TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Present tense *is* proper English. The rest I can't comment on because I haven't read it. I have been watching The 100 which is great. It is. It's not as popular as past tense, but it's perfectly acceptable.
Orlion Blight he/him Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 amen to the antidivergents you know whats almost as bad? the fifth wave I mean I understand that some people like that series but you have to realize that writing in present tense is not proper english. and for petes sake, this is the apocolypse! its not time to make out with people who you barely know! I disagree. The apocalypse is exactly the most appropriate time to make out with people you barely know! After all, when will you get the next opportunity? You're all about die!

Two teenagers hold hands, their backs to the reader, silhouetted against the flames of a burning city. The title hovers over them in bold letters: Makeout Point: It's Now or Never So yeah. That's in my head now. 1

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Subtitle: Before the cannibals arrive, they will taste love! Am I the only one thinking we might have a hit on our hands? 1
Orlion Blight he/him Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Am I the only one thinking we might have a hit on our hands? indeed, we might have the next YA craze in our hands!
Old Terrisman Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Now we just have to fill the rest of the pages! Put in a good love triangle, some peril scenes, awkward family moments/dead family moments (there's never an in between), and we'll soon be raking in the money.
The Honor Spren she/her Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Don't forget the protagonist who is the most specialest person in the world!
Zathoth Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 Someone said that cannibalism is the highest form of love...
Orlion Blight he/him Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Someone said that cannibalism is the highest form of love... I imagine the final line will be the heroine saying: "Before they stole his heart...I stole a kiss..."
Voidus Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Am I the only one thinking we might have a hit on our hands? I think you're right. But if you ever publish it I will never speak to you again. (Unless you donate the money to the clone Brandon Sanderson charity so he can write twice as many books at a time. )
Mistrunner Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 LESS THAN 5 DAYS UNTIL BANDS OF MOURNING IS RELEASED! It's the final countdown! More on-topic, I could barely finish the first Divergent book. I couldn't take it seriously. Look, if you must read post-apocalyptic YA novels, I recommend a book called Steelheart by this guy called Brandon Sanderson. You've probably never heard of him. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 New chapter is up! Sorry this took so long. I probably could've gotten a decent chunk of it written earlier….if only I had known I'd be stranded in Minnesota another day. Oh well. It's done now. 2

Edgedancer he/him Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Am I the only one thinking we might have a hit on our hands? I think I know at least one character that's a fan of the idea. 1

I probably could've gotten a decent chunk of it written earlier….if only I had known I'd be stranded in Minnesota another day. Oh well. It's done now. About time! Loved it. Also, has anyone else seen the Google logo for today? I'm not sure if everyone gets the same one, but it has peppers on the front? It's a game! And super addicting. Edit: I got all the way to level 5! Edited January 22, 2016 by The Honor Spren
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Thanks! And Bruce has been dropped off at the vet's office. The poor little guy was super nervous, but if it means my mom has one less thing to complain about, it'll be worth it. And there's the whole "being a responsible pet owner" thing. That's good too.
Kobold King he/him Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 There's an argument raging somewhere about whether Discord or Bill Cipher would win in a fight. Summary of the debate: "There's no way Discord could win against someone of equal power to him. I mean, he's constantly bested by colorful ponies with only a fraction of his magical power!" "Right. So, just to be clear, your money's on the guy who can't handle a couple of twelve year-olds?" It's gotten surprisingly heated.
Kaymyth she/her Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 At least the ponies have actual magical powers themselves! The 12-year-olds are just kids.

Being entirely honest, I haven't seen Gravity Falls so I can't properly take part in the debate wheter or not Bill is "stronger" but I would like to raise the points that Discord has both been magically overpowered (at least partially), has suffered from being hit by suprise and shown to be effected at least on some level by diseases, meaning he definetly isn't omnipotent, plus MLP figures of mythical proportions do tend to turn out decidedly weaker than what the fandom assumes. Here, more valid arguments than "gets bested by ponies." Edited January 22, 2016 by Edgedancer

Here, more valid arguments than "gets bested by ponies." It's definitely less of a one-sided argument than the "Twilight Sparkle vs Rainbow Dash" debate on the same page. Our favorite purple alicorn has the demonstrated magic to take on half the supervillains in fiction, and any episode in which she doesn't is pure plot convenience.
Orlion Blight he/him Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 I would say the best argument for Discord beating Bill is that he is essentially Q in animated form. 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 I would say the best argument for Discord beating Bill is that he is essentially Q in animated form. Right down to the voice actor. "So, we have this idea for a villain! He's basically this universe's version of Q. So we should try and get someone who sounds like John deLancie." "Why not just get John deLancie?" "Well, because we can't, obviously." "Are you sure? I mean, has anybody asked him?"

I'm pretty sure he'd agree to voice Discord for a Discord vs. Bill fight, if someone asked nicely.
