A last minute reminder that you have 1 hour left to get night actions in. I'm still missing a few more than would be ideal.
-
Nice. Heh, this is pretty cool, the two tineyes from last game and your using the Aon for Honor and my character name contains Aan (Truth/fact). Not that I was entirely truthful during that game, comes with being spiked.
-
Heh, you are probably right. Wouldn't happen in Roshar. But certainly in Roshtralia. (I like that term.) You are right about the lists. A lot of those things are far less common in urban Melbourne (or other cities). Sadly....or not sadly for a couple. Wow we are off topic...anyway, I need some sleep. Goodnight =)

That, could make for a rather uncomfortable highstorm. I think that most likely 1 of them would eat well. Actually, I just got a mental image of them politely sharing the small shelter with each other along with a bowl of chull stew. Then coming out in the riddens, bowing to eachother and proceeding Unlikely, but it would be cool.
-
I, er, whoops. Not sure how that happened :/ I haven't posted much here, but I have been updating the list frequently It just felt a little odd posting short messages noting that I had added it to the list every time someone told me a rank. I'm still watching, still changing, still grateful for the help The list is coming along very nicely.

Your link is broken Maybe this one: http://www.buzzfeed.com/awesomer/totally-common-occurrences-in-australia It's funny how those kind of articles ususally sound ridiculous but are mostly correct. Heh, nice. Though it should really be a low-dahn darkeyes. To be incredibly picky. Maybe he was really, really hungry?
-
Pft, drop-whitespines couldn't harm me! I am far too experienced with the Australian-Rosharan bush Ok ok, maybe just Australian. "Once a jolly Ghostblood, camped by the purelake, Under the shade of a strange dark fortress. [Cos the purelake is otherwise flat ] And he sang as he watched and waited till his feet grew cold, Who'll come a-plotting and scheming' with me." Perhaps I'm not the only one who forgets people are Aussies?
-
I, uh, think so? I'm going to be embarrassed if I'm wrong :/ (I think I'm right, aren't I?) There are actually a fair number of Aussies on 17s. Or at least there were, I dunno how many of us became regular posters.
-
Nice. I totally forgot that you were an Aussie too Sooooo, Jasnah is going to be a world hopper you say? Cos that would be pretty cool actually. I suppose "Kholinar" would work too. But Alethka would work better due to which vowels are where. It would sound better. The emphasis on the "in" in Kholinar wouldn't sound too good whereas the emphasis on leth works fine.

I thought long and hard about this and finally concluded that I was going to end up reading the game anyway and it wouldn't be much more time to actually play. And seriously, could I let a game go by that I wasn't involved in? So here is Caan, signing up

What I say there is always as they were at the beginning as that was their "role" whether they still possessed the breaths or not. I think it is better that way, but if you disagree feel free to explain why.

Glad you liked it. To everyone: If you know you are going to die and have a specific idea about how you want to go just toss me a pm So long as I have time to do so I will try to utilize it. It can be fun tailoring a death scene that way. Also: Available bodies for lifeless. Jeo, Fron, Elo, Swimim, Grim, Wyrm, Peng. [Yes, if you really want Elo I will make it work ]

Night 5: Painful Abrasion tin The villagers and ambassadors gathered at the red salmon that morning to try to puzzle out what had happened the prior night. It was clear that Peng had been a Pahn Kahl agent and that Wyrm was dead. Rumour was that the returned had sacrificed himself to save Alan. Alan for his part seemed to be in a mild state of shock from the events of the night. Aodan strode into the Salmon smiling, grimly satisfied with the results of the night. He instantly had the attention of everyone in the restaurant as he declared that a strawman had been used to spy on Elo last night, and it had reported that he had attacked someone! Rising from his seat Alan joined Aodan in accusing Elo. The man who had attacked him and caused Wyrm's death would face justice. As the day progressed the villagers continued to call for Elo's death. Making no attempt to defend himself Elo instead decried Aodan. Warning theme that he was taking control and asking if he could really be trusted not to put the interests of his own people before those of the Hallandren's. As the day passed Alan retreated to the library. He had always felt the most comfortable here amongst the quiet of the library and the musty smell of the older books and despite the attack having occurred right outside he still felt himself grow calmer as he organised the books and sorted through the recently returned books. Despite the knowledge that there were people who wanted him dead he felt safe in the library. Surely nothing could go wrong amongst the majestic stacks of ancient tomes. He was reading a particularly engrossing novel about a strange group of knights and odd creatures called “spren”, creatures that were a manifestation of ideas. What an intriguing concept! Alan was rudely jerked from his thoughts as a loud bang echoed through the library. What? Rising to his feet and moving towards the entrance Alan was shocked to see Elo bearing one of the heavy golden candlesticks used to light the entrance, the candle was still burning brightly. The rage that he had tried, though with little success, to hide for so long now blazed freely in his eyes as he stalked between the aisles, shouting for Alan to come face him. Alan ducked back behind a bookshelf, momentarily stunned by the invasion of his sanctuary. His shock quickly gave way to anger, this Pahn Kahl dared to attack him and to invade his library. Alan waited quietly behind the bookshelf a few moments longer, then with an almighty heave he toppled the bookshelf onto Elo. Turning the would-be-murderer's shout into a strangled yell as he leaped to the side to avoid the falling books. Leaping over the remains of the shelf Alan slammed into Elo as he staggered to his feet sending the candlestick flying. They grappled desperately amongst the fallen books, tripping over them and crashing to the ground, where Elo finally managed to get on top of Alan and wrapped his hands around Alan's neck. He started to squeeze, a maniac grin in his eye and Alan struggled helplessly trying to throw the small man off. Then Elo paused, he glanced behind him and his grip slackened for a moment. Using the opportunity Alan desperately heaved him off and struggled to his feet. Only then did he see what had distracted the crazed bard. The discarded candlestick had landed amidst the books Alan had been sorting and a roaring fire had begun. Already one of the nearby bookshelves was ablaze and Alan stared in horror as another caught fire. Elo had regained his feet and now stood nearby, transfixed by the flickering flames, a broad grin on his face. Rage overcame Alan's common sense as he watched his precious books burn. He leaped at Elo, throwing the small man to the ground, he started punching him. Letting out his anguish through physical violence. Elo rolled on the ground, crying out in pain and Alan paused for a moment as something caught his eye. Reaching over he picked up the heavy tome he had been reading earlier and use that as a bludgeon, pounding Elo till he lay bruised and bloodied, barely moving. Sanity returned to Alan as he looked up, realising the danger of his situation. The whole library was ablaze, shelves collapsed as their wooden supports broke away and the flames now licked at the roof. Leaving Elo behind Alan covered his face with his hands and ran through the library, dodging past blazing bookshelves, through the entry way and out into the crowded street where he knelt coughing as he watched his life burn to the ground in front of him. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Elo was a Pahn Kahl Awakener Vote tally Aodan (0) : Elo Elo (8) : Gammer, Bartholomew, Aodan, Rick, Alan, Wil'son, Ben, Rowan, Jim Bob Dirt, Sipha, Thomas Night 5 begins and will end at 22:30 AEST / 12:30 GMT on Sunday. This is true. I'll post the writeup when I complete it though I don't know for certain when that will be. The night cycle will be extended slightly and end at the normal time as that is roughly the only time when I am always available to do that right up. That isn't really late at night.
-
Fixed. I planned the numbers of each faction and role to try to achieve the best balance. I wouldn't say I succeeded at getting a perfect balance, =( but that is a discussion for after the game when I can speak openly.

I just want to pop in to note that some people seem to have a mistaken idea of the numbers here, so to summarize where things are at: 3 Innocent Idrians are dead (No special roles lost): Fron, Grim, Dyrii 3 Innocent Hallandrens are dead (including an agent, a returned and an awakener): Vard, Swimim, Wyrm 1 Idrian Pahn Kahl has been killed: Jeo 2 Hallandren Pahn Kahl have been killed (well, at the end of the day): Peng, Elo So where does this leave us? 3 losses per side. Though the PK have less people to lose of course. The Idrians have lost no special roles and Aodan has become a very powerful awakener, the Hallandrens have lost 3 people with roles and due to the breath giving to Aodan effectively lost the majority of their awakeners. I just wanted to make sure that everyone remembers the facts

I do have some comments/feedback to mention. First I would just like to reiterate that all of us Narrators are always willing to hear any complaints/feedback/criticisms or ideas you guys have. The biggest thing I want to talk about is timing and the length of cycles as this is very important. This has been discussed numerous times before and Meta sent a pm to us Narrators indicating the possibility was under discussion regarding their length and if they should be shorter. I am posting this publicly rather than in a pm so that any other narrator or future narrator who disagrees with something I say here can call me out on it (Or agree. Either way.) We settled on the current length of 48 hours for two primary reasons; to give people enough time to discuss and so our Narrators don't go insane. We had shorter cycles in the first couple of games with the option for players to request an extension. By shortly into the second game an extension was requested essentially every single day cycle. Many people can only get on a couple of times in a 24 hour period and a 48 hour cycle gives everyone time to jump on and post multiple times which is absolutely vital to getting the good discussion and debate that is the lifeblood of the game happening. With shorter cycles people are often absent for most of a day cycle, only having time to post once or twice and as a result they frequently wouldn't get a chance to respond to other players questions and accusations. Furthermore this inability to reasonably argue there case would result in more people being lynched for silly reasons and in ways they thought were unfair which would lead to an increase in ill-will and increase the likelihood of a situation like what happened in the first game. Reducing the length of night cycles is a bit more feasible in this sense as generally less is happening. It would not work well for my current game though as the 12 hours on the end for the returned to decide to save someone is absolutely vital and there would need to be an absolute minimum of 24 hours before that for people to get in their night actions. A lot happens during the night cycles, but most of it is, by necessity, done through private messages rather than the main threads. Now to talk about this from the side of the narrators. Ignoring the time spent reading the posts people have made it takes the narrators a solid 2-3 hours work per cycle to make sure everything runs smoothly and on time. This is longer in more complicated games like the Nalthis Elimination and many of the planned future games. With other real life commitments be they work, uni, school or other commitments narrators simply cannot afford to spend 3 hours every day on the games, which is what would be required for a 24 hour cycle. We love narrating this, it is a lot of fun. But we do have other things demanding our time and we simply cannot afford to take an 8th of every day to work on it. We would have to entirely remove the roleplaying which is one of the bigger draws to many of the players, and we could not run any of the more interesting and complicated games like Nalthis Elimination. It is also worth noting that certain games need more time in the cycles than others. The Nalthis Elimination game requires the additional 12 hours for the returned to choose to save people and requires a longer night cycle in general due to every single player being able to take an action every night. Reducing the length of the cycles would limit the types of games we could run and reduce the quality of those we do run. If we have enough players then running multiple games where 1 starts halfway through the previous one could be possible and we have been discussing the possibility for a while now. This would also give those who were eliminated early in the first game something to do before it finishes. We have also recently been looking at the possibility of running smaller games concurrently with the larger ones and this could also work well. Apologies that this got rather long, but it was too important to skim over. I will be interested to see your game Rubix If I may, I would suggest posting the rules in "The Art of Creating Roles" to get some extra feedback and ideas on your rules before beginning. We have quite a number of clever players here who would have good ideas that could improve it. I know that my game benefited greatly from others feedback on the proposed rules. Another serious post, so nothing funny to say in the white text. Edit: Hey guys, I don't mind if you upvote or downvote my post (or Rubix's) but it would be really helpful if you posted and said why. Knowing that people agree or disagree is useful but it is far more useful to also know why. Especially when you disagree. Thanks (If you aren't comfortable posting it publicly for whatever reason just pm Rubix, Meta or I. Whoever is most relevant.)

To confirm, Dyrii's corpse was used to make a lifeless. I cannot/will not confirm who did so Today is looking to be somewhat boring =(

...How did I miss that? Thanks, fixed. I must really need to sleep soon. You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Claincy replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you have been spending so much time in the Nalthis Elimination game you are running posting in green for rules, blue for announcements, OOC discussion etc and white for funsies. That posting something in black seems wrong. Yep, I had to colour that. -
Yay! I just discovered the hard lower boundary of Ghostblood for myself. Feels good to actually discover something myself for a change Not that I don't really appreciate everyone's help of course.

*Facepalms* Thanks. I tend to copy paste things like that from previous writeups and I occasionally forget to adjust them appropriately when I am trying to get the writeup posted reasonably on time. Fixed now to say Friday and day 5. All night private messages have been sent. If you didn't receive one it is because I don't love you there was nothing to tell you. With Wyrm's death Idrians hold an edge....except that Hallandrens hold the lifeless commands and the awakened sword now....
