  1. Maaaaaaan, at least you get signings to visit. Here I am, in backwoods nowhere Florida, where nobody in their right mind ever approaches anywhere even remotely near. ;_;
  2. Well, for example, in http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1076#18Bavadin was referred to as male. I'm sure it's not the only instance either.
  3. I just remembered I have like ~$50 store credit at a comic shop in town. Definitely gonna use some of that for this comic. Might as well.
  4. I wonder how Cosmere dragon physiology works, and if this means Frost could breathe in a vacuum.
  5. This and One Piece are the main two pieces of fictional media I am waiting to end. It's weird knowing One Piece will actually finish BEFORE the overall Cosmere meta.
  6. Whoa wait what? I heard a singular post-mention about him maaaaaybe wanting to do a 'cyberpunk' book, or books, in between Modern and Future but this is the first I've heard of another pre-Modern book.
  7. Something that just hit me. So with the "Three of Sixteen ruled but now the Broken One reigns" quote. We have a safe assumption that it refers to Honor, Cultivation, and Odium, right? And based upon that, it's pretty much been confirmed that Odium is the current "ruler". But we don't know why Odium is considered broken, right?
  8. Sure, but with all the wacky stuff going on in the meta, with a "Beyond"/"God Beyond" and "Adonalsium being assumed to have created the universe" (obviously making it unlikely to have something at its level of strength/ability), I wonder if we might see dimension-hoppers or something strange like that.
  9. Does the weapon made to oppose Adonalsium originate from Adonalsium's universe?
  10. But where is Ironeyes? What is Marsh doing? If he's doing off-world stuff, he must be max espionage because his physical appearance is pretty one-of-a-kind.
  11. I don't think we've gotten full confirmation that we'll even get Liar, and Dragonsteel is set to be written after SA. Era 4 Mistborn is supposed to be the grand finale of the Cosmere.
  12. I honestly don't know anything about Peter himself beyond being an assistant. I didn't know that he also writes--if he did that or still does. The author who got me into hard sci-fi had a PhD in Astrophysics so good on Peter.
  13. I'm curious to know what Peter's educational background is since he seems to be the physicist in the group.
  14. Does the Weapon that opposed Adonalsium possess sentience? Does the Weapon that opposed Adonalsium possess sapience?
  15. I think new books are to be discussed strictly in their sub-forums for the first two weeks after their release, and then elsewhere is fine but I'm far too lazy to look for official rules.
  16. So that's it? After all these years, that's the official explanation? Huh.
  17. Well in the context of "mentally ill" there are two main definitions: Mentally ill is the description of a mental ILLness, mental disorder, etc. etc. or Mentally ill as in "haha X person is mentally ILL, nanner nanner boo boo" in a derogatory, insulting manner. I figure you meant the former definition, and I don't personally care if you meant the latter (so don't mistake this as me being upset or something, don't worry); I was only musing about it.
  18. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I wish we had the Elantris sequels already.
  19. I think it fits much better as a spectrum--the way it is now--than how it was in the past. There is a world of difference between high-functioning autism and low-functioning autism. I have diagnosed ASD myself, among other things. Obviously high-functioning (mostly involving anxiety and social retardation, in my own words). It doesn't personally bother me. Meanwhile, low-functioning autists cannot even function as normal human beings. Don't you think low-functioning autists who cannot perform basic tasks such as cleaning themselves up after using a restroom, or even simple verbal communication, should be cured? I know someone whose fifteen-year-old son is severely autistic and she has never been able to hold a conversation with her own child. I'm pretty sure she wishes he was cured of the disorder. I'm certain any parent would be if it were that severe.
  20. Autism Spectrum Disorder is classified as a mental illness and listed in the DSM-V, regardless of personal opinion toward the matter. Maybe the other person meant "ill" literally" or "ill" in this context. Who knows.
  21. Of course. They have connection with each other--and probably other like-organizations on other worlds. Figured it was a given.
  22. I figure it may be something to do involving the Worldbringers.
  23. There isn't an 'official' name for Shardworlds without a Shard yet, right? Are they still considered Shardworlds but with a distincition between a major Shardworld (Scadrial, Sel, etc.) and a world without an Invested Shard (Threnody, First of the Sun)? Or is that just what we refer to them as?
  24. Finished Black Sun Rising a few weeks back. Started and finished the Sword of Bayne trilogy--simple Amazon fantasy series I've had the first book of on my Kindle for about two years. Was surprisingly decent for what it was, Fantasy with a neat sci-fi twist. Now I'm finally reading Childhood's End for the first time.
  25. I really need to sift through my post history and make a list of all the questions I've asked, especially in order of importance. I live in Florida and nobody ever comes here for book signings so my only method is to bug you nerds to ask questions for me.
