A strange similarity between two Cosmere substances
RShara replied to Honorless's topic in Cosmere Discussion
If it were that soft, I don't think they would have been able to make spikes out of them. There's no way something that soft would penetrate tissue, and at least the chimeras were physically spiked, not forming muscles around the spike. -
A strange similarity between two Cosmere substances
RShara replied to Honorless's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Actually, soulstone is grayish with red flecks, not whitish. And it's not very metallic at all. So it's definitely not the same substance. Also, soulstone is good for Stamps just because of it's ease in carving and the hardening properties. A stamp would work just as well if it were made out of wood. Crystal would actually be better, presumably because it's harder so less smudges and more fine edges and the like. -
Stormlight - Chemistry, Physics, or Simply Magic?

Those all talk about higher oxygen content, which does not actually mean a denser atmosphere- 53 replies

Yeah, it's hard to say. Without outside interference, though, it should be a bit less.- 53 replies

I would guess that its pressure is a bit less, due to the lesser gravity. But probably not enough to be noticeable.- 53 replies

That's the only bit that mentions its variance from Cosmere Standard.- 53 replies

I'm curious about where Roshar's atmosphere is denser than Earth's comes from?- 53 replies

Maybe in a new post, since that's not really relevant to this particular topic, which is almost two years old? Also, there are WoBs about that.

Nightblood could eat up smaller perpendicularities. We don't know exactly how much was in the Well, so can't say exactly whether it's small enough or not. Eventually, Nightblood would probably get "full" and possibly explode into bits because he's too full, though. Since he gets pretty woozy and confused after just a few minutes of being drawn and absorbing investiture.

I'm pretty sure that was one of the conclusions in the thread that I linked.

https://coppermind.net/wiki/Roshar#Planetary_System It's spelled Salas there. The moons are more like Mars' moons, very small and more like large asteroids than large moons like Earth's. So while they have some effect on the tides and such, it's not a big one. Also, the moons' orbit (which is impossible, btw) doesn't vary. The moons rise and set at the exact same time every day, in the exact same place. Cusicesh does his thing in the morning, long after the last moon has set. The entire Rosharan system was designed and created by Adonalsium. Honor didn't place the moons at all. You can find a technical discussion of the moons and their orbits in this thread

I replied to your same post in another thread. FYI, this thread is over a year old

The Purelake isn't perfectly flat. The water is, because it's so shallow and still. The lake bed has crevices and crannies and promontories and the like and it varies in depth. And I'm pretty sure the stormward side of Urithiru is flat because it's a giant pane of glass?

I don't think armor is automatic. You need to know how to do it. And Shallan isn't interested in doing so.
-
Except that it does make sense? She swore the first one offscreen, or it was leftover from her being one as a child. Then I'm Frightened/I killed my father/I killed my mother. That makes 4.
-
According to Brandon, Shallan was at the 4th level at the end of WoR, and we don't see her swear anything in Oathbringer, so she's still on the 4th.

What Is Awakening’s Fuel? And a Poster Challenge!
RShara replied to Confused's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I don't have an official theory. I just think that color is drained and it has nothing to do with photons. I'm positive that color would be drained from something that had never been exposed to EMR at all.- 23 replies

I'm sure that the gemstone would work no matter what planet it was mined from, in regards to my question. Gemheart not necessary.- 23 replies

According to Brandon, historically, it hasn't happened before.

It doesn't have to be a universal donor as in it came from a person. Just something like O-.

Jasnah is an Elsecaller, which means she can step into Shadesmar when she wants to, once she learns how to control it. Willshapers also have the Surge of Transportation.
