  1. Not really, myself. But you should definitely write that book! I'd love to see what you come up with.
  2. Oldest of two by seven years.
  3. I actually didn't mind Twilight, though I admit I always thought Jacob was the better choice. (My friend and his sister were totally aghast at this, years ago.)
  4. Favorite single line by far: "Journey before destination, you bastard." Also, (and this may just be me) but I would totally love a world where we have Stormlight Archive movies or a TV show scored by Enya. I listened to The Loxian Gate right after finishing Oathbringer and it's forever imprinted in my mind as the OB credits song, and now after RoW I was listening to Book of Days and I can definitely see ways it could apply to some of the Knights Radiant or the books as a whole.
  5. Thank you! You too.
  6. I haven't noticed any particular bounciness... just checked, and it is! Not so much with casual writing, but you can press fairly easily and get some variation.
  7. It's a Fine, and it writes wonderfully. I'd heard Pelikan's steel nibs are more consistent than their gold, and this seems to be the case. I've been eyeing that particular Sailor since it was released... good choice!
  8. Aw man. At least you'll have something to look forward to, eh?
  9. I'm too tired to make a galaxy brain meme but let's just say that it was worth paying full price to have them put a unicorn on my AirPods Pro. :D

  10. Let's heave a sigh, then, for the all the well-meaning yet overbearing parents in our lives. That's nice, at least!
  11. I had to reread this a couple times -- good idea selling the pods you weren't using, but what? Do... do your parents not let you listen to music?
  12. *slithers in* Ear/AirPods are genuinely good earphones. *slithers out*
  13. May I present the latest revision to my personal flag?

    Spoiler

(And by "latest revision" I mean "I completely redid everything.")

  14. caranise, thank you for posting here -- you actually brought a tear to my eye. Like Ene, I was unaware of the situation in Turkey, but you and your country are in my prayers tonight.
  15. Well, with this example at least, there are two ways of looking at it. There's the technical standpoint, where yes, errors were made because a choreographed fight on that scale is a little difficult to do well, let alone perfectly. Then there's the storytelling aspect -- arguably the more important one -- where they succeeded admirably, in my opinion. Since we've started sharing videos, here's one that explains that more in depth:
  16. I mean, I'm 22 and I still haven't, sooo...
  17. I've just bookmarked it, myself.
  18. Gorgeous art! 10/10
  19. New pen day! It looks black; sorry about that. It's actually quite a lovely shade of blue! It's the Pelikan M120 Iconic Blue and it's fabulous and I love it, even if it's also smol.
  20. Gotcha! Mine is the second, I think.
  21. Isn't it great! Do you have a favorite movement?
  22. Went to the Utah Symphony last night! I'm glad they've started performing again (with social distancing and masks required). On the program was one of my favorite pieces ever, Dvořák's Serenade for Strings, which was just lovely to hear live. I also discovered a new favorite, Lyric for Strings by George Walker. What can I say? I'm a sucker for strings. The second half of the program was all brass and percussion, though, but was still very good! Standouts to me were Gabrieli's Sonata pian' e forte and Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man, which always gives me strong Captain America vibes. And here's the whole program for the record:
  23. Ooh, that's rough, man. Sorry to hear it. I know the feeling of decision paralysis all too well; it sucks. :/
  24. Oh those were so goooood
  25. Visited the local B&N yesterday and picked up Steven King's On Writing, as well as Donald Maass' The Breakout Novelist upon recommendation from the bookseller. (Also got the Piano Guys' first album on vinyl, but that's not exactly a book, is it? )
