  1. Ast'avi followed the older Reapers down towards where the monsters were threatening the line. She loosened her dagger in it's sheath, letting the magic within her well to the top. The stars above invigorated her. She felt as if the fatigue and wounds from her last encounter were fading... She remembered the strange surge of energy during the fight with the Wyvern. Supposedly from the Starmother, wherever she was...Avi doubted she'd feel that energy, or hear that voice, for a long time.
  2. So.

    Today is my Shardiversary.

It has been one year since, after quite a while lurking, I decided to join this community. Little did I know that the choice would mark a turning point in my life.

As I slowly got involved in the activities on the Shard, I made friends. Connections. One of the first friends I made was The Wandering Wizard, who, though I didn't realize it at the time, lived in the same city as me. After some social deduction (and some off handed mentions of penguin...excrement...) I realized where he lived, and managed to meet up with him.

A month or two later I met Cellist and Ranryu, and we got them to join too. During this era a bunch of other Sharders, many that I knew in real life and even more that I didn't, joined, and I somehow became popular.

I fit in this community now. I have a place. I have friends that I can confide in, friends that know how to help me when I need help. Joining this site has given me friendships in real life and made them stronger, but it's also let me connect with so many amazing people, people who think like me, people who I'd been looking for for a long time.

My time here has helped me realize who I am, I think. I've been able to greater understand my interests and goals and values in the last year, and while there were a great number of factors in that, this site, and the people here, have been a huge part in it.

I'm glad all of you became Sanderfans and decided to come here at one point or another. Because you being here has been a huge blessing in my life.

Thank you all, and here's to many more years!

      Happy Shardiversery

Wish I had the pleasure of knowing what you look like

  3. But why? (This is the actual next question that you should answer, next person, so I can edit it.)
  4. "If You Could Hie to Kolob" × "Lead Kindly Light" Might as well do "IYCHtK" × "A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief" again; I know Insa wanted to hear it. Uhhh "High on the Mountain Top" × "The Spirit of God" I might have some more later. Whenever you have time. @Shining Silhouette
  5. Mysterious Forest Pain laced through Bookwyrm as the darkness pierced him. The latent corruption in his mind flared, and he shoved it back down. You are not going to win this. I know. I have to stall until someone who can comes along. Come on, Calano...find the Creator's Light...we didn't bring you to that ocean of Light for nothing. The voice sighed. I'll support you as long as I can. But this endangers both of us to an extreme. Would you betray your friends in such a way? Have them face you as you follow the will of a dark being? Bookwyrm hesitated, but didn't answer. "What about Calano?" Bookwyrm asked Emma, staggering as he desperately tried to heal the wounds. Stormlight took longer than normal. So did Gold. The wounds finally closed, but the darkness was not so easily purged. He isolated it with the Light in his mind, vowing to deal with it later. It was only in his body. Not his soul. Yet. "I performed your marriage," he continued. "I felt the love. The magic wouldn't have worked if it didn't exist. Or did you find some way to fake that which is unfakeable?" @CalanoCorvus

  11. I'd love to play, but I'm pretty busy for the next while. Could I spectate? I will get back to SE...someday... Might be a while...

Takes a weirdo to keep a weirdo (in line)! Thank you for the birthday wishes.

  14. Avi stood amongst the reeds, breathing in the light and energy from the stars above. This will be helpful... She opened her eyes and scanned the area, looking at the sea of souls below. She frowned. "I don't see any monsters."
  15. So.

Yesterday was the State competition for the science fair run by the local Junior Academy of Sciences. Same thing as the Regional Competition, which I think I talked about. I had my poster and presented my research to a bunch of judges. The first few were really tough, they asked me hard questions. One listened politely, said I had good research, then questioned the validity and importance of the topic itself. The later judges were better.

From my school were five people at state; four seniors and me, a junior.

The awards ceremony took forever, but they had a bunch of cash prizes and scholarships from a bunch of sponsors, and I got a 250$ thingy from some organization that I know nothing about.

Then they announced the overall winners for State, the people who would go to Nationals.

And I was somehow one of them. Apparently my project impressed the judges enough for me to present my research in Denver, Colorado. There aren't any awards at Nationals; it's basically just a conference where science nerds get together and present their science. Which sounds fun. It's in February.

I am proud of this. I seem to be good at science. Which is nice, because I want to go into science as a career.

Also my ACT scores came back.

      Thanks, all!

The basic premise of my project was mapping light pollution through skyglow in the city where I live.

  16. Mysterious Forest The fragments of the spear dissolved into light. What are you DOING?! Something. Bookwyrm rolled and re-summoned his spear. It appeared out of glittering light back into his hand. "Why?!" he asked, standing and pointing the speartip at Emma. "Why would you-" He cut off. "You're really gone, aren't you?" he said softly. "Emma is dead. You aren't Emma. You're Kaos."
  17. Refnet: Underworld Entrance A vision flashed through his mind. A sense of loss. Bookwyrm's eyes widened. He turned and saw Insa, a look of dread on her face. It...no. Bookwyrm shoved his mind into the space between dimensions, looking for the place where it had happened. It was easy. The emptiness was almost tangible. He found it...a dreamscape-like plane, a path in a forest. A world with no form where it was all coming together. Bookwyrm turned to Insa and Rue. "Get the patients into the cavern. Just jump down the hole. The wind will help you land softly, and the cavern should be filled with vegetation. Fruit and vegetables to eat. Animals to hunt, if needed. Fresh water. Just make sure they're safe before you leave." Then space and time warped around him, and he vanished. Mysterious Forest Path Bookwyrm appeared directly in front of Emma as she ran. He summoned his spear-staff and swung the light-laced blade at Emma while simultaneously trapping her in a gravitational field to hold her still. @The Wandering Wizard
