traceria she/her Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 These are shows I have not seen in French all too often.... They still pass reruns of the original Smurfs over here.... Gee, I used to watch the very same episodes, 30 years ago  Teen Titans is something I recall existed a few years back, but I'm probably older then you all, so I never really watch it  I feel old now I feel you maxal. I'm about to turn 34 in...oh...two days. *sigh* I grew up watching the old TMNT, X-Men, Batman, etc. and also the Smurfs, Snorkels, original Thundercats and such when I was even younger.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) Does anyone else miss Static Shock? Because that show, for all its flaws, was awesome. I remember watching it whenever it came on (even if it was just reruns) and being genuinely upset when it was cancelled. It wasn't until I got older that I realized how unique it was for its genre: an African-American protagonist, with a white sidekick, fighting mostly superpowered street gangs, and it was treated like nothing unusual. And instead of realizing what an awesome cult classic they had, DC decides to make another movie about Superman, but mix it up by having him flat-out break Zod's neck. Meanwhile, a Marvel kicks their butts with a talking raccoon. And DC worries that making a Wonder Woman movie will alienate fans. Edited November 3, 2014 by TwiLyghtSansSparkles 1

I'll be 35 in a few months :( :( I have kids now, no way escaping it: I am a grown up. This is scary sometimes I recalled to original X-Men series, that one got translated Snorkels! I had forgotten about that one

Quiver he/him Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 And DC worries that making a Wonder Woman movie will alienate fans. Oh! I can't believe I forgot to advertise this! A few years ago, DC made an animated Wonder Woman film. If anyone here hasn't seen it, I really, really recommend it... but with a caveat: DAMNATION is it violent. Now, I actually rather like that; the movie doesn't shy away from the fact that the Amazonian's are Warrior Women, or that a war-like culture is violent, and has violent consequences. I also feel it kind of works the way that war films often make the best anti-war films; it makes the moments of love, compassion and encouragement even better. Still, figure I ought to give that warning up front. Anyway... Matrim, I have no idea what's wrong, but I hope that it get's better, or that you feel better, and let me know if there's anythign I can do to help.

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Arrogant accountants are terrible. Arrogant accountants who make a big stink over a ticket being five cents over are worse. Arrogant accountants who make a stink over a ticket being five cents over and call to say you did it wrong in their typical irritating way are the worst. That is all.

Delightful Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Thank you. I needed that. You're welcome Now I'm having a day when I could really use a hug. Don't really want to talk about it though, so maybe as a non-rant this doesn't qualify...anyway. 2
Ashiok Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 You get an internet hug! You get an internet hug! Everybody gets an internet hug! Seriously though. Just keep on pushing through. It will get better eventually.
Voidus Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 If there's one thing worse than having sever anxiety attacks it's your psychiatrist deciding to change the medication for your anxiety attacks and so stops your dosage, making them about 5000000000 times worse. Does anyone want some skin? I feel like ripping mine off right about now. 1

Voidus Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Just sunk $200 into the collector's edition of the new Dragon Age, crashes on startup, check specs, all fine, contact customer support and absolutely no one can be bothered giving any advice other than 'try to get a refund'

Kobold King he/him Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 A couple of hours ago my cat died. I just got back from digging his grave. He was an incredibly gentle and loving animal. His name was Neko--the Japanese word for "cat." While perhaps uncreative, the name came to suit him more than I could have ever known; in every way, Neko embodied the greatest virtues of the Cat. He was strong. He was quick-witted. He was stealthy. He was a fierce hunter and a mighty tomcat, fighting only in self defense. And above all else, he had kindness and love engrained in every fiber of his being, shining not just as a great cat, but as a superb example of a living thing and a noble creation of God. I miss my cat. 7

I miss my cat. I'm so sorry. I know that doesn't quite do it justice, but I am. I know what it's like to lose a pet--I lost one of my dogs last year. But I can tell you loved him, and I know you gave him a good life. And I think that's how he'd see it, too--he lived a great life with an awesome alien friend. (I'm convinced that's how dogs at least think of us, as these big, weird aliens who like them a lot.) It doesn't make it easier. But I do know he had the best life a cat could ask for. 2
BreathTaker he/him Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I'm sorry KK, sounds like he was a pretty awesome cat. I actually have feels right now, that doesn't happen very often... R.I.P. Neko!!!!! 2
Kobold King he/him Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Thank you for the sympathy. And yes, I believe he lived a good life. He had dozens of acres of prey-infested brush to prowl around in, and at all times a warm cabin where he was loved and welcomed. That doesn't make it any easier. And it doesn't make me any less angry at the reckless drivers who are constantly speeding down these rural roads, leaving trails of animal corpses in their wake. But I am thankful for the sympathy.
Edgedancer he/him Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 My condolence Kobold. I have a cat myself and I really don´t want to think about something happening to her. Words probably won´t do much but if there´s anything some random guys on the internet can help you with, we´re here for you. 1

I'm sorry Kobold, losing pets is always hard, especially when it's caused by such senseless behavior in others. *Interweb hugz* 1
