From Kurkistan actually Although that only confirms that it is possible for the original owner to do so, it doesn't technically state that there isn't another way. "From Brandon" note on page 340. So again it only confirms that it is possible one way or another without explicitly saying which party needs to be manipulating identity. So it may be possible to steal someone else's metalminds by using aluminium yourself, but we don't really ahve any evidence to support it. Simply a lack of proof against it.

Source This quote seems to indicate that as long as the metal is at least partially in their body allomancers can burn it. Depending on where the metal was it wouldn't be very enjoyable though.

I really hope the new system has worldbringer and worlsinger
-
Yay! That's a pretty big milestone. Man has the site traffic increased in the past few months
-
Ah good. It is somewhat entertaining
-
I have to ask, will this rank be staying the same with the new system?

That could be fun. Personally I would love an Alloy of Law movie. I think it would work very well given how cinematic and action focused it is compared to most other books of Brandon's. Beyond that it is funny and very enjoyable. I just think it would make an excellent action movie. (Normally action movies aren't really my thing. But that would be awesome if done right.)

I think that hopping between worlds constantly would be too hard for anyone to get into, and frankly the main plots of the series are only loosely connected to eachother in any direct fashion. However doing separate tv shows for each series, one for Scadrial, one for Roshar etc etc would work well. Then once the main plots of each individual world have been resolved there could be one full cosmere tv show. Basically I am suggesting in the exact same fashion as Brandon is writing his novels

Which Shardworld would you most like to live on?

I wonder about this too (mine are hazel as well). I'm guessing that the Alethi don't have people with that kind of eye-colour, they are either notably lighter or notably darker. I think they would find us rather confusing. Or, just think we were from a different race, which, I suppose, we are I think allomancy is just too awesome, it might have to be Scadrial in AoL (or later) era for me. -

All good Heh, I seriously doubt it. -
Book Personalization: Shared Compounding

I wasn't talking about Kurk's stuff. I was talking about mine, saying that it wasn't worth a new thread, hence why I posted it here. -
Book Personalization: Shared Compounding
Claincy replied to Kurkistan's topic in Events and Signings
There isn't anything especially new here so I don't think it is worth creating a new thread for. My signed/personalized copies of TES and AOL just arrived. With TES I asked if he could give me a new hint on aluminium's special properties/interactions with the metallic arts and got a totally expected RAFO I think just about any alu question will get RAFO'd atm, I should probably stop trying With AOL I asked what Kelsier thought of them putting Elend on the throne/how that changed. So pretty much what I had figured. In case anyone wants to see: -
Changing the duration would slow the wpm, but it might be more enjoyable when reading for leisure. Can't really know without trying. New words would be a bigger problem.
-
Huh, that is really cool. Though it feels rather strange to start with. The biggest problem I can see with it atm is if you get distracted for a moment or want to reread a little bit for any other reason. I assume they will include some form of skipback function but it would still be harder. One other thing that would be nice perhaps is an option for the exact time a word stays on-screen being related to it's length. I think that could make it feel more natural and flow better internally.
-
(I thought I posted this last night, but I guess I must have navigated away before hitting post :/) Anyway, the Brandon ones are very cool I particularly like Syl.

Welcome to the 17th shard Teccam! You can find a couple more of Brandon's short stories here. Elantris: The Hope of Elantris Defending Elesyum Firstborn I Hate Dragons All are available and worth reading

I...foresee Maw and Clan not getting along well. That upstart should learn some respect for his elders!

(I don't know how possible this is, though I am guessing it would be too hard to be worthwhile. But in case I am wrong.) I find it frustrating at times when old posts I have made get rep and I have no clue where the rep came from. (I'm still happy about the rep of course. ) But it would be nice if there was a way to see recent upvotes/downvotes ordered by the time of the actual upvote/downvote instead of the post date.

I'm in, hopefully I'll survive the first night this time Clan is a grumpy old man, he helps out in the fields when he feels up to it. He was old enough when they left the plantations and is self professedly too old to learn any new job. His hearing isn't very good any more and he has a tendency to mutter to himself, but doesn't realize that his muttering is easily audible. To represent this I will be adding text in white to each post to represent his grumpy mutterings. (Nothing that I type should be taken seriously, it is just Clan being a grumpy old fart ) What doya think you're lookin' at? The game aint started yet.

That is, to my memory, the only in-canon quote on shelldry ever The MAG mentions it a bit with a sort of method of playing it based off the MAG mechanics. It isn't really playing the game so much as rolling for the outcome of rounds. :/ The thing about requiring a 4th player doesn't fit perfectly with my rules, though I personally think that these rules would work best with 4-6 players. Close enough though
-
A couple of the more rule specific notes: Joining a network cost a set amount of AP like a trait (probably 4) and, also like a trait, it costs less AP to change a network. (probably 2) They misread the question regarding if there would be a character sheet/stats for rashek. Perhaps my fault with my phrasing as I noted that Kadrok was the one asking the question. They thought that "Kadrok" was the name of some terrisman from back in Alendi's time So what they did say is that they focused on stating out and developing Tindwyll and that they didn't do stats etc for Kwaan or other early age Terris. Edit: They also noted at this point that they are interested in potentially doing fan supplement/s.

Theoretically maybe. I think you might need to store each sort of "chunk" of memories individually which means a complete memory wipe would take a very long time. You would have to store your memory of feruchemy last of course. (You would also need a lot of copper.) You seem to be able to dump memories in copper rather fast as Sazed notes dumping whole books into and out of his metalminds. However I would guess that you can only store chunks of related data. I could of course be wrong.

The key was more a side effect of making the font I have translated the whole thing, I shouldn't really post it though, being dead and all. Oh...right....dead, gotcha, bye. Good luck all! At least one person will expect me to put a message here, so here it is.

Ok, I don't have time to write up a huge post just now so I'll paste in some things I've said previously and link to other potentially useful threads. This is copied from a message I wrote for the same purpose for someone else when they were planning to run their first game (a once off rather than a campaign.) Some of this is really just general narrating advice. A few notes specifically from what you said (some are mentioned in the MAG book, but are very important so bear reiterating): -Don't introduce feruchemy or have any mistborn. If they don't know the setting it is too much at once. -Focus on the fun, don't get bogged down in an argument, make a decision and move on -You, as the narrator, have the final say on everything -If the players come up with an awesome idea, work with them to make it happen. -The rules are more like "guidelines" than actual rules, don't be afraid to ignore the rules where they get in the way. Some links: A discussion of how to solve some of the problems that plague groups new to the MAG. http://www.crafty-games.com/forum/index.php?topic=7487.0 A bunch of basic "newbie" questions and answers http://www.crafty-games.com/forum/index.php?topic=6359.0 Over on steelministry we have a short game going where we try to assassinate the lord ruler. It can be read without creating an account here: http://steelministry.com/viewforum.php?f=53 (It has the character sheets, the planning and the actual job, it is nearly over now.) There are a couple of links to recordings of sessions/narrator's notes on this thread: http://www.crafty-games.com/forum/index.php?topic=6843.0 In general, crafty games forums are a good place to ask questions and find answers. Hopefully some of that helps Good luck!
