  1. Just looked it up and that's a nice one! I'd explore Sailor a lot more if they weren't so expensive... my one is a 1911L Stormy Sea, which is nice enough. I think something may be ever so slightly off with the nib, though. I would've loved that Diamondcast Model 02 they did but as with any limited editions I just assume they'll sell out and don't waste any more mental energy on them. (Especially since looking at that 31 they did with Goulet still makes me wanna cry for how beautiful it is...) The one exception is Primary Manipulation. I'd trade my hat for something in PM.
  2. All y'all saying that RPs don't get you rep weren't around when the Oregon RP was active, were you?
  3. Well, that depends on where you are. Some nicer stationery or stores will carry them, with varying levels of variety. Office Depot sometimes has a couple, but not really what I'd call a good selection. Your best bet is to look online: my personal recommendations are for Goulet Pens and Pen Chalet. As for starters, my personal recommendation is for something by Pilot or Lamy, like the Metropolitan or Safari (respectively). You also can't go wrong with TWSBI, if you're willing to dive in a bit deeper -- they're fantastic quality pens, but they only fill direct from a bottle.
  4. Terribly sorry to double-post, but editing doesn't show as a new response, so... Anyways, New Pen Day! Got a Franklin-Christoph Model 31 for Christmas! It's the Emerald & Ice colorway, and for the time being I've inked it with the Pen Addict/Robert Oster Fire on Fire I also got. The pen is a M nib, which I may swap out for a SIG from them in the future.
  5. I knew not what I had wrought when I clicked on that piano cover of Your Reality...
  6. Merry Christmas, everyone! :D

  7. Hello Internet: Next time we're gonna talk about The Martian (one of my favorite books)!

Me: Oh boy!!! That's one of my favorite books!!!

Next time on HI: *continuous complaining about one of my favorite books*

  8. Good idea, I may try that! Thank you.
  9. One of these days I will actually finish that book. My goodness.
  10. I didn't just listen to Taylor Swift when I stayed up 'til five the other night, I also finished reading An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green! It was pretty good, I thought, though I had some minor issues with pacing and characterization (which I can chalk up to this being Mr. Green's first novel). Even so, about halfway through and despite me thinking that the themes in the book so far were... less than subtle, I realized ...ooooohhh, I see what he's doing. So it's a solid 7/10 for me; I certainly liked it enough that I want to read the sequel!
  11. Being sick is either sleeping in 'til 11:30 AM and then taking a nap later that day, or staying up 'til 5 AM listening to Taylor Swift. There is no in between.

It's also going to sleep late at night, waking up at 6 PM, and wondering why your mom is making hamburgers for breakfast.

Oh, yes, that too! Either that or wondering what year it is.

  12. I sometimes feel a little pretentious using the same pseudonym given to JRR friggin' Tolkien, but I liked it and before I could change it people started using it, so it stuck.
  13. All I seem to remember about reading Jack London in school are 1) how good he was and 2) how depressed I was afterwards.
  14. Singing along to The Saga Begins is as natural as breathing for me.

Seriously, I haven't listened to this song for months, and for years before that. And I still know every word.

Also, it has actually moved me to tears before, so there's that.

  15. Brilliant work!
  16. Yo! This is really good!
  17. Uh, yes, hello, hi there, No I don't have a thing for redheads what are you talking about it's not like your painting is really really good and successfully shut down my internal word processor or anything
  18. Oh, one more thing: I enjoyed reading this book, not just for the plot and the world and the characters, but because it was so well-written. I love seeing how far Brandon's come as a writer since Elantris! Sure, there were a couple points where I cocked an eyebrow and thought, "well, I wouldn't've phrased it like that," but that's just stylistic differences (or, if it was "bad writing", the instances I noticed paled in comparison to the rest of the book).

  20. Ooh, I like that one! (Assuming you're on an iPhone?) It was my ringtone for a while before I switched to the Piano Guys' cover of A Sky Full of Stars.
