    The reason is that Honor wanted to limit surgebinding powers, so he created the honorblade to be weak, spren bonds were also originally restricted in power(we know that modern Radiants are more powerful than those of old), but then Honor died, and the spren lost their restrictions. The honorblades we're not able to change though, because they weren't "new" bonds.

    Ultimately, tis a monarchy/feudalist society. Social standing for those not deemed royalty(king, highprinces) is based on economic stature, but the rulers are not selected based on wealth. Edit: I just realized we've been defining oligarchy wrong. Oligarchy has nothing to do with wealth, only that a small group collectively make laws together. Still a monarchy though.

    I found a copy of Dawnshard at my library, and I'm very excited. This is the second Brandon book they have(the other is RoW) and I don't remember the book all that well from when I snagged the ebook version.

    Also, Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a more difficult read that LoTR , according to the Lexile Framework for Reading.

    You'd have to do a lot of hacking your soul to manage it, because breaths are probably very specific in how the energy can manifest.

    It cannot. Also, I would appreciate it if you stayed away from answers that are entirely just saying "no this is wrong", but instead at least explain what you think to be correct. Breaths do not wear out. Energy is output when things are awaked. The first law of thermodynamics is expanded to include investiture. If breath did not bring energy from the spiritual, one of those three things we know are true would have to be false, thus we know breath has to pull energy from the spiritual.
