  1. I...really dunno. Just so you know you aren't the only one. Cos I'm nice and helpful like that ; )
  2. Mine are all real. I would figure that most of these are real, though a few might be slightly exaggerated or desired but not yet achieved. Or they could all be real, what do I know.
  3. Well, to get him to an appropriate "Returned" level would only take 1118 upvotes....perhaps just 4 to reach something not PK And if forgot to mention. But not for very long this time. Aodan looked less vibrant than the day before, and white objects no longer caused rainbows around him.
  4. Day 5: Momentous Transportation Duralumin In the dark of night 1 figure whispered to another and breath flowed. Another figure knelt over a corpse and spoke a command before sneaking out of the morgue with a walking dead following them. A figure stole through the night, stalking their prey. They knew where to find him, Alan was consistent if nothing else. He left his precious library at the same time every night to go somewhere. The figure didn't know where he went and they didn't really care. All they needed was this opportunity. Alan stepped out of the library and stopped in the street outside, staring at the book that lay there. After a moment he leaned down to pick it up, and as he did so the dark figure sprinted round the corner of the building and knocked him to the ground. Alan tried to reach for the knife strapped too his leg but the figure slammed their club down on his arm, breaking it with a sharp snap. The figure dropped the club and drew a dagger, placing the point against Alan's chest. “Give me your breath! Now!”, Alan tried to dislodge the figure but they were too skilled and stayed firmly in place. “Now!” the figure shouted. The figure raised the dagger then paused as they both heard the sound of running footsteps faintly at first but rapidly growing louder. “Colours” the figure cursed, then plunged the dagger through Alan's chest and run off into the night, leaving Alan to bleed out on the cold ground. Ignoring the fleeing attacker the 2 new arrivals hurried to Alan. “He's not dead yet!” one called, “Save him Wyrm!”. Wyrm considered the dying Alan, why should he save him, what made him so special? Turning to the figure beside him he asked “Why? Why him and not someone else.”. The other figure pushed Wyrm towards Alan and spoke in a harsh whisper. “Listen here, we need Alan alive and we don't trust you. Now save him.” the figure paused, “If you don't, we will know you are one of them and kill you in the morning, now do it!” Wyrm knelt beside Alan's shuddering body. Despite his objections he had no desire for Alan to die. He had returned for a purpose and while he still wasn't certain what that was, he figured it had to do with stopping the Pahn Kahl and averting this war. The other had said that Alan was important, perhaps this was what he had come back to do. Sighing, Wyrm knelt over Alan and spoke the words. “My life to yours, my breath becomes yours.” In his final moments as the breath flowed out of him Wyrm felt at peace. After years of wondering and questioning his reason for returning he had finally made a choice, and it felt right. He smiled as the world faded, perhaps he had finally achieved his purpose. ______________________________________________________________________________ Peng crept through the night toward the morgue. He knew he was in danger, the ambassadors suspected him and it would only be a matter of time before they acted. He needed protection and that was the object of his night's activities. A stone skittered across the cobbles, dislodged by a careless foot and Peng tried to leap to the side expecting an attack. As he did he glimpsed a figure in the shadows, one he knew well. He nearly managed it, but he was just too slow, and the rope the figure had thrown twisted around his ankles, tripping him, then wrapping tightly around the rest of his body. Smiling, the figure disappeared into the night. Ok Peng thought to himself trying to control the panic rising in him, Stay calm, you can get out of this. He had barely managed to steady his breathing when a heavy footstep sounded from behind him. With a great effort Peng managed to twist around and saw the new arrival. The blood drained from his face and he desperately struggled against the rope that bound him as he recognised the grey, lifeless face of Vard. Colours No! His struggles were in vain, each time he twisted the awakened rope tightened on him further. Vard stepped up to him and, face expressionless, plunged his sword through Peng's heart. Another figure stepped out of the darkness toward the 2 dead men, one lying on the ground, the other standing calmly over him. The figure surveyed his servants handiwork and nodded in grim satisfaction. A dark shape lying near Peng's body caught his eye and he stooped to pick it up. As he picked it up he recognised the shape as a sword and a cheerful voice spoke in his mind. “Hello, do you want to give some cuddles?” __________________________________________________________________________________________ Peng was a Pahn Kahl Awakener! Wyrm was a Hallandren returned and gave his divine breath to save Alan! Someone gave breath, someone made a lifeless. Day 5 begins and will end at 22:30 AEST / 12:30 GMT on Friday. What a night! That was fun to write. PM's will be out in the near future. I'll post as usual when I have sent them all. If you are wondering why they are delayed a bit each night (and why writeups are often a little late). Collating all the night actions, doing the writeup and pming everyone takes 2-3 hours every time. That doesn't include the time spent during the night cycle receiving and confirming night orders. Day cycles are a little easier but checking through all the votes to ascertain they are all correct and rereading posts to ensure the day writeup relates to what happened takes a little while. I love it, but that is why there are delays ; )
  5. This is, without a doubt, the most important information to come out of this. My favourite too.
  6. Well obviously drawing that card shouldn't change anything, they should just leave it. Sorry, couldn't help it.
  7. Haha, totally could I have to ask, why is the merchant evil? Very strange yeah, not evil though. Oh wait, did you mean the duke of Weasleton? Because in that case I totally agree Though Alan Tudyk is awesome.
  8. I know, but I just couldn't resist once I had thought of it. ooh ooh Syl to Kaladin during TWoK "Do you want to be a windrunner?". Must be done. I'll try to get to it eventually ; P
  9. Oh definitely I apologize if my intent with that post was misunderstood. I merely felt that Joe was coming down a little hard on Tempus. I certainly think that people who want to run something like this here should be talking to you for keeping things organized and sorting things through and making sure things keep running smoothly. As well as for advice/discussion on how to run it. But Joe's post, to me, seemed to imply that you held the right to dictate everything Sanderson Werewolf related and arbitrarily veto or confirm anything that you liked/didn't like or that playing werewolves in a Sanderson setting was somehow exclusively owned by you. That probably wasn't Joe's intent but his wording was rather aggressive (in my opinion anyway). "Hijack" has pretty negative connotations. I was trying to ameliorate that a little and looking back I can see this that was not clear in my wording. Serious post means no silly white text, just this.
  10. ..Well with that kind of action I doubt you would be a Windrunner, or a Skybreaker for that matter. You sir need to get an honour blade. *nods sagely* Perhaps when you are playing firefalll and you are certain that this is the closest you can get to the feeling of being a Windrunner in any game. Examples of what I mean here and here. Neither of those videos are perfect but they give a rough idea of how amazing it is. I can fly anywhere I want without having a need to touch the ground (except to pickup ammo, that is very difficult to do without touching the ground.) I even have an ability called tether field that sort of fits with Adhesion This is why I love that game.
  11. Just a quick reminder that you have just over 11 hours remaining to get your night orders in. I'm a tad worried at the number of people who haven't yet. Edit: Night actions are now closed. Twill be an interesting night.
  12. It just should have come in this writeup as the breath from Grim and Ben during Day 4 was what pushed him over the edge. I wasn't that late.
  13. Honestly I wouldn't say that this is "Meta's game" now. With all due respect to Meta for starting it here Meta got this started and has mod capabilities to keep things running smoothly and resolve problems but doesn't own the game here or anything That doesn't mean that running it past him is a bad idea though. We have already been discussing methods for engaging players who were killed early or missed out on the previous game. We were considering the possibility of having a second game start halfway through the first if there were enough people, and continuing in that manner though this might also be a good option. There's my 2 clips anyway.
  14. I apologize for not doing this sooner: The villagers and ambassadors stopped and stared as Aodan strode down the street. The cobblestones and the buildings blazed with colour as he passed and every white object near him through off rainbows of light as his biochromatic aura effected them. Short, but it gets the point across =) Aodan is currently at the 10th heightening.
  15. Night 4: Gaining Adhesion Tin The day stretched on and on, the sun barely moving in the sky as if the world itself was holding it's breath. The bunnies were far more active than normal and were seen all over town, bounding through streets and alleys and leaving small items on doorsteps. As always the discussion started slow but built up as the day progressed and as arguments were made and alliances revealed and considered the votes began to build up and shift. Many different individuals came under suspicion but as the day progressed as usually happened, one person started to collect notably more votes. For much of the long day it seemed that Wyrm would certainly be killed as voice after voice rose against him. But finally as the day was fading Wyrm stepped into the centre of the village and changed. The scholar grew taller, his muscles firming up and his features shifting. In moments the stunned ambassadors and villagers found themselves in the presence of another returned. Suddenly uncertain they milled around, looking for other targets and rapidly settling on the injured Grim. How had he really been injured? Those were definitely sword or dagger cuts, perhaps he had been attacking innocents? With little time remaining in the day several of the villagers took charge and declared Grim guilty. Gritting their teeth they went to his room at the Green Potato and quietly slit the unconscious man's throat. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Grim was a normal Idrian. Votes Grim (GreyPilgrim) 4: Bartholomew, Cog, Summon, Sart, Dainard Bartholomew (Bartbug) 3: Gammer, Wyrm Peng (JasonPenguin) 2: Aodan, Alan Chide (Chid) 2: Elo, Peng Wyrm (WyrmHero) 2: Aili Rick (PorridgeBrick) 1: Jim Bob Dirt Elo (el_warko) 1: Sipha Night 3 begins and will end at 22:30 AEST / 12:30 GMT on Wednesday. All actions must be in by 10:30 AEST / 00:30 GMT on Wednesday. Edit: Bodies available for creating lifeless: Jeo, Fron, Swimim, Grim and Dyrii Edit: Returned now have their double vote, it doesn't effect the outcome.
  16. Day 4 is over, no more votes will be counted. Writeup incoming if it needs saying.
  17. I don't know how many times I have watched that sequence and I never noticed that. I guess I was too caught up in the moment. When it gets down to it I don't care that much about graphics/animations when compared to character/story. I hope I can still still watch that sequence without that annoying me now.
  18. Apparently I missed this one before. Heh, just imagining a parody of "I see the light" from Tangled that's a Shallarin song. So a Shallan/Renarin duet called "Now that I glow too" I might work out some full lyrics later. I don't actually ship Shallarin but I still think this would be cool. (I may try to record some of these lyrics some time. I'm a fair enough but not brilliant singer and I don't have access to a better than decent mike though.)
  19. 3 hours remaining till the end of this very long day. And I am back home and able to post properly now So I can use colours again! YAY! Edit: And yes, Wyrm is a returned.
  20. The sword maker had to have sufficient breath at the start of the night to create Cuddles.
  21. Here is a link to the other thread for anyone who is looking http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/5820-frozen/ I'm not going to go into detail about why a consider frozen to be the movie Disney has made in the last decade, perhaps ever, as I already explained that in detail in the other thread. But to summarize my views: Tangled had less flaws than frozen, tangled was a very good movie but it failed to do anything particularly new and daring and so is just another Disney princess story. That isn't necessarily a bad thing but we have had a lot of them. Frozen on the other hand, despite a few flaws breaks he mold entirely and manages to achieve a story that is far more emotionally powerful and has far more interesting and complicated characters.
  22. The 5th heightening will protect you from a lynch iff you took no action the night before. A note on the 10th heightening as well. If you take a breath action during he night as your "free" action but no second action and are still at the 10th heightening you will still have protection from the 5th heightening.
  23. First up I apologize for not clarifying this earlier and I am sorry that some some people missed it when I clarified the rest of the rules for swords. It is far from ideal having this many clarifications as the game is progressing but it was fairly inevitable with the first use of a ruleset this complicated and similar clarifications did happen a bit in the first games and likely will continue to every time we add new rules Anyway: from a canon standpoint a returned shouldn't have an opportunity to save someone who was killed by a sword like nightblood. From a gameplay standard this may not be ideal though. So in the interest of balance: "A returned can use their divine breath to heal someone who was killed with an awakened sword. However, the sword will still have consumed the persons breath and the person will be left as a perfectly healthy drab." One other than thing that needs clarifying is the order of night kills. The PK kill comes first, followed by the lifeless, followed by any awakened sword kills.
  24. When you see that someone is working on cosmere monopoly and think: "That's pretty cool. But just wait till they see the msitborn games I'm working on." =D (Namely Shelldry and a Mistborn deck building card game.)
  25. Yeah. That's why awakened swords are so dangerous. They cannot be blocked. I think I states this earlier but to reiterate: if someone with an awakened sword attacks someone whom the mercenary is protecting the target will still die but so will the attacker.
