Gotcha. I kind of interchange between how I pronounce and how you pronounce so I was curious as to which is the correct one.
-
How is Scadrial pronounced? I say it as "Scad-ree-al" (al rhymes with hal or foul).

We know that Braize is Damnation but I don't know if it would have been the Tranquiline Halls at one point. Doesn't make sense to me, personally.

You put forth no evidence either, aside from your own anecdotal opinion. http://psychcentral.com/lib/intelligence-linked-to-bipolar-disorder/0005518 shows correlation between high school performance and risk of developing bipolar disorder amongst males. http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn17474-artistic-tendencies-linked-to-schizophrenia-gene.html shows a relation between schizophrenia and creativity. http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0077215 shows correlation between high intelligence in someone with schizophrenic who has a family history of psychosis versus somebody with schizophrenia who does not have a family history of psychosis, which is interesting. Another article which discusses a study that talks about creativity in schizophrenia and other psychosis: http://www.academia.edu/852012/Concepts_of_Intelligence Persons with higher IQ scores exhibit depression which then tapers off to people with depression having the highest IQ readings. It's the theory that the more you know, you become depressed by the reality, and how awful and meaningless everything truly is. Of course, the higher intelligence and psychosis correlation is not present in every member showing a disorder. These are called "outliers" and they are present in every single study.

Undoubtedly RAFO but: Was Hoid a member of the opposition to Adonalsium? If so, is he still?
-
Why do you say that? Nothing in your post makes my statement incorrect.

I kind of wondered if the Nightwatcher gave him schizophrenia since people with certain severe mental disorders (schizophrenia/bipolar disorder) exhibit high levels of intelligence, but his 'normal' days are akin to medicated days.

Kind of. All I've ever wanted was a meta-series and I finally have it so nothing can compare. Although I do still love certain other series because they're darker and more realistic.

Crazy Theory-Odiums Victory and Series Future
Asperity replied to Zionite's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't think Kaladin would get wrecked but I don't think he'll necessarily win either (at least so soon.) If it were any other Roshar-native character then I'd agree and say they'd get wrecked. I don't feel like the clash with Odium as far as Roshar goes will happen so soon as the first half of SA but I figure something related to the overall SA story will tie-in to whatever happens during modern Mistborn since that'll happen between the two halves. It bugs me because we still have not the first hint as to what will occur during the second half and I can't see this lasting ten books so something has GOT to happen that we have absolutely no foggy idea about to make it stretch so long. -
Are there any "rogue" worldhoppers like Hoid, and if so, on Hoid's level? Are the majority of current worldhoppers (during the books that have been written so far) part of the 17th Shard?

Do we have even confirmation that each Shard has a pool?

Your 'Most perfect scene' from a book you've read
Asperity replied to Shardlet's topic in General Discussion
Not to sound a fanboy but I really did enjoy the scene where Kaladin got his powers back because of the ascendance in rank and the appearance of wings. I really love the concept of wings (if it's well done) in fiction, then when he arrived on the Plains like a comet. I have a bit of a hard-on for vengeance and justice scenes/stories. The main scene I can remember that I thought was well-done was the ending to the Black Company series because it's one of the very very few series I've read where loose ends and the main story are all tied up without any gimmicks involved. Everything was explained properly and it was all fantastic. -
Urgh, I wish he'd go on ahead and tell us what would have happened if Vin spoke with Hoid that night. He wouldn't be vague if it wasn't important but no details have been provided yet so it seems like a carrot dangling in front of my nose.

Could go along with the "spiritually dead" bit.

I joined. I'm on Steam all day everyday so I'd be down to idle in chat if we can get a handful around some days.

Which Shard has been held by the most amount of people? Has there been a Sliver whose personality has been 100% changed/turned around by a Shard? Can a non-sentient lifeform hold a Shard?
-
I wonder if Leras was mentioned as 'a Sliver would be like this too' or specifically Leras, too.

Graphic novel medium would remove any text dedicated to description and that is a good chunk alone.
-
Word. Maybe "How does Elsecalling affect world-hopping?"
-
Since White Sand is becoming a graphic novel, it will probably be a singular story then. And iirc, if Liar is written, wasn't it going to be a duology? But that still doesn't add or remove any books, really. Well, removes the Taldain trilogy if it becomes singular.
-
Is Elsecalling related to world-hopping?
-
We don't know anything about Endowment's Shardpool, if it even has one.
-
When Kaladin arrives at the end to fight Szeth and during the vs. Szeth fight.
-
On another note, I really hope Nightblood doesn't turn into a deus ex machina-type since it's a Shardblade (before we even knew what Shardblades were back in Warbreaker) and leagues more powerful for an as-of-yet-unknown reason. I really don't want it becoming an unstoppable weapon for no reason.

That's interesting; doesn't surprise me. Could be from a mixture of multiple magic systems + the magicks we don't yet know about which give him such power. Plus, never forget that knowledge = power too although it's notable that he's the most powerful non-Shard despite not being the most Cosmere-aware.
