Fatebreaker he/him Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 When you've read all 63 pages of this thread. 14
bookspren Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 When you realize you are closest to ISTJ on the Myers Briggs type indicator, discover they are described as dependable people who will make sure things get done, and think "Ha, I really am a Stoneward!" When you wonder if it's significant that there are 16 types. 8
gjustice99 she/her Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 (edited) You know your a sanderfan when you lie to your friend (who you're making read Mistborn) saying that TLR=Alendi to make the plot twist of TLR=Rashek more intense.By "you" I mean "me" (or "I" depending on context) because I seriously just did this. When you want to try on a ballgown to be like Vin. When you feel a bit exposed when your safehand is uncovered. When everything on your Christmas list is from Brandon's website, or one of his books. When you spend 30 minutes looking for a WoB to prove something. When you see this on your profile: Most Active InMistborn (16 posts ) and think that it is the most amazing thing that will ever happen in your life. Edited November 29, 2014 by gjustice99 5
Redbird he/him Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 When a friend asks a question about mistborn half way through and you respond with RAFO. 10
Observer Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 When you have a neat little stack of RAFO cards that you sleep with in the hopes that their mysteries will seep into your mind via the badly misunderstood mechanics of osmosis. 8
mail-mi he/him Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 When a friend asks a question about mistborn half way through and you respond with RAFO. I have done that so many times and it's the greatest thing. When you get so much joy from convincing your friends that Sazed will die at the end of [iNSERT CURRENT MISTBORN BOOK THEY'RE READING HERE] 2
Delightful Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 You know your a sanderfan when you lie to your friend (who you're making read Mistborn) saying that TLR=Alendi to make the plot twist of TLR=Rashek more intense. By "you" I mean "me" (or "I" depending on context) because I seriously just did this. I once gave Mistborn to someone who usually works out plot twists early on. He was SO disappointed that he was barely halfway through and had already worked out that TLR must be Alendi. Like legit actually disappointed that this amazing book wasn't going to surprise him. I laughed so hard at that. 11
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 When you kick a bald child with cancer across the room in front of the kid's parents just you can tell people that you have "kicked someone's Shin". I wanna upvote that cause it's clever, but at the same time I wanna downvote it since it's horrible. . . 3
BreathTaker he/him Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 That is horrible... I'm laughing right now but I don't want to. Ya know... a bald kid probably would have worked too. 3
Redbird he/him Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Even just using a smaller bald person would have worked better, seriously, i'm laughing, but I shouldn't be. 3
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) Yeah, maybe edit out the cancer part. Then I'll give it an Upvote. EDIT: Upvote given. Edited November 24, 2014 by The Only Joe 1
Kasimir he/him Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I'm going to hope you didn't actually do that and you're just saying it for kicks. When you forget to codeswitch when talking to a friend who hasn't (yet) read the Stormlight Archive and you describe your lecturer as having "flipped his chull" over something. 6
Steel he/him Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) When you dream about having a higher reputation than Kobold King. EDIT: When you make a post in YOU KNOW YOU'RE A SANDERSON FAN WHEN... and see that you're an Obligator, and scream with joy. Edited November 23, 2014 by Steel 10
Popular Post Kobold King he/him Posted November 23, 2014 Popular Post Posted November 23, 2014 When you dream about having a higher reputation than Kobold King. When other people dream about having a higher reputation than you do. 17
Curiosity he/him Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 You know your a sanderfan when you lie to your friend (who you're making read Mistborn) saying that TLR=Alendi to make the plot twist of TLR=Rashek more intense. By "you" I mean "me" (or "I" depending on context) because I seriously just did this. When you giggle that your friend who's reading Mistborn hasn't figured out that there's 16 metals, and you act all confused with him about aluminum and duralumin and how they don't have external counterparts... 7
SmurfAquamarineBodies he/him Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) When you kick a bald midget across the room in front of his friends just you can tell people that you have "kicked someone's Shin". sanderfan she/her Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 When you like to slide around on hardwood floors pretending you're an Edgedancer. 10
Surgebound Rainspren he/him Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 when your most used site is 17shard or when you leave coins lying around the place but are sad that you live in a country that doesn't make theirs out of allomatic metals 3
Oudeis he/him Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Yeah... I don't see how adding "cancer," "in front of parents," or even making it a child to begin with, added to the "humor" without being purposefully mean. I'm not sure how you can make those decisions without knowing that you're just trying to say the most shocking, borderline offensive thing you can think of in the belief that this will make the joke funnier. 2
Fatebreaker he/him Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 When you become excruciatingly angry at yourself for sullying this Sandersonian bit of the internet with your poor decision. Kudos for owning your mistake. That's extremely rare on the internet. 7
Delightful Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) That's something I really like about 17S. In general, it's filled with much nicer people than it seems the rest of the internet is made up of. I'd never want to mess up such a great, mutually respectful forum with something insensitive. Thanks for your forgiveness. We keep each other honest And you can have an upvote from me for sincerely apologising. Too few people have enough humility for it. Twenty@20 he/him Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 When your mobile browser has two tabs permanently opened - Brandon's site and 17th shard. When you see Peter's photo on Brandon's twitter handle and can't decide who's looking more cute - Peter or his daughter. 3
Crystin Radiant Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 When you cry because you remember that being ugly isn't a Smedry Talent.Australia's talent is waking up 'ugly'...When you watch field of dreams and think the voice the main character is hearing is Ruin, (actually, it makes more sense if it were Harmony, but it's funnier when you think it's Ruin) and then you wonder who spiked the main character. When your brother agreeing to read a chapter of mistborn is enough of a bribe for you to shut up and quit complaining about having to get a storming flu shot. When you squee because there's new merchandise in Brandon's store, and you desperately want it. 3
Kasimir he/him Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 When you go back to all the fantasy books you used to read as a kid and realise that most of them are uninteresting to you these days--because, Sanderson. 4
Steel he/him Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) When you regularly use "..., kulo?" at the end of a sentence. When you write "I am a stick" in your notebooks, and, when questioned about it by your teachers, attempt to convince them to admit that they too are truly sticks. When you name all the characters in your DnD campaign after ones from the Cosmere. When you remind all your friends to read Brandon Sanderson to the point that it becomes an hourly routine. When your life's goal is to meet Brandon Sanderson. When you attempt to summon your Shardblade when someone insults Brandon Sanderson, and then, failing that, slap them round the head and call them airsick, colorblinded, foolish lowlanders. When you are heartbroken because you can't get Brandon Sanderson merchandise to your house, and read Brandon Sanderson to mollify yourself. When your computer crashes because of the amount of 17thShard tabs that are open on your browser. When you devote hours and hours to drawing/writing Sanderson fan art. I'm a Sanderfan, kulo?
