We know that aluminum is often used as a barrier to stop surgebinders. Given this, What would happen if you had a large amount of Aluminum on an oath gate? would it transfer or would it stay in place? Would it interfere with the ability of Oathgate transportation? for example if you had an aluminum dome around the control room, would that stop the Oathgate from working?

I was looking through WOBs and found this one which looks quite interesting. This is an older WOB and it was paraphrased, but what could the ten core worlds of the Cosmere be? so far I have this list. Many of the justifications are more about important characters from that planet and not the planets themseles. Scadrial Mistborn is one of the most important Cosmere series Roshar see above Ashyn Braize Yolen Taldain Autonomy has a lot of influence on the greater cosmere, which makes her home planet noteworthy Sel another planet Brandon has said will be a core player Nalthis Threnody I don't know whether these planets would have been included, especially Threnody since it seems like the planet itself my not have a big role in the Cosmere; this could also be said about Taldain and Nalthis to a lesser degree. First of the Sun is another possible planet but it feels like it's story won't have enough of an impact on the Cosmere to be top ten even though Aviars are definitely sought after. UTol is also a possible planet in this list but I don't think there is enough evidence to say one way or another. What are your thoughts on this WOB?

I like the idea of Wind and Truth will feature Shallan world hopping. I think it would be odd if Shallan left them behind, but I also don't think it's likely that she would bring the whole team along. For these reasons, I think that Sallan world hopping won't happen till at least part four in order to wrap up some plot threads with the rest of the group. I could also see it being something that happens towards the end of the book which sets up a stand alone Shallan book( maybe she'll even show up in Era 3 Mistborn). If BAM was somehow moved off world, then Kelsier wouldn't need to know the impacts of BAM's connection to Rosharans because the method used to transport her would likely either work on him, or be similar enough to what he needs to do. Since BAM'S gem is still full of investiture, you would probably face the same obstacles when you do when trying to transport Stormlight off-world

Who do you think the best Cosmere swords man is? I would assume it's between Taln and Arsteel, they are both noted as being the best fighters of their respective group. I would lean towards Taln since he has lived longer, although I don't know how much his skills improve while he is on Braize.

Best system to pair with Awakening?
Stick The Savant replied to Tamriel Wolfsbaine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I chose Bondsmith, it would probably allow for more complex commands due to the ability to manipulate spiritual connection. We really don't know a lot about Bondsmiths, but looking as what Ishar can do, I would wonder whether a skilled Bondsmith could Awaken with Stormlight. I also think that there may be a resonance where, the more breaths one has, they not only become better at awakening but Bondsmithing as well. -
Would a Dysian Aimian be able to become a Radiant?
Stick The Savant replied to Stick The Savant's topic in Stormlight Archive
I would think that lab grown gems would also hold Stormlight and should be able to be made into perfect gems. edit: I just checked an lab grown gems would hold Stormlight -
I know that Dysian Aimians (Sleepless) can form into humanlike colonies and have a hivemind conscience. If one wanted to bond a Spren, would they be able to? I assume the bond would be with the consciousness instead of an individual hordeling. This also brings to mind questions such as, what happens if the Aimian splits into two bodies(whitout creating a new Sleepless), do both get radiant abilities? would a single hordeling be able to use a surge like a human radiant can?
-
Can a Spren hold breaths? If so, would holding many breaths make it harder connect them more to the physical realm allowing them to manifest more fully in the physical like Spren with a high bond? Would a radiant Spren with heightenings grant stronger access to surges?
-
We that having the fifth heightening grants immortality. First, is this a basic property of investiture (I assume it is) Second, would a radiant with a constant stream of stormlight also be immortal. (yes this would be very hard to do) perhaps a Bondsmith could somehow allow them to draw directly from Honor/Cultivations investiture *(Biological immortality)

When he appears in era two Kelsier looks mostly like he did in era 1 (aside from the spike in his eye) when it comes to cognitive shadows it seems that only the Heralds are able to create new bodies (as far as we've seen). They don't seem to need anything extra like the Fused being required to take a body. this is notable because I think Kelsier has similarities to one or both of these kinds of returned. is it possible that one of the Ghostblood's first objectives on Roshar was gathering intel on how the Heralds create bodies when they return from braize or how the Fused are able to "comandeer" a body so that Kelsier could imitate those cognitive shadows and get a body? I think Kelsier would be more similar to the Heralds since the Fused's apperance is influenced by their host body.

We know that Jasnah had an illness as a child and it is heavily implied that she was treated with the "Methods" of the day from quotes such as this one from WoR: "Jasnah stared at that shadow—skin growing clammy, stomach clenched, the way she felt when she was about to vomit. Not again. She searched for another light source. A reason. Could she find a reason? No." assuming her perceived mental illness isn't a result of bonding Ivory or being influenced by investiture in any major way, are there any mental illnesses which would fit her situation?

This seems fun, I'd like to try a system that has a different focus from what im used to, I'll join.

This gives me a thought, since Nightblood doesn't seem leak investiture while sheathed, or at least leaks at a much slower rate, there must be some sort of relationship it has with it's sheath. I see three possibilities, either the sheath is invested, which brings up the question of whether it would be invested by the same breaths as Nightblood or if it is invested seperatly, the sheath could also function similarly to perfect gemstones, holding the investiture better than most other things, or Nightblood may go in to a "semi - dormant" state whenever it is sheathed, regardless of which sheath is used.

since aluminum stops healing around the area, would It not be logical to assume that it might affect other internal metals such as not allowing metals like a-pewter, a-tin, f-iron, to affect the area directly around the aluminum?

are medallions not considered a type of metalmind?

Love how he makes a sword look like a glorified steak knife!

I would argue that relative to the amount of investiture that Nightblood has, he consumed a lot of Odium, which is still as you said a miniscule portion of the whole shard I remember Brandon saying that Nightblood was full after devouring Odium but, would get hungry enough given some time. Do you think that he consumes investiture at a set rate or do you think that the amount of investiture he can hold is continually increasing? I don't think there is good evidence that beings who are kept alive by investiture (such as most cognitive shadows and spren) need to constantly be invested to remain alive. However, If returned don't get a weekly breath (or an equivalent amount of investiture) they consume their divine breath and die a week later. So either returned are special in the fact that they require a constant influx of investiture, or they are just the most visible example of this. I would also assume that, if this were the case, there would be apparent exceptions to the rule such as slivers who likely have enough investiture to survive for such an unbelievably long time that it's practically for ever. I guess that this could be an example of the second law of investiture (according to Brandon, "stands as is",[37] this refers to the fact that, in simple terms, energy flows from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration.) So it's probably most likely the answer to what is occurring, but I still think the content above was worthwhile enough to mention.

Elantrian with prep time is equal to all the hillbillies. With no prep time, he better hope the hillbilly left his gun at home and is very bad at first fighting

I don't think this should absolve him if his wrongs. Dalinar was also influenced by an unmade and had to atone in Oathbringer. I want to rank amaram highly on the villain list but most of that is because he was so horrible to Kaladin specifically.

I don't think that there is any need for ghost bloods to use invested arts. It is probably a pretty good qualification, but definitely not needed. The part about seeing the almighty could be referring to Adonalsium. But I'm not sure. The Storm Father has been wrong in the past

Is it possible to be partially logical? or does being emotional put you in some other third state? -
to be fair, Brandon has said that aluminum would be much easier to acquire as the tech of the Cosmere progresses. aluminum will likely be easy to obtain by era 3
