  1. Taln was a Stoneward, not a Bondsmith. Also, 9 seems to be the number associated with Odium's doings, so having ten would be very weird for him.
  2. Oops, I left that one out.
  3. I ran across this WoB today that I find seriously interesting and seems to hint that your theory could be correct.
  4. Hoid was present at the Shattering, he thought it was kinda necessary, and he was offered a Shard. Plus his immortality is due to the remnants of the weapon used to Shatter Adonalsium. So he was certainly involved. But the Shattering wasn't by one person, so he's not the one who Shattered Adonalsium, but he was certainly resent and at least partially involved. Supplementary WoBs:
  5. They talk about feet and inches quite a bit, though the Rosharan foot is a bit longer than ours, if I remember correctly. They also have miles mentioned.
  6. He does brooding pretty well, though from what I've seen.
  7. What I'm saying is that the silver circle is pretty big. And she's indoors, behind several walls. So they might not be close enough to enrage, anyway.
  8. Thank you! Also, again, Keanu is a really nice guy, but he really doesn't have the acting ability to play Kaladin. He's good at looking stiff and expressionless, but Kaladin has a lot of nuance to him. Not to mention, as Wintersu said, he's about 20 years too old. Godfrey Gao is my current pick, although there are a few others who would work. Or Alex Landi. Or Max Willems. Or, or, or...
  9. She might be being extra cautious, but it is a strong argument in your favor. It just seems like a very weird thing! Regardless, her inn is inside the silver circle, so she should be safe. Or it might be that they're only drawn to dead things' blood at night? She says something about how they're far more aggressive at night than in the day. IIRC, you can run during the day, but not at night. Inside her protection, in the day, being careful, should work, I'd think. You might also be able to hang the deer (or body, whatever), upside down so that the blood mostly drains into a properly lined sack before butchering it?
  10. I see what you're saying now. I think it's still unclear and could go either way.
  11. No? They killed him just in time. If he hadn't died, the blood would have made the Shades enrage. Here, some more context might help. Not, "We got the bag just in time," but "We killed him in time." His death being a factor in the Shades not enraging.
  12. Mmmm did you read the quotes from the book? As soon as the person died, the blood was no longer any irritant to the Shades.
  13. She would also take it home to butcher it, safe behind the silver circle. But it seems like once the person was dead, she could open the sack (to get the next person) without very much danger.
  14. We see from SH that Sazed and Kelsier only spoke for a moment and not about the Well, in the minutes between when Sazed was done fixing the world and when he disappeared (and presumably left the Words of Founding). So it's plausible enough that Sazed didn't know that Hoid had taken a bead. He didn't even know who Hoid was when he received the Letter during SA.
  15. So I've actually got a big chunk of quartz and smoky quartz, and I've tried shining a light through it. The light's white both times, it's just muted with the smoky quartz. Not the best pictures, but I'm not at a place where I can take my own right now and I'd need three hands, anyway!
  16. I personally think that he's trapped in the solar system, not on a specific planet. Though he might have chosen one to be a home base while he was stuck. Frost says as much in his letter.
  17. Hahaha fair enough. I'm trying to say, I've actually shone a light through a smokestone (smoky quartz) and the light is basically white, just has a kinda different quality to it.
  18. I don't know if BioChroma will give you a Resonance, since it doesn't seem to interact with your spiritweb as much (it can't really be spiked out, for instance). But having one Scadrian ability and one...say, Rosharan surge, should work. But having too many powers together makes it so there's too much interference to get a Resonance. So Hoid wouldn't get one, since he has so many.
  19. Smokestone and Diamond give basically the same color light. Smokestone is just dimmer...more muted? https://coppermind.net/wiki/Spheres
  20. They're generally done at the 10th Anniversary. WoK should be late next year, I believe.
  21. It's akin to naming someone Peter or John. VaraTreledees, as one of the Five Scholars, was reverred and remembered, so people name their children after them. Yep, he's Arsteel. You should read the Warbreaker Annotations. They're free on Brandon's site and are like a whole extra half a book worth of background info! Though the Warbreaker ones do stray into TMI a couple times... *side eyes Brandon*.
  22. One quibble so far: Not necessarily. Other than that, your theory is a very possible ending. I'm not sure I like it, but it's definitely plausible. I have nothing more to add than RAFO!
  23. ..I guess it depends on your definition of FTL. If it beats a beam of light from Point A to Point B, I call it FTL.
  24. Remember that what Sazed showed Wax was a representation, not necessarily what is happening or the color that it actually is. Right but the Vessel, Bavadin, is technically female. I think that's what they were referring to.
