There's no way I can make this work fantastically for everyone sadly, the thing is that I need to start it at a time when I will have the time to pm everyone their roles etc. The days and nights will all last 48 hours so hopefully everyone should have some time in that where they have an opportunity to post, the game will also start on a day cycle so the serious killing and voting won't start till the night. I was trying to choose a time that would suit more people, here's a better idea though. If everyone could please write in this google doc the time (in GMT) that will best suit them for the start of days and nights. Due to the 48 hour time the writeups should always fall at this time. I will try to find a time that I can do that best suits the most people. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gbT1RJ-z3uZgOGQnSYrig5e8C5gdkEPEAvLf_ecRzgg/edit Hopefully this will give us the best time to use.

Welcome mate Yeah I know this guy.

Don't worry, due to the sheer number of new rules and systems people are bound to forget stuff. I'm pretty sure I'll make some silly mistake(s) about the rules before this ends.

Wow, 28 players @Maw There are pm's as long as someone has the second heightening @Gamma I'm still considering adjusting details on the rules for the lifeless, but them being dead players would be cool. The game will start this Friday, at 6pm AEST, so at 7am GMT. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/7247-game-4-colours-of-war/page-5#entry121533 That gives anyone else who wanted to join time to do so and I will have the rules settled by then, I will post the changes and additions in a new post and edit them into the OP in green. Really looking forward to it!

In the Wake of the Koloss: A Short Story
Claincy replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Sanderson Fan Works
I admit, I was skeptical. But this is really cool. I like what you did with Clancy. There are a few minor errors, grammar/using the wrong word etc, but it doesn't really matter. -
Ok, now onto the sequence of messages. These messages really work together as a group, I was glad I had the opportunity to get them all up even though the last had to be as Clan died So to summarise: Clan was once a skybreaker. He was influenced by Ruin but was also killing the villagers in obedience to the skybreaker ideals as the village's very existence is defying the lord Ruler's law and by that law every villager deserves death. Some WoR spoilers follow, you have been warned. So twisted by decades of grief and by Ruin Clan joined the other spiked in attempting to purge the village. He would, however, not be unhappy with how things turned out. For all that he had decided to follow his oaths he took no joy in the deaths of the villagers and his own death was a sweet release from the pain he had suffered for so long. I hope some of you got some enjoyment from these, I had a lot of fun making them. But if I do something like this again it will be a long time from now : P

Ok. Tineye solutions time! I am going to split these across two posts as the first two messages are isolated, though detailed and the latter messages all work together in a sequence that will become clear when you read the solutions That will do for this post, the next lot are all connected and hint at Clan's backstory so get there own post. I've been looking forward to revealing these for some time =D

We thought there were 2 lurchers. We had attacked Gamma and he had defended himself, he also had little reason to suspect that we knew who the second seeker was, so the odds were that he wouldn't be defending Chidden. So the most likely conclusion for us was that there were in fact 2 lurchers especially given we already knew there were three seekers in the game. If that were the case, and there were 2 lurchers and a seeker working together, with half our number already gone our best bet was the lurchers making a mistake and leaving Chidden open. Another night later and we knew that if we couldn't kill Chidden that night or the next we would lose the game. So we had no choice but to try again in the hope that the lurchers would make a mistake. I would also like to mention that things went, poorly, on night 2 through no fault of Peng's. We were intending to use Asp's coinshot to target Gamma and our normal kill to slay Meta. Unfortunately we forgot to change the spiked target so it hit Gamma anyway and due to the site problems of the time Asp's message changing his target to Gamma never went through and Raubber got hit instead. The seeking message had difficulties as well but that was resolved in the end. Well played guys, especially Gamma. I'll post tineye solutions soon.

Hey guys I'm back! I'm glad to hear that people are excited about the game Summary: Water-skiing was fun, but hard and my arms are very sore now. I had limited net access on my phone so I have been reading posts here and in the creating roles thread. I have a major assignment due tomorrow so I need to work on that tonight but I'll be able to post/reply properly tomorrow Heh, the potato experiment was fun =) I think we should maaaybe limit white text to extra comments, making all posts white partially defies the point of hidden text right? : P
-
Welcome to the site BreerEeto! Roleplaying you say? Have you heard of the mistborn adventure game? We even have some fan-made rules for awakening and shardplate/blades and Elantrians. For the record, finding and recruiting roleplayers isn't the only reason I post in introductory threads =)
-
Here is the Nalthis rules for discussion. As I stated in the other thread I probably won't be able to post over the weekend. Well, that took a while to write up : P
-
Game 4 recruitment is now open! Don't tell me I spelt colours wrong because I didn't, it's you guys that spell it wrong ; ) As I have previously stated in the role creation thread it is set on Nalthis during a peace meeting between Idris and Hallendren. Unfortunately a few Pahn Kahl agents are present and trying to sabotage the peace! The Pahn Kahl wish to kill everyone and the Idrians and Hallandren each wish to survive with more remaining members than the other. To be clear they still win if they have less people but the other nation wins against them. The primary objective is still the Pahn Kahl though. The next thing that needs mentioning is that I will be away over the weekend and likely not have net access which is why I am posting this now. I'll be able to post again on Monday. Being Idrian or Hallendren is part of your role and will be assigned so don't declare yourself as either. Everyone will know who is Idrian and who is Hallendren and the Pahn Kahl will appear as one or the other. Here are the rules in a spoiler tag due to their length. This game is going to be a bit different to previous ones, it should be interesting If you have any comments or thoughts on the rules then please go ahead and tell me, but it would be preferable if you did so in "The Art of Creating Roles", I'll be posting the rules there too. These rules may be adjusted based on feedback. So there you go. Sign-ups are now open and I will be back to respond to input/feedback/questions/etc on Monday If you read this, put the word potato in your first reply, it'll be fun! Update: 2/04/14 12:32 AEST If everyone could please write in this google doc the time (in GMT) that will best suit them for the start of days and nights. Due to the 48 hour time the writeups should always fall at this time. I will try to find a time that I can do that best suits the most people. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gbT1RJ-z3uZgOGQnSYrig5e8C5gdkEPEAvLf_ecRzgg/edit Update: 04/04/14 17:06 AEST Colours of War will begin on Friday at 22:30 AEST (12:30 pm GMT)! I have posted all the rule changes, additions and modifications above (in green). Thanks heaps to everyone who helped develop these rules =D Please tell me if you have any questions or if I missed anything. Update: 09/04/14 10:09 AEST More rule updates & clarifications copied here for ease of reference. When giving someone a breath during the night send a pm to me saying you are doing so, you can also send a pm to the person to let them know but the pm's should be separate. I'll explain the reasoning behind this if anyone asks I do not require you to include me in pms. There is nothing like uber-tin in this game and my inbox is already getting swamped as is Thanks to those who did, but it isn't necessary. When sending in night orders please do it in one of the following ways (and be consistent across nights): -Send me a new pm titled "Game 4 Night X <characterName> and tell me your night action in there. OR -Post it in the thread I sent you your role in but note the night and post it in blue and in a larger font. eg. "Night 1 Claincy: Narrate" That will just make it much easier for me to keep track of everything and make it less likely that I will miss or forget one of your orders if I read it when I don't have a chance to add it to the spreadsheet. When trying to buy breath you can say anything along the lines of "I'm buying breath" or "I'm entering the lottery" so long as it makes it clear what you are doing. Some info on the order of night actions. To reiterate what I said earlier (just in case) before all night actions have to be in by the 36 hour mark as the last 12 hours is for the returned to decide if they want to save anyone. The returned shouldn't tell anyone else who is going to die during this period. I'm watching you... ; ) Saving someone as a returned takes your night action, cancelling whatever you were going to do. IF your action was a kill you cannot do this. (So a kill through lifeless commands or an awakened sword.) Night activities all occur at the end of the night, the order is a little odd if you think about it, but spying and aura recognition detects people as they are at the start of the night. For a more exact order: -Spy, aura recognition -awakening (except awakened rope will still cancel spying and aura recognition...go figure) -strawmen -Breath Lottery/Giving breath -kills -returned saving Final Player List Idrians (The Only Joe) Jeo ~ Local Chef [deceased-Pahn Kahl normal] (Alvron) Fron ~ Dye Worker [deceased-Idrian normal] (AonarFaileas) Aodan ~ Scholar [deceased-Idrian Monk] (SirVarrock) Vard ~ Local Smith [deceased-Hallandren Agent] (Mailliw73) Aili ~ Minor cook at the Red Salmon [idrian Returned] (GreyPilgrim) Grim ~ a Guard [deceased-Idrian normal] (Nepene) Alan ~ Librarian [deceased-Idrian Mercenary] (Aspren) Asgren ~ Traveling Historian [deceased-Pahn Kahl] (Dyring) Dyrii ~ The Mad Hatter [deceased-Idrian normal] (Tulir) Tril ~ A Wanderer [deceased-Pahn Kahl normal] (Herowannabe) Rowan ~ Silent Hunter [idrian normal] (Macen) Cen ~ Lore-craftsman [idrian normal] (Sphinx) Sifa ~ a Brewer [idrian Monk] (Chid) Chide ~ The Paranoid [inactive-Idrian spy] (the Gleeman) Thomas ~ Meddling Wanderer [deceased-Idrian normal] Hallendrens (Gamma Fiend) Gammer ~ Old Woman [deceased-Hallandren normal] (Bartbug) Bartholomew ~ Chedesh Remnant [Hallandren Awakener] (Metacognition) Cog ~ Local Craftsman [deceased-Hallandren normal] (el_warko) Elo ~ Short Bard [deceased-Pahn Kahl Awakener] (Swimmingly) Swimim ~ Crazy Poet [deceased-Hallandren Awakener] (Awesomeness Summoned) Summon ~ Messenger [deceased-Hallandren Awakener] (Wyrmhero) Wyrm ~ Scholar [deceased-Hallendren Returned] (PorridgeBrick) Rick ~ A Stick [Hallendren Awakener] (little wilson) Wil’son ~ Fabric Merchant [deceased-Pahn Kahl normal] (Quiver) Ver ~ Inept World Hopper [deceased-Hallandren normal] (Edgedancer) Ben ~ Non-denominational Priest guy. Are you certain that was the boundary? I had a 413 marked as being an Envisager but that could have been a mistake. Cool I've put all confirmed boundaries in bold. Lemme know if that improves the readability. I know as much about Zucchini as I feel any need to. Not all that much, and that's fine by me.

Thanks, Just to check, is that definitely the change point? Hmm, could make things clearer. Currently you can tell if something is a hard boundary by looking above or below it, but it might be nice for it to be clearer. When I have a chance I will try something and see if it helps @Observer, thanks Soon the rate at which new things are discovered is going to slow

Welcome aboard Travalion! Though I see you have already been involved a bit What books of his have you read? A late welcome I suppose, but better late than never right?

Welcome to the forums Dan! Glad to have you join us. I would recommend the mistborn trilogy next or warbreaker which you can read for free on Brandon's website. Of course, I am biased towards Mistborn, oh well. All his books are great really.

I suspect you are correct and that it is at 600. I'm still going to leave it at 605 now as confirmed. Just to make sure that I have everything as definite Yeah I am a little bit of a perfectionist at times. I just like things to be exact.

Heh, I much prefer to be exact. The way I am working it is that I show the ranges I know for certain, and that will leave gaps till someone notices the exact spot the change happens. I care anyway. : )

Thanks, it helps narrow it down. There is a good chance that 200 is the start point for it. It's possible that it's at 195 but more likely it's 200.

Cool, glad to have that boundary settled. And yes, I am currently giving an upvote to everyone who gives me a new role or a boundary between 2 that I didn't know already. I don't see a problem with it.
