  1. If Adolin manages to do that spoilerything with his Shardblade, then it'd be very similar to pulling the Sword from the Stone, too. (Also, it still says Author in the title for me).
  2. I want Odium's champion to be Nalan or Jezrien. I don't think a champion will necessarily need to be Invested with super-amounts of that Shard's power, although having that would give that person an advantage. It'll be whoever is most appropriate for that type of duel, I hope. As to who will appoint said champion, I would go for either the Stormfather, or Dalinar, or both cooperatively.
  3. Erm, do you mean ARTHUR? Author is rather a different word completely. I don't think there's a lot of resemblance. I've read pretty much all of the Arthurian literature out there, and Merlin is always a willing (or at least consenting) participant to events. He engineered Arthur's birth and protection as a child, led him to the Sword in the Stone, helped him get Excalibur. And I don't think he was ever much of a warrior. Adolin didn't need to go into hiding as a child, was raised by his mother and father, has a brother, and never had his birthright questioned, nor did he need to prove it. If anything, there might be a slight Arthur/Lancelot/Guinevere resemblance, with Adolin and Kaladin both getting interested in Shallan; Adolin being Arthur as heir to a title, honored, kind, and brave; Kaladin being Lancelot with his intensity and insane combat skills.
  4. For Stormlight, use a gemstone of the same cut and carat, preferably from a greatshell, since it wouldn't have any impurities that way.
  5. I'm with Moogle. It sounds like he just Lashed the tarp to Adolin. However, it could also be great foreshadowing for book 3!
  6. Okay, then I added nalesean, darniil, and rossnewberry's Q&A's to the thread.
  7. Weiry, do we have a full recording yet of the latest Waygate Q&A's?
  8. Not by WoB, but I think it's pretty clear.
  9. I wonder if the fact that the Great Red Spot of Jupiter is slowly shrinking has anything to do with it.
  10. In the Waygate thing at Jordancon, he said all 10 PoV characters had been decided. But he didn't say who they were! (Yes, I will add it to the WoB thread soon).
  11. I think Brandon decided against having a second Kaladin book, but I'm not sure who the fifth character is. Kobold King Also, WoB is that the second set takes place 10 in-world years after the end of the first set.
  12. If they're willing to give up some of their power, I think it would be possible. There were spren around before Honor splintered, and Cultivation (probably) isn't splintered, so they've done that.
  13. If that were the case, cities that are protected on the east wouldn't have survived.
  14. I know my brain is (rapidly) rotating due to this puzzle!
  15. It's not to ignore erosion, it's to give him a means to explain how the continent still exists at all. Also Peter said the information needed to find Easter egg isn't cosmere-related.
  16. I haven't seen very much from JordonCon yet. I'm really hoping someone recorded something, or posts a big list of questions soon.
  17. lookingglass: Those are saved for the future
  18. WoB is that it's very hard to drain the Stormlight from an active set of Shards.
  19. These are all the Q&A's I've been able to gather about Stormlight Archive/the Cosmere since the release on March 4th
  20. Wasn't there a quote from in-world WoR about Bondsmiths discovering some way to stop the voidbringers?
  21. I thought it was because they wore Parshendi bones on their bridgeruns. Nice find though Gravy!
  22. Hmmm didn't know about that. Thanks! That makes it pretty likely that there'll be some sort of technologicaly component to FTL.
  23. I think the parshmen are susceptible to voidform because they don't have any spren at all. The Parshendi have spren, so that "blocks" the voidspren from entering them. They have to willingly transform to voidform.
