Or, since Investiture is never actually used up, the power that Nightblood burns through would immediately return to Odium, resulting in no actual change?
-
I think he possibly could, but would that mean he becomes Odium instead? Either that or eventually the Shard regains sentience and you have another Odium.
-
Brandon said he's not sure if he'll ever write the story of what happened, but that we would find out what happened that caused Vasher to lose Nightblood. Warbreaker is a prequel for Vasher and Nightblood, so it for sure happens before SA.

We've only seen a small percentage of the Rosharan population, but of those, we've seen at least six unaccounted-for Shards, so I'm still staying with my theory that there are just a lot that have been lost or that Dalinar just doesn't know about. 1 Blade and 1 Plate with Eshonai 1 Blade and 1 Plate with Helaran 1 Blade with Lyss, The Weeper 1 Blade with Nalan/Darkness

Scadrial+Roshar. A Fullborn with access to Stormlight, and really any of the surges + fabrials would be nigh unstoppable.

The Circle of Memories in the Kholinar Palace/Temple complex is described as the same as the room in Stormseat that operates the Oathgate. Palaces and Temples are usually in the middle of the city, or close to it, so that's likely where the Oathgate is as well. Here is the link to the thread for the translation of Jasnah's notes, that include speculations on Urithiru, and the locked Oathgate. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6619-shallans-drawing-page-354-alethi-script-translation-spoilers/?hl=%2Bshallan+%2Bdrawing

We have a WoB that a Blade is the default form of a spren whose KR has broken his/her oath, assuming she/he got that far in the ideals.

I thought this thread was going to be about people addicted to the cosmere too! Seriously though, yeah, Investiture in general seems to be addicting. Have a WoB!

Yes, they would. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/7267-words-of-brandon-compiled-x-2/?p=119912 http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/7267-words-of-brandon-compiled-x-2/?p=119918 Edit to add links

Yeah I'm not sure either. He seemed to be the one arguing that they could happen off screen. *shrugs and spins around wildly*

I'm with happyman. The Death Rattles are very clear once they've happened, and we haven't seen anything that really comes close other than very metaphorically--more so than I think they are meant to be. Aleksiel, I believe Shaggai was trying to point out that if Death Rattles can happen off-screen, then any of them might have already taken place, and we just didn't get to see them. In WoK in Kharbranth, we see that they kill the people by draining the blood through a vein in their elbows.

Stupid is as Stupid Does - What we have seen and expect to see

Well, initially, Shallan didn't have any solid proof that the parshmen were going to become voidbringers. She barely managed to convince them to leave the parshmen behind. After that, they tried to let the other nations know what would happen to the parshmen, but most didn't believe them. Also, killing defenseless parshmen seems like it would be against the whole Journey before destination thing. The parshmen aren't a direct threat until they become voidbringers. It's the difference between killing in cold blood and killing in a fight. -
Odium's spren can inhabit Chasmfiends during the Everstorm

I'm espousing the theory that greatshells are meant to be allied with humans and humans have been hunting them to near-extinction. Because I love the delicious irony. -
That sounds like it could be a good thing to ask Brandon. We do know that an inanimate object with enough Breaths does indeed gain sentience, but Divine Breaths are a bit different.

Added this to the top thread From Emperor's Soul personalization signing Ninch http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/theninch/sandersonanswerbigger_zps1501bca5.jpg http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m104/theninch/sandersonanswer_zps1e0737eb.jpg Q: Could a person soulcast more Atium and Lerasium if they had a bead? A: No. Investiture messes things like that up.

No, anorexia and malnutrition are two different things. Anorexia would mean that she's convinced that she's overweight, and constantly starves herself in order to lose it. Lift has a healthy appetite from what we can see, she just ends up possibly getting malnourished because she's burning up all the excess fat in the conversion to Stormlight.

Well, Kaladin was going at lots of G's at that point, so high mass+high acceleration over a relatively small area (his feet) means lots of Force. With a Steelpush, the max Force that can be applied is equal to the weight of the anchor, usually the mass of the person Pushing the coins. Since coins are a lot less massive than a person, the coins can go pretty fast. If Kelsier were to anchor himself to the point where he could Push the coins to the speed that Kaladin was going, he'd end up breaking his own bones, and Pewter wouldn't be able to heal nearly that fast. He'd need almost that amount of force in order to even make hairline cracks. A duralumin fueled Pewter+Steelpush would probably crack the Shardplate, and keep him from getting squished, but I don't think regular Steelpushes would do it.

That's interesting. I wonder if it's related to why gemstones can hold Stormlight (Investiture)?

An update on current speculation and facts
RShara replied to king of nowhere's topic in Stormlight Archive
Shallan is good about not thinking about things she doesn't want to think about, particularly unpleasant ones. -
I agree with your observations, though I think those disorders are symptoms of their breaking, rather than a cause or influence thereof.
-
Stormlight/Surgebinding seems to be addictive, so yes, too much Investiture can change you in odd ways. The most obvious of these are the people who flare their metals too much for too long in Mistborn, but we've seen instances in SA, too. The soulcasters (people) who use fabrials to Soulcast are clearly being changed by using the fabrials. All of the main surgebinders so far have remarked on how good it felt to hold in Stormlight, and how they tend to do so unwittingly. I don't think this will necessarily open them up more to Odium's influence, though. It might change them Physically, Cognitively and Spiritually, but I think there needs to be an extra something to open them up to a Shard's direct influence. If their actions lead them to be mentally unbalanced, or to be more hateful than honorable, then yes, I think they could then start to be influenced by Odium, but it wouldn't be directly related their ability to Surgebind.
