10 til rollover, isn't it? I'm too tired for this

If... hm. Illwei, I know I'm village, and I'm going to die anyway. The only way for things to get any better at this point, I think, since I can't convince you not to kill me, is for you all to vote me and Reading to shoot someone other than me.

Illwei, switch your vote to me, and Reading. I'll unvote: Reading

Reading, shoot someone else--anyone else has a chance of being elim, but if you shoot me I know there's no chance of that. We're no worse off if we exe me and Reading shoots someone else than if we exe Reading and Reading shoots me. And I'll give you more info anyway.

Put your vote back on reading.

Why? If Reading doesn't hit an elim you always have the chance to exe him next cycle.

That's

no

stop

this is an IKYK we want to avoid. Someone can tie the vote now. Get back on reading.

We want ELo to be as clean as possible and that involves killing reading.

There's basically 2 minutes left... I'd rather just NOT have a last minute switch. Even if it means I'm going to get killed.

Cycle Four: Game Over?

“I need to use the bathroom.”

“Hold it in, lad! A dragon could come by at any minute, and now we’ve got the high ground.”

“Not the moral high ground.”

“Who said that? I can’t see nothing in this fog.”

“I really need to use the bathroom now.”

“We didn’t march to the top of a mountain at the crack of dawn just to take a break when the dragons begin their morning fly about.”

“Oh, we’re hunting Eastern Blue Dragons then? They come out at sunrise.”

“How the garlicorice would you know that?”

“Read it on a piece of paper. Someone put it by my bed.”

“I have an idea. Everyone who isn’t a Dragon Bait, raise your hands.”

“Hey, I can’t, I’m holding a heavy crossbow.”

“Gottem! Jillian, get him!”

“Hey. OW.”

“OWaa!”

“I’m back from my bathroom break, what did I miiiiiiiiiii-”

“Oooo, that’s a long drop.”

“They just got tripped right? I was sure I saw someone’s foot knock them over the edge. That’s murder!”

“Oi. It’s not murder until those three hit the grou… Oof. Okay, now it’s murder. Care for some garlicorice? It’s like normal licorice, but it’s made entirely out of garlic.”

I don't think I'll ever understand what Quinn was trying to do at the end there :P.

Anyone have any ideas? :P. I sort of forgot what the plan was from here. I'll go reread C3 and be back.

Edit:

Notes from C3:

Gears first suggested killing Reading, stating that if they flip vil Mat and TJ would look good.

With both Quinn and Reading flipping vil I think that makes TJ look pretty good, no? Illwei's reason for wanting to shoot Quinn then TJ was because Quinn was voting to save TJ and that looked e/e, but that's obviously not the case off of Quinn's flip. With Reading, it means that he wasn't elected via elim power because they just as easily could have elected one of their own if TJ and whoever else voted Reading (besides me) are evil.

Experience pushed Quinn's exe from the start. TUO and Randby have been entirely under the radar, though Randby had an irl reason. I'd probably be fine killing any of those today, but I'll start with Experience. @Archer

Mat and TJ are now not major elim suspects [though technically, they aren't cleared]. An immediate thought: Even if all the villagers manage to pile on to an elim, the elims can just pile on a villager, and then it's an RNG battle. Our chance of winning is 1/2^3 [1/8] in the best scenario, wherein we actually find an elim every time. Maybe Reading should have abstained. A note for any rerunners: You may wish to change the win-con to reaching parity.

Player list:

Gears, Matrim, TJ, Experience, Ruby, Order.

Past vote counts:

C1:

TJ Shade (2): Illwei, Ashbringer

Dannex (4): Flyingbooks, Matrim, Quinn, TJ Shade

C2:

Flyingbooks (3): Matrim's Dice, Reading, TJ Shade
TJ Shade (2): Books, Ashbringer
Matrim's Dice (1): Gears
Quinn (1): Illwei

C3:

Shard of Reading (4): Gears, Illwei, Mat, Quinn

Quinn (2): TJ, Experience

A thought: Mat and TJ seem... remarkably coordinated. [I know we just murdered Reading, but it's just a thought.] I see two possible avenues: 1. We murder one of Ruby, Experience, Order. 2. We murder Mat or TJ. I can envision a world in which only one of Mat and TJ is an elim, which is quite unfortunate. I can also envision a world in which none of them are elims. The problem: Reading and Order haven't done much to distinguish themselves [not a critique or anything, just a note], and perhaps just one of them is an elim.

Secretkeepers: I need you to tell me who the secrets said were elim [because I don't remember]. Perhaps the secrets can be trusted. Do not take their word as gospel, of course, but they might be useful.

I didn't get the messages, but I remember what they were having just read through C3 again. I think a couple of people got one saying Exp was evil, and Exp got one saying TUO was evil. Someone got one saying Illwei seemed village, which that at least we can verify :P.

Posted (edited)

I was actually getting paranoid about Reading/Mat team because if Reading was an elim, Mat could have easily seen me saying vote for Reading, and then decided to vote for Reading while Reading would vote for me for village read. But as Reading flipped vil, I don't see any reason why elim!Matrim would have added onto that vote.

I feel good about Gears too, because Gears was the one who shifted the elimination to Reading stating that if Reading was evil, then that'd be likely that I'd be one as well. Elim!Gears would have known that Reading would flip village, and that would make me look good, and which would be bad for elims because they'd be soft clearing me and Mat, who I'm reading as village.

I see there's atleast one low-active member trying to skirt by the game, and notice Mat voting for Exp. But if Experience is village and if I vote him, elims might hammer in the end. The Unknown Order.

Huh, I was actually feeling the opposite. Mat has been sheeping Illwei and opposing me all game which is why I was getting paranoid of him. But I don't remember elim!Matrim sheeping Illwei before, and Reading flips makes me confident that I do not want to go along with my paranoia in the LyLo cycle.

Not sure why you would think this, although hm looking at the votes maybe? Then you forget that I had to vote against my reads in self-preservation in 2/3 cycles.

I think we should take messages as NAI, as message sender might be a villager or an elim. We have evidence that the messages can be correct as Quinn seemed to have received one that said Illwei was village. But we shouldn't jump to believe the others just for that reason, so NAI it is.

I'm bored. So...

"In honor of our deceased and unlawfully slain Crossbowman, Reading, I have taken up talking to myself."

"That's kinda weird, pikS."

"Shush, pikS. Reading did it, didn't he?"

"Who says Reading wasn't weird?"

"Me. And by default, you."

"Now, that's just unfair."

"Life is unfair. Now, what should we talk about?"

"I dunno."

"*Silence*"

"Welp, that silence was too long."

"Really, pikS? It was only ten seconds."

"How do you know?"

"Because I am the best at counting."

"No, I am!"

"This is pointless."

"Life is pointless."

"That doesn't make sense."

"You said it, not me."

"What?"

And... I'll stop here to spare you. But I could go on...

I'll vote this cycle, but I want to see how people react so I can try to determine which X is the elim-favoured one.

Word spaghetti!

"We're doomed."
"Of course we are. 1/8 chance at victory in the best case."
"I would have hoped that you'd be a bit more optimistic."
"We're the same person."
"Yes, but I'm the one mentioning doom."
"That just means you're the theatre nerd."
"And you're the one that spells it 'manoeuvre' then?"
"Yes. And you're the one with the Doctor Who obsession, oddly enough."
"How'd that happen?"
"Ask the homunculus."
"Am I correct in assuming that we are dying relatively soon?"
"Soon on what time scale? Gecko or galaxy?"
"Human, you ponce."
"Oi, I thought I was the Brit here."
"Neither of us are British."
"Perhaps that's for the best."
"Wyrd is weird from another era."
"Non sequiturs taste like lemons."
"The candy or the fruit?"
"The droplets, like stars."
"Why do you always think of eyes like voids and a hungry smile when you think of the sky?"
"I'm you. Ask yourself."
"I did. Results were inconclusive."
"The sky is hungry."
"What do skies eat?"
"Dreams."
"That doesn't make sense."
"Of course it does. Every time you wish upon a star, the sky eats your dream before it reaches the celestial heavens. That's why wishes don't come true."
"But that's wishes, not dreams."
"You say falling, I say flying."
"That's not how the saying goes!"
"Language is a social construct and you know it."
"Of course I know that. But we should still respect the walls of the City we built."
"We didn't build it, though. They did."
"We helped."
"No we didn't. We weren't there."
"We dreamed it."
"Well... I suppose that's true."
"Wouldn't it be nice to fly, just once?"
"You know it would. D'you think we can kill one of those dragons, eat its heart, and take its wings?"
"Probably not. But it doesn't hurt to try."
"Well, it would hurt to try. It would hurt an awful lot."
"But it would be fun."
"That it would, Micah."
"That's not our name."
"It's a nickname, based on 'myself'."
"That doesn't make sense."
"I know. That's why it's your nickname."
"I have plenty of sense."
"Cents, maybe. Not sense."
"You know those are homonyms."
"Yes. You know I did that on purpose."
"All right, Raze."
"Clever."
"Complimenting yourself is basically boasting."
"That wasn't a compliment."
"Then what was it?"
"Mockery."
"Of course. I'm taking the bow."
"I already did."
"But you're me."
"Yes. But I'm also your shadow."
"Give it back!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"NO!!!"
"How are you hurting me? We're the same person!"
"How are you not hurting me?"
"Wait... you're not me!"
"Took you long enough."
"But I'm the shadow."
"Wait... who's the person then?"
"I think it's the stenographer."
"Ah, that makes sense."
"Back to murder?"
"Of course. Only one person can be the Shadow!"
"We're not people!"
"Semantics!"
"TO WAR!"
"FOR DEATH!"

I have the answer, apparently the ghosts and elims can send messages to people who aren't voting, hence me. If both send the same person, it's random. It also said from Books and co, making me believe it.

Well, that didn't go so well. I honestly don't know who the elims are, so good job I guess? I wouldn't be surprised with a Mat/TJ e/e, but then again I wouldn't be surprised with a TJ v/v. Or any combination in-between really. So, I'm going to go with my gut and vote Matrim

I don’t like that you’re voting based purely off gut. That’s understandable C1 and maybe C2, but at exlo it’s not a good idea. I say this regardless of the fact you’re voting on me- if you were voting on Gears or TJ for gut is point this out too.

Exing Reading was so we could get a good idea of Mat and TJ's alignments, Reading flipped village and so did Quinn, that nearly (but not completely) confirms them.

This is my list of elims:

Gears, Exp, and Random. Exp is by far the most suspicious and least contested of those, so I'm going to vote him. Experience

Yes, I know it's really bad reasoning, but I really don't know what to think rn.

Ok, here's something to go off of. I know I'm not elim, and I'm pretty sure gears is village. So, Unkown Order. (Matrim)

EDIT: Also, all villagers, you have to have to have to get a vote in this turn. If you don't then we automatically lose because elims just put three votes on someone right before rollover. So vote!

My choices are as follows: Vote Order, vote Experience. I do not have the benefit of being the last one, certainty inherent in the board. I just looked at the vote counts, and... and I want to vote Matrim. I really do. But I can't. We need the tie/majority. Matrim is pushing the Experience X. I feel the need to vote Order. It's either Matrim/Order/someone or Experience/someone/someone. Spec/dead, if my decision has just lost us the game, then I lament poor decision making and paranoia's claws. In addition, we only had a 1/8 chance at winning with perfect knowledge of every elim.

Dreamtime slips through the fingers like sand in the sea, sinking down beneath the waves in a scattering of diamond as the pressure turns the stone to quasi and falling through the air on broken wings without feathers to catch the air and bleed bleed bleed bleed from the eyes as the pain spikes and the needles settle into the flesh properly while the ship arcs through the water and claims its due.

"You're wrong, you know."
"I know."
"Then why do you persist?"
"Because I'm wrong about the other one too."
"But that doesn't work."
"Yes, it does."
"No. It has to be one of them."
"Matrim/TJ/Ruby."
"Well, true, but what are the odds?"
"Just as likely as every other team."
"Lamentations."
"Remember, we can't use that word as a replacement for curse words anymore."
"Oh right. To Ash, whenever they read the minutes: How dare you."
"Alternative: Curses."
"But that's dull."
"What else do we have?"
"The internet is not helpful."
"Alas. Does that work?"
"It doesn't have that keen edge of melodrama."
"Does it need a keen edge of melodrama?"
"Of course it does! That's half of the entire Gears persona!"
"What's the other half?"
"Scattered bits of logic, paranoia, fear, panic, indecision, screaming, eyes, needles, wide grins, and a few dozen other things."
"Makes sense."
"So this is the end?"
"Yes. This is the end."
"It was nice to talk to you."
"To you as well. Perhaps we should do this again some time."
"No, when it's not in character, it's considered weird."
"Social construct!"
"To arms, then?"
"Of course! I hereby declare war on the notion of normality."
"Fine, I'll get my sword."
"Do we even have swords?"
"This is a fantasy world. We can steal one from the RP character."
"Ah yes. Did anyone ever figure out who Seba was?"
"I don't think so. I would have thought Fate/stay night was more popular with a group of nerds."
"We aren't indicative of the nerd population."
"True, true."
"I've still got the bow, so you can steal their sword."
"Sword acquired. Now, to war!"
"Do not go gentle into that good night."
"Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

Just going to say, that if I die and Order is lynched and is elim, I would guess that one of Gears/Random is elim and then one other player is elim. This means most likely Random. Unless Order is village and gears is elim and then we just lose...
