It's pretty awkward overall since I've known her for most of my life. I'm 18, and I've known her for at least 12 years. There's also the fact that her brother, who was over as well, ships us to some degree. Plus, I don't know how I feel romantically. I'm not a very emotional person, so I can't really tell. Overall, like I said, it's a pretty weird situation, one which I haven't been in before, so I don't really know what to do.

Any suggestions anyone? We have agreed to hangout when I'm back for the holidays.

If her brother is shipping you, and she's the kind of person who'd let him know who she likes, it probably means she's told him she's interested in you. I struggle to see a brother knowingly shipping a sibling with someone other than their crush. Other than that, basically what Ookla the Incorrigible said. You should pay attention and measure your romantic inclinations around her. If they aren't significant, chances are you shouldn't date.

I see. There is the fact though that I've known her brother as long as I've known her and we're just as close. Also he was there in the loft when we were cuddling, though he suggested the shipping before it happened.

Thanks for the advice. I'll think about it. It's hard though since I'm not a very emotional person and romance is something that's new to me. Plus, I don't get the chance to see her often since I'm at university, though I talk to her on facebook when I can.

On a side note, what is with all the Ookla usernames now?

It's a 17th shard Holiday, in honour of Ookla the Mok, AKA Peter Ahlstrom (Sanderson's right hand man). 

 

In the old TWG forums (before the dark times, before the empire), Ahlsteom went by the username Ookla the Mok. So we celebrate him with various 'Ookla the...' usernames this time every year. 

 

Bonus points to anyone who remembers Brandon Sandersons old username

Some people just don't like Jar-Jar. At all. They might resent having the most annoying part of Star Wars pop up during Ookla Season. I neither upvoted nor downvotec the joke; I'm just offering a possible explanation.

Eventually they will realize that there is no way you could be interested in all that stuff if you are not seeking a romantic partner. Another thing is, I believe the term in, "mimicking".
