  1. Recommendation time! I know there's a lot of this style of channel out there, but I've been consistently impressed by Atlantic Lights' arrangements! You should go check him out!

  2. Me, a few months ago, first hearing about vocaloid: meh

Me, right this second, vibing to a vocaloid album: and your point?

  3. Got me a little stack of books recently, the first of which was Einstein's Trunk, a thriller. Not bad--I quite enjoyed it, actually!--but it needed to be at least 50% longer. The pacing felt a bit off. On a whim, I also picked up the first volume of a manga called Yukarism. Looks good so far! I'm not used the the manga format, so it's taking some getting used to, but I think we'll get there in the end.
  4. My sister said that the cupcakes were "mediocre". Sibling, all it takes for a cupcake to reach deific heights is not being able to taste the food coloring. It's a pretty easy bar to clear.

What level is reached by a cupcake that is filled with jam or chocolate ganache or some other delicious thing?

I dunno, but I betcha cream-filled cupcakes would make even God swoon, 'specially if one of His kids made them! ;)

  5. Here, have a wholesome comic for Earth Day!

I'm beginning to think I just have that effect on people. :P That's Earth, she's depressed because people keep making fun of her, and so NASA cheered her up!

    3. Lunamor

      Lunamor

It weirdly follows the plot of Journey to the Center of the Earth

  6. I think something broke in my brain, because for the longest time I could not write in first person past tense. It would just seem wrong, and I'd find I'd switched to present tense somewhere along the line without noticing. It seems to have fixed itself, but who knows at this point? Maybe I'll look back in a couple paragraphs' time and find I've done the whole thing in second person past perfect or something.

You could always take a page from Luis' book and tell it in fifth person.

      UNRELIABLE NARRATORS FTW

  7. Just in case anybody was thinking, I dunno, the Terminator or something, I've always imagined hugbots to look a bit like this.

Does it just, give you a hug?

      Yup!

Actually, come to think of it, Baymax could work for this too...I guess he's the deluxe model?

  8. *mails many hugbots*
  9. I have too many pens, and yet both the Prussian Blue 580 ALR and that new Draco from TWSBI are calling me. Send help. Nice selection, nib bias aside! I still need to sort out a routine for using all my pens. The amount that are inked right now is frightening.
  10. If you had told me a couple of months ago that I'd end up shipping two blood cells and with a crush on a macrophage of all things, I'd have laughed in your face.

    And yet, here we are.

It's actually not that complicated.  I just finished watching an anime called Cells at Work! As the name might suggest, it follows anthropomorphized versions of the cells in a body as they go about their days. Here's a 60-second review of the first couple episodes (contains a bit of strong language), if you're interested.

That is by far the weirdest premise for a storyline I've seen since "people eat metal and get powers"

      It's sooo good tho

  11. @Kasimir Thanks for the heads up! I'll be keeping an extra-close eye on my JoWo nibs, then.
  12. I can handle an art style change between seasons. I might not like it, but I can deal. But in the split second I thought they changed the cast I almost flipped a table.

  13. I mean, I just got (and absolutely love) a Kaweco Sport, so I'm not entirely sure I know what I'm talking about either. Thank goodness I haven't. I'm terrified of breaking something and doing so voids the warranty (understandably, if annoyingly). Good to know, thanks. (I keep hearing that Kyoto's inks are really dry, but that's been the opposite of my experience. I guess this F-C's just really, really wet?) Glad to hear it! (At this point I'm just using parentheses for completeness' sake...)
  14. Finally, I'm a Voidbringer!

Fear me...I guess? I don't know. You do you.

Not even in the same church! Just some banter between a couple old-timers. ;)

Well we'd welcome you back to full activity anytime.

  15. I think I audibly gasped when I heard there was a matching 91. Unfortunately, the same review that made me aware of it also emphasized its small size, so... I started with one fill each of Ku-jaku and Edelstein Moonstone before settling on Tsuki-yo, which I've used for the last few fills. It's not so much a hassle to clean, actually--you just cycle the vacuum filler until it runs clear, which is easy enough. The hassle is waiting for it to dry out. If my one bottle is anything to go by, Kyoto TAG makes a dang good ink. I got Moegiiro to go with my F-C, but Aonibi and Hisoku look lovely as well. I foresee more bottles in my future. Heard good things about Taccia. How is it?
  16. One should never have to be aware of their own uvula.

  17. It's an interesting thing, you know, finally being able to relate to a meme. For the longest time, I rolled my eyes at all the author jokes about "ah yes, sweet, sweet emotional turmoil" but then one day a scene ripe with anguish literally just popped into my brain as I was getting into bed. It was a eureka moment to the point where I literally went back outside, got back on the computer, and wrote it out then and there.

Man, I can't wait to use it. :D

  18. It's so prettyyyyy! I'm that guy who's interested in inks 'cause he likes the name, and I love the moon, so I'm glad Moonlight lives up to its name! It really is one of the best I have. It's divine in the 823, too.
  19. If I have to listen to Marty Robbins sing about the West Texas town of El Paso one more time I'm gonna burn the place to the ground.

    1. TwiLyghtSansSparkles

      TwiLyghtSansSparkles

The most important thing about El Paso is that there are a lot of overpasses, and when I moved from AZ to LA with my pug in the front seat, he'd duck every time we drove under an overpass, and that poser Marty Robbins probably doesn't even sing about it once.

  20. I'll see what I can throw together, but in the meantime I used these inks with the previous pens respectively: Birmingham Panther Blue, Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo, J. Herbin Poussière de Lune, Platinum Aqua Emerald, and J. Herbin Rouille d'Ancre!
  21. So this weekend is General Conference for us Latter-day Saints, and one of the many reasons I love it is the opportunity to use my pens to take notes! There are five sessions, so I've used five pens: a Pelikan M120, Pilot Custom 823, LAMY 2000, Platinum 3776, and Sailor 1911. Feels good to actually use these things instead of just letting them sit in a drawer and collect dust, you know?
  22. On one hand, I absolutely love sharing music I love with everyone around me. It's like sharing a piece of your soul! On the other hand, I'm absolutely terrified, because it's like sharing a piece of your soul.

    Screw you, psychology.

    1. Tesh

      Tesh

I can relate very strongly to this statement.

Also I listen to a really storming weird variety of musicals, so that makes it weird as well.

Yeah, I can handle people hearing my taste in rock, but there's a decent helping of MLP and anime songs in rotation and I would actually die if those songs came on while I was DJing. :P

  23. Me, starting Re:Zero: What's so great about Rem? I mean I like her well enough, but... Me, eleven episodes later: ...oh.
  24. Don't be! I'm excited too! ETA: Yooooo that was an awesome first day! Such awesome talks! Sad to see the Primary General Presidency go, though. ETA again: I totally didn't cry through both opening songs this morning. Nope. Don't know what you're talking about.
