I think Hoid just wants as many types of investiture that he can get, not necessarily one of each type of investiture on a planet. And yeah he's not going to be dumb enough to call attention to himself by trying to become a Bondsmith or trying to draw on Odium's investiture.

Aon Ati was because when Brandon was going out with his to-be-wife, she was a teacher. And in her class was a girl named Matisse, who submitted a book report on Elantris (which, of course, Brandon wrote). He was so tickled by that, he wrote Hope of Elantris as a present for her, and the only Aon that he could get to work with her name was Ati. And of course, Ati would predate Aon by....a really long time.

I doubt they would have been taken offworld. But there's really no clue so far as to where the missing Shardblades are. Lots of theories, few solid facts, so it's really hard to say.

The singers are pretty different from the Sho Del. The Sho Del are fainlife, so their entire ecology is antithetical to anything that humans (and therefore singers) can survive on (since humans and singers can survive on the same things).

I think he's used different methods for each Splintering so far. He shoved D&D into the Cognitive, wasn't even present for Ambition's, and then whatever he did to Honor.
-
Nightblood was made long after the Recreance, and on Nalthis, not Roshar, anyway. So it wouldn't work out.

We see a deadeye in Oathbringer--Ico's father. Ico keeps his father locked in a room on his ship so that he doesn't wander off to whereever his Physical body is being held. And when they're summoned, spren are the Shardblade, not in the gem. So I don't think it works like a fabrial, really. It seems like the gem functions a little bit in the place of the Nahel bond, fascillitating enough of a connection between the person and the spren to get the spren to "live" a little when summoned. That would fit with why Radiants hear the spren screaming when they touch a summoned dead Shardblade.

Because it still takes two lives to make one kandra. Sazed and the kandra both aren't particularly interested in doing that in order to make more kandra.

Have you read Secret History?

I feel like you are underestimating the number of times I have said that My topic thread is in the works, somewhere alongside the Ti s a plant topic that I also mean to write (again) one day.
-
That sounds far too efficient for me.

You can find lots and lots of arguments on this. Search for Odium+Passion here and on Arcanum. I'm not at a place where I can quote them all to you, but yes, it's pretty much settled. I mean, he's literally the only one that calls himself passion. Everyone, Frost, Hoid, Syl and the Stormfather, all consider him Hatred. So does Brandon, actually.
-
Odium isn't Passion. He's lying to everyone, including himself, when he tries to convince them of that.
-
Except Odium is Hatred, not Anger?

Soulcasting restrictions are more on the destination substance, rather than the originating substance. So you can Soulcast from just about anything, but only Soulcast to certain things (increasing with practice and knowledge).

Brandon said that Vivenna was in OB before it was released, so a lot of people made the connection that way.

I think it'd be best to create a new topic in the relevant forum for this discussion, rather than clutter up this already insanely long thread

The discussion moved over here, since this thread is about something else, and is old

You probably want to make a new thread for any theories or questions you have. This thread is from quite a while ago and is outdated.

Allomantic metals being just "keys" And metal being solid investiture
RShara replied to King of Herdaz's topic in Mistborn
Coming over from the other thread -
They glow due to the power trying to come through them, not because they themselves are invested. Edit: I see you opened another thread on the matter. Let's move this all over there.

Allomantic metals being just "keys" And metal being solid investiture
RShara replied to King of Herdaz's topic in Mistborn
Just because some metal is solidified investiture, doesn't mean all metal is. Iron, steel, silver, all those guys are really just metal, no more or less invested than any other object. The god-metals are the exception, not the rule. The god metals are solidified investiture, and are in a class of their own, separate from regular metals. Edit: Spelling
