A part of Sureblood lives on! Musicspren confirmed in book now?

Kaladin imagined one of the worst days of his life because Shallan wasn't well. It all makes sense.
-
But it isn't rare for an animal to have several bonds. Greatshells bond many Mandras to sustain their sizes.
-
Hoid put some Lerasium with a Lightweaving to hide it in Kaladin's bag. Undoubtable this is the only answer.
-
It seems a bit like Gold and Malatium - Which appears to have some connection to Fortune considering what Kalak says about her drawings. She's drawing, essential, Malatium Shadows of people.

New Contract Loophole Theory: Ecological Disaster
BinarySecond replied to coolsnow7's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think this lends credibility to Taravangian not being able to harm Kharbranth/citizens without Cultivation coming in with the steel chair. I don't think it's silly. 1) He can't break the oath - Cultivation or others can exploit the vulnerability that leaves. 2) If he can "cancel" the pact I don't think that's easily done either - I don't think it's impossible but I don't think it would be as simple as "I undo the deal" and it's done. I'll be happily, perhaps not happily, surprised if this does happen - From a story telling perspective it would feel weak, for me at least.- 24 replies

New Contract Loophole Theory: Ecological Disaster
BinarySecond replied to coolsnow7's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think the oath is with Odium rather than Rayse; and at no point did Rayse require Taravangian not to kill him - How's that for honoring the letter and spirit of the agreement I can't recall the exact lines in RoW as he ascends and contemplates the agreement unfortunately.- 24 replies

New Contract Loophole Theory: Ecological Disaster
BinarySecond replied to coolsnow7's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Important to note that I don't think Taravangian can cause any harm to come to Kharbranth. Odium is bound by oath to keep leave it unharmed - Can Taravangian walk back an oath his current "office" made with himself in his previous "office"? He cannot break the Oath as that leaves him vulnerable - As stated by Rayse to Dalinar. I don't think he would be able to cleanly divest himself of the oath he swore. "Kharbranth,” Odium said. “The city itself, and any humans who have been born into it, along with their spouses. This is whom I will spare. Do you agree to this?”- 24 replies

What Vasher was doing during the occupation.

The meta answer is him being there with existing knowledge of anti light spoils Navani's arc for RoW. -
Who’s talking to Kaladin? / Who is the Wind discussion
BinarySecond replied to Lord Spirit's topic in Cosmere Discussion
If the Nightwatcher is an Ado-Original, essentially, corrupted/unmade by Cultivation. And the Stormfather is also an OG spren, but is now of Honor. I think it would make sense for there to be another original Spren unmade by Odium. It's like poetry, they rhyme. -

I'm thinking pre-splintering; my understanding Odium did that once Tanavast died and left the shard behind. -

Fair enough - Honor was still around at least; not completely outlandish but perhaps not likely in the end. -

BinarySecond replied to Lord Spirit's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I've always wondered if the human heartbeat matches up with Honors Pure Tone "vibrant beat, stately and controlled" This is the description from the Coppermind but I've always wondered if there was something more literal to the phrase "Honor is not dead so long as he lives in the hearts of men". That it isn't just a nice thing they like to say but instead it's literal. -

Any chance Syl is something beyond a regular Honour Spren? She is the last created by Tanavast that is still "alive" A contingency? Any reason Tanavast couldn't do it as well? -

That warm place is the spiritual realm surely - Tien was there - I think it's a point in favour of another Oathbringer with all the heroes ending up together in the same place at the end. -

My assumption is the voice is feminine - He does check to make sure it's not Syl, and I don't think she sounds very much like Tanavast. -
Splitting Radiant spren: let's make a gazillion!
BinarySecond replied to JStonehaus's topic in Stormlight Archive
I would be very interested to see how they would behave when split - Can they still hold a conversation? How would it impact a Nahel bond if they had one? -
Thoughts on Re-Released Prologue
BinarySecond replied to CtrlAltDepressed's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The updates were *mwah* chefs kiss. Still a Stormfaker die hard - He just behaves so completely differently I cannot fathom it being Him. Vasher still at it enabling war crimes, good job buddy. Bump those rookie numbers. -
Thanks! I've just about finished the prologue on Reactor - I'm doubling down - this isn't the Stormfather. Too many things about this entity just don't fit with the Stormfather's behaviour/personality. I don't remember Vasher in the previous reading but that is so exciting to read. Saw a thought on reddit; any chance of Cultivation having a hand in any of this?
-
I've been an audiobook enjoyer for all my Cosmere experience. But I am aware the Stormfather has a particular font and style in the books; can any conclusion be drawn from the written prologue we have now been blessed with? The only thing I can think of presently is regarding the repeated mention of Champion, that Odium seeks a champion. Particularly this line "He has potential you do not see, that one." But maybe I'm just a Stormfauxther die hard and won't accept the truth in front of me.

I personally believe he's trying to force radiant bonds. Spren have to cross over to the physical realm when making a bond. If he can bring spren through, use his bondsmithing to force a nahel bond he's got unbound radiant - I assume he doesn't have many.
-
Why do no spren (seemingly) want to bond Adonlin?
BinarySecond replied to EdgedancerJacob's topic in Stormlight Archive
I'm betting a reverse edgedancer. No, I don't know what that means, but I'll bet on it.- 25 replies

Stormblessed: A play based on The Way of Kings

Shame about the recording; but understandable. What's the global region? United States?
