since the Storm Father is a bondsmith spren, it is very possible that the Nahel bond affects them slightly differently, the Nightwatcher for example seems to be able to think fairly well in the physical realm and the Sibling is capable of communication and can tell what the fused are trying to do with her. it could also be argued that the bondsmith spren, or at least the Sibling and Storm Father are more connected to the physical by default because of the highstorm and Urithiru

Rhythm of War- Nale as a Skybreaker
Stick The Savant replied to Daik Amaram's topic in Stormlight Archive
I feel like his justification could be along the lines of "it would be unjust to use shard plate against a foe when he can easily defeat them anyways" -
keeping with the theme of magic powers, would you rather have flight, or super speed?

It might be hard force people to register spikes, but, seeing that metal is so prominent on Scadrial I find it highly likely that metal detectors will exist and probably be fairly common by era 3. This would help counteract the issue of hidden spikes. If Scadrians also have x-ray machines by then it would be super easy to detect spikes. These could be placed at the entrance to many buildings such as schools, government buildings, and public transportation such as trains. Of an individual is found to have a spike, but has no paperwork, they would then be taken in.

I agree with the morality issues with hemalurgy, but, since era 3 will only be a few decades after era 2, I find it unlikely the northerners will find out how to make medallions. It's very likely that people in the north want to use hemalurgy in order to gain every possible advantage against the Malwish (perhaps spiking Malwish POWs) I think it's likley that the experiments the Set were performing with hemalurgy will lead to a breakthrough by era 3. If they find out how to safely steel small amounts of investiture with spikes, I could see a patriotic push for people to get spiked in order to arm the soldiers with powers. Medallions are better in many ways and are more ethical but, I don't think the northerners will have access to them aside from the relatively few medallions they already have.

The cult of the stick
Stick The Savant replied to follower's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
I'd watch my back, you never know when revenge could strike. -
I feel like a capture the flag type game would work well for metal born. Each team could have a different colored ball they have to defend wich would likely be best suited for thugs and brutes. The balls could have a small metal ball inside to allow coinshots and lurches to affect them (of course they would be protected by an aluminum basket or something so the other team actually has to steal it). I could see teams using tineyes and f-tin users to try to listen in on the other teams strategies (I think this would lead to creative ways for teams to talk tactics during a game). Pulsers could try to catch key players on the opposing team in a bubble and sliders might try to use a speed Buble to gain a boost. Microburst and leeches would definitely lead to interesting strategies (kinda like a game of tag for leechers) Only metal born which I'm not sure would work is f-steel ferring because the speed seems too op

Of course stick could use radiant abilities if he wanted to, he's basically confirmed to be shard level in strength at the very least -
The Bronze Palace?

This would imply that the Malwish weren't using trellium, I would like to see their method. It's also pretty logical that Autonomy's God metal would separate Harmonum into Lerasium and Attium (was Trellium used when the experiment was repeated?)

1. honor blades, I feel like the bands of mourning would be too easy for someone to steal, then I'd be in trouble 2. Feruchemist, The powers just seem so much more usefull in day to day life. also, once Brandon reveals the mechanics, I could make unsealed metal minds! 3. Elantrian but only I there Is a way for me to study the Dor outside of just running endless expirements 4.fifth oath probably Bondsmith, but perhaps Wind Runner or SkyBreaker (depends on how Diviison works)

Creating Easily Transferrable Powers
Stick The Savant replied to Trusk'our's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I'm not sure that you would be able to transfer the abilities simply based on the fact that the power is Endowment's investiture. we've seen that Zahel/Vasher is implicitly using Stormlight to remain alive by recharging his divine breath but it doesn't seem as though honor's intent is affecting him in a significant way (he doesn't need to swear oaths to access the investiture or anything like that). could you also clarify how the power is passed, do you mean someone could pass the power to another person from the spike, or would you have to spike the person who would pass on the power? -
I believe the inefficiency of compounding fueled immortality is a due to the fact that TLR still needs to store a bit of age in order to compound. We do know that feruchemichal youth is not a "default state of being" since it only lasts as long as the person is compounding or tapping the attribute. Since TLR needs to store age while he is not burning the metal, he likely gets diminishing returns since it is implied he still ages in a way as can be seen when the Lord ruler is described as looking very old.

I've definitely heard about people being potential mistings and mistborn of various types such as being a potential thug, slider, lurcher etc. has it been confirmed that a person's metal is predetermined before they snap, or could It be determined when they snap.

It would still work because it would help to let you know what to bet on and, for example, which number to pick on a roullette

1. mess with people by storing strength with pewter, go to the gym and slowly tap it as you workout so you leave the gym with a body builder physique 2.use electrum, steel , and zinc to improve procrastination. (why do the assignment 1 hour before the due date when you could do it 1 minute before the due date?) 3. tap chromium and make a fortune gambling
