lorien being ordered somewhere? Wood and Oil was never a sign of good news.

“Wood and Oil is such an interesting combination. It brings fire to mind. Is it for sacrifices to Domi?”

Lorien snapped his head back to see the ‘messenger.’ he looked like no messenger from Iadon he had ever seen before. He was cloaked from head to foot, with no skin showing. His head pivoted back and forth, as if he was determined to never look in one direction for more than a second. “You are not a messenger from Iadon. How did you get the passcode?”

The messenger focused on him for the first time, and Lorien could hear his grin. “I drank it from his mind while he slept!”

“Why are you here?”

“To receive an answer. I asked a question a while ago, but the poor man died before he could answer. Tell me lord, does God decide our fate, or does man decide our chances?”

“Domi has planned our fates of course.”

“Let’s see you prove it!” The messenger dashed forward, cloak streaming out behind him. Lorien crossed his arms in front of him in a desperate bid to defend himself from whatever attack was coming, but rather than attack him, the messenger skidded to a halt less than a foot from him. “Do you know how you will prove that Domi wills your life to continue?”

Lorien took one step back, trembling. “H-how?”

“By waking you up in the morning.” The messenger twirled, and drove one foot into his chest. He flew backwards, hitting the stone altar. He screamed as he fell to the ground, his entire body burning in pain.

“I think you’re dead now, but if you can hear this, congratulations on your retirement! Goodbye!”

Lorien groaned softly as he heard the chapel door close. He tried to call out to his steward, but felt something dig into his chest. It felt like his ribs were broken. And maybe an arm. He had let himself go. If he woke up tomorrow, Domi willing, he’d take up practice with his soldiers. He never should have let himself get so weak.

Adonai’s eyes slowly open, breaking the crust that coated his lashes. He groaned as he began to feel his body. Light streamed in from the window, blinding him. He coughed once, the action sending tremors down his body. He tried to rub the crust from his eyes, but found his arm was bound to the bed.

What had happened?

He heard footsteps to the side, and a priest entered his blurry field of vision. “Thank the father you’re still alive.” The priest turned and called over his shoulder. “He has awoken, bring the doctor.” He turned back and offered him a comforting smile. “You’re going to live sir. We feared you would not survive your injuries at your advanced age sir, but you’re stronger than you seem.”

“What, happened?” His voice sounded ragged to him, and his throat felt like it was dead.

“We don’t know. The city watch brought you to us late last night, after finding you in the street, badly beaten. We had hoped you would know more than us.”

Adonai kept the emotion off his face, but inside, he raged. He had been beaten? Badly enough and quickly enough that he had no memory of the event? Whoever had done this would pay for their insolence. They had attacked the wrong man. They should have gone for a man with less skills than him. He would figure out who had done this, and he would crush them.

It was time to get back to his roots.

Day three has started! It ends in 47 hours!

Conquestor was attacked, but Survived!
