  1. My suspicion is that the humans of Roshar over thousands of years have become closer and closer to intuitively hearing the rhythms. Navani was able to by making close contact with Investiture, I won't be surprised if Kaladin hears them on swearing a 5th ideal.
  2. I think this is the thing - We don't have any idea where the Investiture "consumed" by Nightblood actually goes. Aluminium acts like a short circuit to the spiritual realm, but I highly doubt of a sword of Aluminium would behave the way NB does. I don't believe it is destroyed though, I think it's going somewhere.
  3. So it's pretty well established that entities in the physical realm have a bead that represents them in Shadesmar. And they have some level of persona, e.g. "I am a stick", at some point that stick would have viewed itself as part of a tree rather than just a stick. Is there any clear indication as to how long entities retain their identity, for example the individual planks of wood that make up Bridge 4. Is there one bead that represents Bridge 4 or one for each disparate piece that comprises it? At this point I'm sure it's all coalesced into a single bead given how the members of Bridge 4 (The team, not the bridge itself) have treated it. This leads me to my next thought: What will happen to that bead and the ones for the entities that comprise the Fourth Bridge. If Bridge 4 is thought of more strongly would it become the dominant aspect of the whole? I'd love to see Shallan or Jasnah observe Bridge 4 in Shadesmar. We saw the Wind's Pleasure strongly desire to continue carrying the crew, would the Fourth Bridge respond more strongly to member of Bridge 4? Or just treat all passengers the same?
  4. Honestly I can imagine Hoid being a true villain in the back half. Apologetically of course, but without hesitation. For us, and our heroes to be betrayed by someone who has been such a close ally would be a big gut punch.
  5. A use could be an individual is dying and wishes to allow their ability to be retained for the future descendants, even if their direct descendants do not wish to use it. Sure maybe your kids won't help but their children might want to be a Pewterarm.
  6. Do we know if Spike can be created with suicide? Or if it requires someone on the other side with a hammer and some intent?
  7. Yes, IIRC the 16 used the Dawnshards in the Shattering. My personal belief is that Adonalsium created the Dawnshards as tools. Kind of like...if anyone has read/listened to The Sandman, at the very start he has his Helm, Ruby etc.
  8. I always figured that Hoid wants an aspect of each Shard just so he can have access to all their investiture. He seems to find it all very useful, I've never speculated beyond he just wants it for the lulz.
  9. In which case I'm very interested to see how this plays out and if we get more clarity on the true identity of Trell in The Lost Metal.
  10. I've got this Truthwatcher_17.5 Is Trell a Shard of Adonalsium? Brandon Sanderson I will RAFO that one too, I'm afraid. Idaho Falls signing (Dec. 29, 2018) If there is a better WOB you can point to, I'd appreciate it.
  11. This is exactly right, at the end of HoA Elend and Vin both choose to move on. Sazed restored their bodies but even then he states it was already too late. It's important to note as well that Rhythm of War, chronologically, comes before Mistborn Era 2 has begun, so Sazed has decades craft this sword. Coincidentally I believe that's all the Odium is doing as well, he plans to wage war against other but cannot continue to do so as the nature of the Shard becomes overwhelming. The sword is strictly free from the constraints of the Shard's nature.
  12. Thanks for making this thread. I overlaid the map and the Aon to place the chasm line. I couldn't figure it out where it was supposed to be listening to the audiobook.
  13. I have to disagree here. The fact this theory only lists 14 Shards leaves enough room for doubt, in my mind, that the entity Trell could be either of the remaining unknown Shards. Autonomy seems far too content to remain in their own areas of the Cosmere with their Splinters. There must be additional negative, (only negative due to their isolation from Adonalsium as a whole) aspects available. While Odium immediately set about the destruction of other Shards I'll put my money on a more patience, cunning Shard. (Capital C Cunning?) Regardless, Trell isn't Dalinar is my feelings on the original post.
  14. Brain mother and brain father's when?
  15. Normally Breaths can be withdrawn, at least in part, from an Awakened item. If you could do that to Nightblood...what in the Cosmere would happen...
  16. Could it be Endowment? Or some kind of...Breath export comission? There is the concern that it's very easy for a Worldhopper to arrive on Nalthis, buy a bunch of breaths and then leave. Leaving Nalthis at a deficit that can only be replenished through population spikes. Nightblood is 1000 breaths IIRC?
  17. Well yes, I have to say it was compelling due to it rationality. But a 5th truth of "I am one of the original heralds" would be so funny to me.
  18. I was reading the OP and something struck me about Shallan being referred to as "one of them" What is she's a herald? Totally crazy but...I find it compelling.
  19. I find that more compelling that, dead plate at least, is the same Spren using investiture to regrow the form it has adopted.
  20. I'm really hoping they are the same Windspren throughout. I hope someone can sacrifice themselves to get a WOB on this one.
  21. Hi, Do we know if the windspren that forms Kaladin's plate in RoW are the same windspren that were with him throughout the novels; for example when he defeats Szeth above the Shattered Plains. It would be nice if Brandon could confirm if the windspren were always following him around.
  22. I'm ready to go off regarding Ba-Ado-Mishram!
