Impossible. There is no spoon.

You seem to think being a weirdo and wearing a spoon in your hair is somehow making you... unattractive?. It makes you interesting.

He's right you know. I'd rather ask out a girl with a spoon in her hair than one whose hair was spoonless. The spoon is cute. The spoon is quirky. The spoon comes with an interesting story for sure.

Thanks. You guys are all awesome.

(By the way, the spoon's name is Reginald Lancaster.)

The intrigue I am currently experiencing will make it impossible to sleep tonight! You must apologize with story!

It's really not all that interesting, but sure. :P

When I was eating lunch outside the band room (it's always band, isn't it?) someone gave me a spoon because they didn't need it for their applesauce. I stuck it behind my ear and started joking about putting my hair in a bun the next day and sticking the spoon through it. So, naturally, I did. :P

I think I'm going to make it a thing. What do you think?

Hey, I could become a spoon-based superhero! That would be awesome.

Mistrunner + Reckoners RPG + Spoonbased Epic = Awesomeness.

That makes a disturbing amount of sense, actually. I should make some radish earrings.

@Mistrunner - if you don't want to date yet, good for you. Waiting for dating is a very, very smart move, IMO.

So tell him. You're flattered, would love to chat with him, but don't want to start dating until you're older.

I.... Don't actually know what homecoming is. Some kind of school dance event?

I am clearly not an American. (I'm also assuming you're one! Which could be false!)

Nevertheless, if you don't want to go, don't go. If you want to go, or think it might be worth going, go with the guy. But make it clear that you don't want to date until you're older. Open and honest communication is extremely handy and helpful! No raising false expectations or giving fake answers!

That's general life advice for you there folks, straight from the horses mouth! (I am, apparently, a horse. I didn't know this until today.)

In all seriousness though, make the decision you are less likely to regret.

Are you more likely to regret the missed opportunity, or are you more likely to regret an awkward high school dance.

Either way, you're a teenager, and being a teenager is confusing.

So good luck, try not to overthink things and have fun!

I thought exactly the same thing...

Anyway, I'd wanted to contribute to the topic, but Mistrunner is flooded with advice, my relationship is stable, so I'll just suggest painting the spoon in some bright color to make it even more fun ;)

Mistrunner, you sound like you would get along with me and my friends.

Whenever one of my friends doesn't eat his applesauce, he gives it to me and I either stick a straw in it and try to drink it, or I discretely put it on my best friend's head and she wears it like a hat until it falls.

If you think applesauce is storming amazing, there's probably a lot of foods you haven't tried. You're an Aussie, yeah?

It's interesting, for sure. Loses its novelty after a few years :P I once ate it almost every day in grade school, for about a year, and I was sick of it.

Other stuff, like peanut butter sandwiches, or pancakes, I can eat forever, but applesauce still makes me cringe just a bit.

triggered. I hate peanut butter...just too "nutty" I guess.

I can understand why you would dislike it after a year of eating it every day :)

EDIT_ I just realised that Tor.com released the first Malazan book for free. Just sign up and pick USA or Canada and u can get it

Peanut butter is very nutty.

Do you eat Vegemite? Because I have never eaten it and it makes me want to vomit.

It's a suspiciously-colored, yeast-based by-product that you smear on your toast.

No I don't, I hate Vegemite as well, a poor way to make kids eat their veggies.

My only relationship is with Nutella. I'm committed.
