MR74: The Politics of Gods
Araris Valerian replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
No, you should strive to occasionally be the folk that other folks follow. As Lirin would say (paraphrased), “Someone must do what is right, because it is right. Only then can others follow.” -
MR74: The Politics of Gods
Araris Valerian replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Correct. Though I’m not sure what the two words has to do with anything. Voting C1 is necessary to generate discussion. But some votes are better at it than others, and IMO retaliatory votes are pointless on the same level as poke votes (the sort that are immediately retracted after the recipient posts). Presumably, you’d unvote me if I moved/canceled my vote, which removes most of the threat of death. There’s also no basis for you to convince anyone else to vote on me. On the flip side, I’d encourage anyone who thinks any early C1 retaliatory vote is anti-village to join my vote on you. And I like my votes to be a bit sticky. I’m generally of the opinion that anyone who claims to know what they are doing C1 is overestimating their own abilities. I would suggest occasionally trying to switch things up and look to place a vote that other players piggyback on. Doesn’t really matter who it’s on, but you can only get so far by following other folks. And if you’re elim, it will give your team a leg up. -

This reads to me like you are rather uninterested in solving the game. -

Striker Striker Kasimir / Claincy Xinoehp Elandera Wiz Archer Archer Aeoryi Drake Aeoryi Kasimir/Drake/Hael Drake Araris Valerian Sart Polly A Joe in the Bush BridgeBoi TUN Polly TwinStorm Hoid Slayer Here's the whole MR list. Don't have the time right now to switch all of these to pings.
-
@xinoehp512 @Elandera @The Wandering Wizard @Archer @Aeoryi Since Aman's game will be going with extended signups, the next MR should be decided upon and posted. This is the top of the current list.
-
The current policy is that players should only sign up for a new slot if they don't have one for that type of game yet. Some folks have multiple slots that they are holding, but we changed the rule this year so the wait time for new GMs would come down a bit.
-
Depends on the format. I'd estimate around year or a bit longer for a LG, though there's a lot of variance there since there are some low-active GMs on the list. Similar thing for MRs. For a QF the list is much shorter, so ~4-8 months roughly.
-
I will be the Impartial Mod for this game. My character will be the moon, I suppose. Pretty sure it treats everyone equally.

We should probably start working on the next LG as well, since the QF will end within a week at the most based on player count. Current List is: @Experience @Steeldancer @xinoehp512 @The Wandering Wizard @Ashbringer @Amanuensis Target start time would be roughly 2 weeks from now, maybe a bit later.

Hello! I suggest you check out our Welcome Thread for how to get started. If you decide to play, you should also skim through the Rules and Etiquette Thread before the game fully starts. I or the GM would be happy to answer any questions you have beyond what you can find there!- 392 replies

They both responded on Discord, so Aeoryi is running the game, and I'll be the IM.
-
This is largely a formality, but do either @Steeldancer or @StrikerEZ want to run the next QF? Otherwise it will go to @Aeoryi.
-
I think the game was mechanically balanced. We had all the info we needed to solve the game during D3, distro-wise. I just had too much of a bias toward TJ to be able to swap onto Sart once he claimed Coinshot to me. Not to mention his D3 post was decently convincing. Of course, the fact that the game was fairly solvable based on the distro could be a problem itself. Thanks to @StrikerEZ for running the game, and to @little wilson for IMing! I hadn't played a "standard" LG for quite some time now, and I had a lot of fun. Chatting with @Doc12 and @|TJ| was great, even if we never got things figured out.

Long Game 107: The End of the World
Araris Valerian replied to StrikerEZ's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yeah, there is. I don't think he would claim something like that though, not when it would become obvious after tonight. Edit: Figured I’d do a role dump here since I might not live the night. Walin, TUO, and KSauce have claimed Thug. Sart has claimed Coinshot. Biplet has claimed Smoker. TwinStorm has claimed Tineye. I’m an Augur (which seems a bit useless now that TJ is dead). Adding the dead roles of Seeker, Soother, Lurcher, Oracle, and Vanilla gives the current distro. TwinStorm, Biplet, and KSauce are almost certainly being honest. Sart might be a Mistborn, and the same with TUO and Walin. I guess KSauce could be one that pulled an extra life (between Oracle, Thug, and Lurcher, it’s not that unlikely). @StrikerEZ, if an Oracle survives an attack, is it announced like a Thug/Lurcher survival? -
Long Game 107: The End of the World
Araris Valerian replied to StrikerEZ's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, I think we're hosed unless there are only 2 elims, or Sart shoots an elim tonight. This is the part of the game where it's a bit unfortunate all the Thugs have claimed and that we exed our Lurcher. If we are in a 2-elim world then Sart is one of them or I'm very glad to have not been an elim this game. -
Long Game 107: The End of the World

Well, I'm gonna go back on TJ. Just gonna trust that the version of me at the start of the day knew what he was doing.
