  1. Jasnah's been surgebinding for about 5-6 years and she's the most sane of them all. There're also the other Skybreakers below Nale, who seem very sane, as well. I agree with the others, the causation is the other way around--they were able to become surgebinders because they were cracked, rather than went crazy because they were surgebinders.

Irish Wolfhounds are a real thing.
  3. Maybe. He wouldn't remember his previous life, since the Returned don't have memories of before they died, so he might not.
  4. I can guarantee that would be a RAFO
  5. Ikr? Thanks, Brandon.
  6. That and the bits about his and his wife's...hmmm...status...on his wedding night.
  7. White Sand, Khriss's origin story, is the earliest cosmere story, I believe, so Khriss, by the time of SA, is probably around 1000-2000 objective years old. However, people seem to have figured out a way to cause and use some sort of time dilation in the Cognitive Realm, and a lot of world hoppers seem able to take advantage of that. So subjectively, she's still within a human-normal lifespan. Though it's not out of the question for her to have acquired enough Breaths for immortality at some point in the last few hundred years.
  8. Odium is trapped in the Rosharan system, so he's forced to take measures that he wasn't interested in taking on other planets. On Sel, he was able to Splinter the Shards, shove them in the CR, and leave, so he didn't need to affect the people or the geography or the investiture (other than Splintering it). Threnody, we don't know a ton about, but the Shades are almost certainly due to the aftershocks of Ambition's Splintering/power. I find it likely that small or large chunks of Ambition's investiture have gotten stuck on Threnody and are affecting it.
  9. More some of the details about his wedding night.
  10. Perpendicularities are concentrations of investiture intense enough to pierce all three Realms. So yeah, by definition, a perpendicularity allows access to the Physical, Cognitive, and Spiritual.
  11. As Karger said, it would have taken some time. In the beginning, it seemed more a partnership than a conflict. They worked together to create the entire planet and all the life on it, after all. Plus humans. Ruin probably was still pretty friendly with Preservation up till Pres locked him away.
  12. This was long before their conflict really escalated, and not long after their "deal" so I don't think Ruin was watching as closely or quite so enimical toward Preservation at the time. Remember that Ati used to be a pretty nice and kind guy.
  13. There's no particular reason why, with his mind whole, he can't just create a physical manifestation of himself and simply talk to someone. He was able to make himself seen and semi-heard when he was barely sapient any more, as the mist spirit, after all.
  14. They do, but that doesn't require sand mastery to use.
  15. I don't think Hoid has sand mastery. There's no point where he uses sand in any similar manner to the sand masters on Taldain. Also, just being a Mistborn results in too many powers to have a Resonance. Adding sand mastery into that would make it even less likely for him to have any kind of a Resonance. It's very unlikely that he's referring to Scadrial. No gods have died on Scadrial, for instance (The Vessels died but not the power). And we saw his encounter with Kelsier. He didn't "learn" anything there. There're also no lands meeting in Scadrial. It's far more likely he's referring to Yolen and his original master, that he took the name "Hoid" from.
  16. They were planted by Preservation way back when.
  17. I mean, we know the abandonment of Urithiru happened before the Recreance, right? The gemstones were definitely recorded before Melishi's plan, and several of them mention how the Sibling had been withdrawing for a while. So I don't think the timeline works out for the Sibling to withdraw after the Recreance.
  18. Do you mean per person, or overall? Elantris is a giant Aon, and contains countless Aons within it. It doesn't seem like the initial writer has anything to do with the Aon once it's powered up, so I don't see there being a limit. Heck, there had to be multiple people involved in the Elantris Aon, since Raoden is the one who "fixed" it. So it's not like it even needs to be any single person that makes each one. An Aon assembly line should be feasible.

    Elemental spren

I love your work! I got a print of your Emotion spren as a gift! I have a question about the flamespren. In WoK they're described as insect-like, but in OB they are described as vaguely human formed. I suspect they can change shape. Do you think it'd be a good idea to represent both forms? --Way of Kings Prologue. --Oathbringer Chapter 36.
  20. I think you might be reading too much into the RAFOs. Remember that RAFOs don't necessarily mean that something is there. They can be anything from "I haven't decided yet" to "I want to see what crazy theories you guys come up with."
  21. Feruchemy came about as the natural result of the interaction of the two Shards on Scadrial. The fact that they were later combined might affect it a little, but since both Shards are still present (more or less), it should essentially be the same. Just the two Shards in the same location is enough for the magic to evolve. I don't think the magic systems were directly created by any of the Shards. I think that they are a natural result of the Shard Investing in the planet, and an interaction between the Shardic power and the nature of the planet.
  22. Mmmmm actually, I'm pretty sure it's because you need the trauma to get enough cracks in your spiritweb to let the investiture flow through. Vin Snapped during her birth trauma, for instance.
  23. It's clearly a service offered at Shadesmar(t), the Greatest Shopping Center in the Cosmere!
