  1. if you could manage to gather enough anti investiture to make an anti-shard, you may be able to store it in the Cognitive similarly to Devotion and Dominion, but I think it would be much to unstable to last any reasonable amount of time. So unless there's some huge mechanics were unaware of, this seems like something that in world scholars would at best theorize about.
  2. the larger Koloss would also be heavier which means that more of their muscle would need to support their own body
  3. I think that the intent starts affecting the vessels decisions within a short time, before that, it seems that the vessel has free reign of the power since vin was able to kill Ruin's vessel. by era 2 of mistborn, it is clear that Harmony's intent is already affecting Sazed's actions. I do think that the vessel's interpretation of the intent allows for a level of flexibility, for example Rayse sees Odium as representing passion and emotions while Sazed sees Harmony an intent which prevents him from interfering very much.
  4. enhanced senses with tin could be useful as in most situations maybe some of the spiritual metals would allow you to apply Steel speed to the mech with identity or connection shenanigans. maybe if you saw the mech as being a part of your body in the same way you would see your hand as part of your body.
  5. or you could go high tech and make a mech. there's also a pretty good chance that (Sixth of the dusk spoilers)
  6. I find it hard to believe that Kelsier wouldn't keep the bands. He seems like the type who wouldn't want to give others ways that they could easily be more powerful than him. I figured he would hold on to them if for no other reason than to stop others from potentially use the bands against him. Perhaps he could allow trusted Ghost bloods to use them but I feel like this would be an unlikely action for him.
  7. A shard can intentionally make splinters of themselves without being completely shattered. For example (War Breaker spoilers)
  8. Since there is slightly more ruin than preservation in harmony, maybe it's harder to get lerasium. If this is true, in theory you could repeat the experiment until you create enough atrium to level out the investiture in harmony. Then maybe lerasium would be easier to get
  9. I almost done with The Crystal Shard by R. A. Salvatore and I am pleasantly surprised
  10. Atrium is really useful in combat, but aside from that, I can't think of many users in my day to day life (I could probably become the world champion in fighting games). I feel like being a mistborn is more useful because of the variety of abilities, pewter alone seems like it would be life changing to have. Compounding is more useful, but I'd probably feel lonely after being immortal for a few centuries. Brandon has said that compounding can be used to enhance allomancy but we don't know the specifics yet. If I had to pick between one bead and the sixteen, I think I would still go for the single bead because I don't think I trust 16 people enough to give them allomancy (maybe aluminum lol)
  11. Yes, I could see harmony being inspired by Roshar. This also explains why the would be empty after spending years in caves. Heck since the bands were at the entrance of the temple, they probably had ample opportunities to recharge up there Or the running out is also possibility if they store Mists, which would get used up.
  12. does procrastinating on programing homework count as math? TPBM is making not 1 but 2 grilled cheese sandwiches
  13. while everyone is distracted, I move the sandwich to an inconspicuous location where people are unlikely to check so I can take it home later.
  14. I didn't mean to imply the use of stormlight. My idea was to go in the opposite direction and use breaths to simultaneously awaken an object and allow it to use a surge. although, now that I think about it you could probably just awaken a fabrial which harnesses a surge such as the gravitation fabrial Navani makes.
  15. nice, I like the evanotype of wane 8/10
  16. It seems very likely that, using proper methods, a wielder of an end positive invested art such as surgebinding or allomancy could fuel their abilities by consuming breaths. This would be cumbersome as a primary fuel source since breaths are relatively hard to come by, and would be lost upon use ( It could potentially be useful as an "emergency" source of fuel). There could be another use for these breaths that may allow for end neutral uses of end positive invested arts. In theory you could awaken objects to use allomancy, surges, and other magics. I could see many uses for this technique such as a Windrunner awakening a dagger with a command to use a lashing to target their opponent or awakening an object with zinc to inflict fear only in your opponents. many of these effects could be replicated in other magic systems but, this method would carry great advantages: effects would not run out like in Rosharan and Scadrian fabrials awakening gives a greater precision and variety of commands than most other methods (outside of Elantrians, Forgers and Bondsmiths) since the fuel is the divine breaths, there would be no loss of investiture Is there anything I'm missing?
  17. wasn't it also implied that Vin used trace amounts of pewter to withstand Camon's beatings? she didn't know she was an allomancer at that point so she was burning the metal without completley understanding what she was doing. I would think that Their intelligence wouldn't be the biggest factor in them not burning metals.
  18. Would someone who had an attribute stolen through hemalurgy be harder to sense like a Drab?
  19. I love how the sunset colors are reflected in the plate an blade.
  20. to be an avatar there needs to be some level of intelligence (likely sapient level at least) so this rules out the well itself, although, when Rashek took up the power he may have been an avatar for a brief time this second WOB unfortunetly seems to rule out Amaram and Marsh. these characters seem similar to Wax in the way that their actions often serve the greater purposes of a shard. as far as i'm aware, we don't have a concrete definition of what separates these characters for avatars. perhaps Amaram was on track to be an avatar of Odium similar to Telson, but I'm not sure if any evidence supports this idea. I am a fan of the idea that Autonomy has an avatar among the unmade.
  21. a surgbinder can breathe in Stormlight from gems in order to fuel their abilities. there are ten surges including gravitation, adhesion, illumination, and transportation (the mechanics of a lot of the surges are still ambiguous.) there are two ways for a regular person to become a surgebinder. they can either bond a spren which will give them access to 2 surges depending on the type of spren (there are 10 types of spren which people can bond to become a radiant and therefore 10 orders of knights). a person who bonds a spren will need to swear ideals in order to improve their control and access to their surges. eventualy, after swearing enough ideals. a knight will earn a shard blade which is a physical manifestation of their spren. you can also gain access to surgebinding by possesing an honor blade which gives you the abilities of one of the orders of knight radiant.
