Amanuensis he/him Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 (edited) Praise Araris Praise RNGesus Sorry to all the people I manipulated and murdered on my path to victory the only big thing is I hope people had fun! My biggest motivation - more than even supporting my team - was giving the Village a real challenge, since lately I've felt as a Villager that I LOVE when games are tough and close in the end; the feeling of believing with all your heart that the puzzle is solved, only to find out you made a mistake and have to start from the ground up all over again, is so wonderful. I love being surprised by my own preconceptions and by other people, so I hope y'all found joy in it too. Had to take a lot of risks this game. Pushing the Orlok bussed Bort narrative for example. If he died to the filter C6, I think that's have all it took to get Mat to vote TJ. If I died C6 instead of TUN and Orlok stayed in, I would have killed Mat instead of JNV so Orlok could either vote JNV or TJ, expecting them to cross vote. I tried my best to make sure one of us clutched in the end, and I'm very happy we managed to win together. I'm also incredibly proud of the Village for putting up such a hard fight. It was a blast, even when I was constantly panicking Praise the Dark! (Tho I still prefer the Light :p) Edited April 7, 2022 by Amanuensis 1
StrikerEZ he/him Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 This is now the second game where Orlok has clutched an elim win with another one of his teammates after having some inactivity and returning in full force in the thread. Also I definitely clocked out of this game once I died. Once again this game happened right as I got incredibly swamped by real life stuff. But I did have fun talking when I was still alive! Thanks so much @Kasimir for running this!

Striker kill shouldn't have happened --I'd love to hear everyone's honest Fang philosophy. I was assuming the elims would hope it doesn't trigger in the near term and never vote for it, but would generally claim to have if it did activate. I figured then it only takes a few villagers who are inactive/forgetful/against it to make it so it doesn't happen C1. But I expected it to be close, within one or two of half if it didn't get activated. Which would then mean it'd be hard to fake claim having voted for the Fang. Anyway, I'm curious what y'all really thought about its activation --Curious what people think about the elims potentially skipping an NK to get to 2v:1e instead of 1v:1e. Reminds me of the last QF, where me not voting would have guaranteed a coinflip round instead of a certain win or loss. Is that gamethrowing? Is that smart strategy? Thanks for running this, GM, IM. I enjoyed it I agree with the statement, but technically looking for bussers was the correct way to go. I still believe that c1 has the highest overall chance of helping the village, but c2 has the potential to be far worse, or far better than c1, depending on the Elim teams mentality. C3 is the same, but it can go farther either way. For games with outnumber or times when it doesn't delay parity, I'm all for it, especially with WGGs. It is the optimal move in that situation I think.

And y'all thought I was being excessive by refusing to sleep due to the need to watch the PMs and @ every single player who was wavering and ask them to stay on target >> Now you can be your own MeerKas! The power is inside you all along!

I Tbh it was super sad that only three people voted to use it D1 xD I maintain that bussing a teammate D1 would’ve been the best elim play when it came to the Fang. They kind of did do that with Orlok’s retraction… 13 hours ago, Matrim's Dice said: Again, apologies to the village and especially TJ and Stick, for blowing that by voting TUN, we had a good run. Nah you didn’t blow it I take credit for sussing TUN hard before I died. But I think the village on a whole did not do a terrible job we did correctly identify all elims at various points even if we decided not to pursue our all suspicions. Thank you GM/IM for the game and thank you Kas for creating Stieg May all your games be a lesson to us about falsely assuming that there exist unspoken distribution rules and norms. And well played elims! I love how close the game was even in the very end It was fun PMing all three of you (Araris died too early rip) and I enjoyed my PMs with the village too. 1

Frankly, that and that I was hoping the PM lesson would be learned It's okay if Orlok and Aman want to sit on the thread like Evil Smaugs, guys. That's literally what you have PMs for!

I was just so hung up on the possibility of a bus…Reading too much into Araris’ posts wasnt such a great plan there. He only ever interacted with villagers sadge.
|TJ| he/him Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 Bah, sorry guys. I really didn't put my all into the game, and basically did zero back-reading. Having said that, I'm glad I was able to change Mat's mind in the last cycle even though it didn't matter in the end. Smh I just wish I had stayed on the one paranoid theory I dismissed because that Orlok retraction was weird as heck xD Good game, elims! I don't think I had any of you figured out, and Mat was the one who pointed me in Aman's direction. Also there should be a rule that you don't survive a tie if you have survived a tie before in the game xD Sorry Stick and Archer for tunneling on you guys with the bus theory :P. This was one of the bad village games >>

StrikerEZ he/him Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 Oh I was gonna mention that I was really sad that the Fang didn’t get used too. I really did think that using it D1 was the best option.
Devotary of Spontaneity Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Congratulations to the elims for winning, and thank you to Kasimir for running the game! As always, if anyone would like to try their hand at running a game, please get ahold of Wilson, Devotary of Spontaneity, Elbereth, Araris Valerian, Elandera, or StrikerEZ, or post in the GM Signups & Discussion Thread. Not only will we get you added to the list, but we'd also be more than willing to help out in any way we can. You can also ask questions and get some hints and feedback from everyone in our Art of Game Creation thread. With all the games that we've run so far, we have plenty of experienced GMs that can help you refine any game you're thinking about. If you would rather keep some detail secret, or are self-conscious about posting in thread (there's really no need to be; while we do slaughter each other, we are very polite about it), then I'm sure one of our fantastic committee members (Amanuensis, STINK, Sart, Fifth Scholar, Straw, Archer, and Kasimir) would be more than willing to help you out in private. Thanks again to everyone that played, and we look forward to killing seeing you in future games!
