I think the ramen from midnight painter would be fun to try. Idk how exactly it would be different but I remember someone saying Design has counted out the specific grains of salt for the recipes so that would be kind of fun to mimic.

So like... why is Ishar trying to do that?
Elite01 replied to coolsnow7's topic in Stormlight Archive
Tough to say why... Ishar's main goal is to defeat Odium right? That is why he tried to take the stormfather from Dalinar so how does physical spren help with that? It could be the physical body theory but I am not sure if he is trying to escape. I like the theory of artificial surgebinders. He is nowhere close to it but if he could bring spren into the physcial world and they retained some surgebinding that would be an interesting army to fight against the fused. -
Is Adolin a half-Stoneward-Edgedancer?
Elite01 replied to Soulcaster05's topic in Stormlight Archive
I agree that the odds of a cultivationspren being used to create a stoneward are next to zero but I always thought it would be interesting that if Adolin was our first two-order radiant, part Edgedancer and part Stoneward. I like that he is the regular no-powers character and don't want that to change but he is the best placed to be part of two orders in my opinion. Brandon has said in a WoB that you can be a part of two orders as long as both spren agree, you also have to juggle your oaths which can be difficult but you get access to multiple orders/surges.- 12 replies

Without going into the specifics of how it would work the questions I what if we met a character in era 3 who was an adult Kandra hybrid human hybrid what abilities would they have. I think it could have mild abilities like eye color change or affecting skin tone like a tan. A more fun option would be to have mild shape shifting like being able to manipulate your fingers into tendrils to pick a door’s lock but not being able do anything more like completely abandon its skeleton. im personally in the camp that they would be able to manipulate skin and muscle like a kandra but be limited by staying attached to their bones. heres a different question could a hybrid have allomancy or feruchemy?

Could be about how just like how his Torment prevents him from hurting others it could stop the user from hurting themselves as well. We see in the book that he can trick his Torment based off his intent so there could be a workaround if he thought spiking himself wouldn't be causing harm. Could be he also doesn't know the bind point or metal needed to spike away something like that.

That is a pretty good list and I haven’t read white sand in a while so I can’t think of too much more. maybe some kind of cognitive test? Kenton had a pretty good head on his shoulders and was able to think and strategize which made him useful besides sand mastery so maybe something like that? this is a really unlikely one but if anyone has seen avatar the last airbender, the airbenders in that show had to create a new way to use air to become a master so maybe creating a new method to use sand could be a test for the highest levels.

Why doesn’t the Hallandren military have more lifeless cavalry?
Elite01 replied to Nightstar The Bright's topic in Warbreaker
Somewhat off topic but I would love to see more of the Hallendran government and army. With creatives uses of lifeless they could do lost of interesting things lifeless birds to deliver messages lifeless wolves or other predators that aren’t usually used in a military would become options even if they aren’t practical -
So if nanomedicine is possible but not super practical what about the opposite? Make some tiny awakened robots and put them in someone’s drink with the command to mess with their insides and you could have a convoluted way to poison someone

I think compounding copper could be useful to make back up copper minds burn a memory and then you have let’s say 2 or 3 in your head. Store those in separate copper minds and now you can stash them in different places in case you lose the original. If we toss in unkeyed copper minds this could be useful to spread information but there are some hoops you have to jump through for that to work.

I wonder if A-Cadmium will be useful in space age mistborn. There’s lots of sci fi material where people will freeze themselves to travel for hundreds of years while they are asleep. A-Cadmium could make it seem like a month passed when you in fact have been traveling for years. Not the best form of space travel but would have its merits.

I think orders we haven’t seen like a stoneward POV would be good but Brandon might save that for later. I would love to see the Purelake again. I’ve heard rumors of fish bonding spren like Skyeels and would like to get more evidence for that.

Could you use a certain rhythm to make anger or other emotion Spren “deposit” that emotion to other people to get bootleg emotional allomancy? playing a certain rhythm to attract and interact with music spren would be interesting but I don’t know what effect it would have. doing something similar with wind spren to provide wind for a sail of a ship would be interesting. it begs the question of how much can spren create/influence

What is a question you would ask for a WoB if you could?
Elite01 replied to Walter The Moral's topic in Cosmere Discussion
My questions would be If divine breath can be used to heal any injury can you use a large number of regular breaths to achieve the same result? What would the command be? We have seen ghostbloods on Roshar and Scadrial, can we assume there are cells on other planets as well? How did Lift enter Dalinars vision that one time? -
Stormlight 5 interlude reading (cosmere spoilers)
Elite01 replied to The flying spider's topic in Cosmere Discussion
A common theory is that Odium will somehow get Dalinar to break the contract and the repercussions lets him gain power. This could be someone interfering like Kaladin trying to save Dalinar if he is going to be killed or Dalinar refusing to kill the champion if you believe in the child champion theory. I don’t remember specifics but TavOdium makes it seem like there is still a way for him to win in the end of stormlight 4 -
Stormlight 5 interlude reading (cosmere spoilers)
Elite01 replied to The flying spider's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I would assume it’s something to do with Odium getting more power over Roshar. Can remember specifics but I remember hearing certain shards like Can limit travel to their planet through the cognitive realm. Cusicech might have waited till the last possible moment to leave and the everstorm was just a natural disaster but didn’t affect relmatic travel. -
Stormlight 5 interlude reading (cosmere spoilers)
Elite01 replied to The flying spider's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think that makes sense. It’s also described as looking towards the origin of the highstorms so it could have been studying honor/the perpendicularity. My actual theory is it’s just locals assuming all perpendicularitys are honors path because they don’t know any other name to call it. No evidence just a hunch. i feel like when we see locals interacting with the general cosmere they always assume it’s something familiar like surgebinding or “allomatic magic” and having a local pov isn’t always trustworthy. -
Stormlight 5 interlude reading (cosmere spoilers)
Elite01 replied to The flying spider's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I loved the interlude but have a lot of questions. The main one is how did Cusicesh open all those perpendicularities? I can't remember the exact wording but the spren says I will guide you on the 5th migration. Can we assume Cusicesh was there for all of the other migrations? How would a spren get connected to the migration in the first place? My crackpot theory is the Cusicesh isn't a spren but is something else that is sprenlike in qualities but more powerful and can somehow travel amongst planets. -
Well here is the question what if you awakened a dead tree and asked it to lift something (much like characters use cloth or rope in the books) those objects generally don't have the ability but gain it to fulfill the command. So could you command a tree to do something similar? Or would it automatically become lifeless? Could it be argued that a lifeless can only be created from something with a brain? Just some random questions but I think it would actually just act as a cloth or rope for most purposes. Maybe with a specific intent, you could try to make it a lifeless. Similar question though, could you awaken a table easily because it was once alive?

I think the theory of using something to attract the splinters seems more likely. We saw in Oathbringer that Gloryspren were attracted to Dalinar while swearing his third ideal. I think in a similar way Dalinar could somehow attract the splinters instead of seeking them out. The actual mechanics are much more foggy but some combination of Intent and connection magic would help. And a complete shot in the dark I wonder if in a similar way Elantris spoiler We probably won't know until it happens but fun to think about. other random ideas -maybe having all the honorblades in the same location could help pool splinters because it's most likely a large amount of Honor's god metal. An absolute crack theory is that he somehow eats a bit of Honor's god metal and that does it. I don't think it would happen or that's even how Honor's metal would work but that would be a crazy way to do it. -maybe Navani could build some kind of giant fabrial -can't remember the theories about the role Cultivation played in Honor's death but if she wanted to reform him then a shard helping out would make things easier.

Skybreakers in space means a second recreance?
Elite01 replied to Atlas333's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I mean Shallan was working with the Ghostbloods and she was a lightweaver. I feel like within most orders there could be individuals who are able to view their oaths in a way to align with the ghostbloods, besides maybe edgedancers, windrunners, and maybe truthwatchers but we don't have enough information in my opinion. A random question that isn't super related is which order would make the best diplomats? Skybreakers do well for their convenience but why not have a skybreaker bring an edgedancer or something to do the actual talking. The only con is I don't think you can lash shard plate so traveling through space without shard place and only stormlight might not be possible. -
Yeah it isn't a cosmere constant for sure but its still interesting to think about Like maybe you could be accepted by the Alethi if you fought well in multiple battles and was seen as one of them. This could maybe help with an offworlder becoming a radiant stormligh spoilers Someone introducing an offworlder to sand masterery could do something similar Tress spoilers

I wonder how this would work on other planets. How would a group of Scadrians or Rosharians "invite" someone to become connected to a second planet? Not enough information to say but it's an interesting thing to think about.

As far as euthanasia goes would it be better to give people who are close to death to the chorus? That way they would be contained as soon as they become a shade but you wouldn't get a sunheart out of it though.

Just a stab in the dark but could it have felt different because it was being forced upon him and was somehow "alien" to his soul or something? Other times we see weight being used it is an ability they already have or a medallion where they are at least choosing to manipulate their weight. Maybe without the choice or intent to be heavier, his soul resists the change which is what causes the feeling? I still think an iron-atium alloy is a more likely theory.

That is an interesting idea, even though it causes a lot of problems for them avoiding the sun it also does a good job of preventing another planet from being overrun with shades. Makes me wonder if they just randomly found this planet or if there were some criteria they were using when selecting the planet.
