  2. It depends on how it was done, I suspect. So far, no two methods that Odium has used has been immediately or completely effective, and none of them have been the same. D&D were crammed into the Cognitive. Ambition was mortally wounded, and died away from him. Honor took hundreds or thousands of years to die.
  3. Brandon said that he hasn't given us enough info to figure out how Era 4 FTL is going to work, as of the end of Bands of Mourning. So it's almost certainly more complicated/different than that.
  4. We don't know how FTL will be accomplished, just that it will be existent. I think it's speculation, there are a few threads that speculate on the nature of the Era 4 FTL.
  5. The Royal Locks are a little different. They're still somewhat alive until they've been detached from the scalp. The WoB is a little confused/confusing, but I'm pretty sure he's saying that the first cut wouldn't cut off the hair, and the person would only afterward be able to change the color of the hair between the cut and the scalp.
  6. You can see my picks on an earlier page. Chow Yun Fat would be okay. Ken Watanabe or Donnie Yen would work really well.
  7. Nah, that was just a parrot, iirc. Mraize's is an aviar.
  8. Definitely not. Keanu is a really nice guy but his acting is very much not up to carrying off Dalinar.
  9. I feel like this thread has gone wildly off topic, and that the Q&A forum isn't the easiest place to have a discussion, since posts can get disordered, due to the default sorting.
  10. I would imagine he uses the scientific definition of a metal. met·al /ˈmedl/ noun noun: metal; plural noun: metals; noun: road metal; plural noun: road metals 1. a solid material that is typically hard, shiny, malleable, fusible, and ductile, with good electrical and thermal conductivity (e.g., iron, gold, silver, copper, and aluminum, and alloys such as brass and steel). A substance with high electrical conductivity, luster, and malleability, which readily loses electrons to form positive ions (cations). Metals are otherwise defined according to their position on the Periodic Table. https://www.thoughtco.com/definition-of-metal-604570
  11. It hasn't been confirmed that they are Era 4 Scadrians, though it does seem likely. No, we haven't had any other stories set that far in the future yet.
  12. I'm sorry, but this is wrong. I mean, Ryshadium don't change forms, don't have carapace, don't pupate, have fur, red blood and only four legs. They very much don't resemble any native Rosharan life-form.
  13. No, because Harmony is still alive. Cognitive Shadows can only be formed after the physical body dies. A CS is the remnant (or copy) of the mind or soul that has managed to persist after death. If your question is if Harmony has a self-aware Splinter, like the Nightwatcher, my guess would be no. He has the kandra and other agents to do his work, I don't know if he has a need for a Splinter. Unless it's something he's doing to keep his extra Ruinous investiture under control.
  14. Oxidized metals aren't really metals any more. Like sodium is a metal, but sodium chloride isn't a metal, it's table salt, and it can't be pushed. Likely *some* oxides could be pushed, but some can't.
  15. But as I said, aluminum is more complicated than that to refine, and also is mixed in with rock and other non-metallic substances.
  16. Do you mean originally or currently? Originally, they were just horses brought over with the humans, that have started to form spren bonds.
  17. Again, it would depend on what the source ore was made of. Gold is generally in nuggets or veins and doesn't really need refining, iirc. If it were the pure metal in a non-metallic rock, then yes it should work. I feel like it would be end-negative to waste a coinshot or lurcher that way, though. You'd likely spend more metals than you'd get out of it.
  18. Mmmm most ores are a mix of metal and non-metallic rock. So they could probably push any non-aluminum metal away, sure, but that wouldn't be very helpful in refining aluminum since it'd still be mixed in with the rock. Aluminum refining is also...really complicated, and really needs a decent control of electricity.
  19. You can't normally draw from something that's alive. If you cut off the Royal Locks, they can then be used to fuel Awakening, and I think they would be a really good fuel.
  20. Hoid, Demoux, Felt, maybe the unknown kandra. So that's 3-4, at least. Maybe more that we haven't recognized.
  21. Yeah, the end of AoL makes it pretty clear what's going on with Marsh.
  22. Have you read Era 2?
