  1. Same reasons here. I agree with ya.
  2. I finished House of Chains finally and began Revelation Space.
  3. The Black Company series is very amazing. The Malazan series is also quite good (still in the process of reading that one) and it drew inspiration from Black Company. Demon Cycle, as suggested above, is decent as well. All three in the dark fantasy category. Kingkiller Chronicles was also suggested. If you enjoy having a Gary Stu as your main protagonist, and nothing that really deviates from most fantasy novels, then you would likely enjoy it.
  4. Yep. Watched the entire series twice. It drags on here and there, especially towards the last two seasons, and the ending is a bit... unimpressive. But otherwise, I loved it. Great character development.
  5. Is the current state of Odium controlled moreso by Odium itself or by Rayse? I know Intent can change the personality of the Shardholder but Rayse was already a bit malicious to begin with, evidently.
  6. How long has it been unsafe to world-hop to Sel? Did the event to make it unsafe occur post-Shattering?
  7. Was there a fall or regression in technological advancement when Adonalsium was shattered? Were the magic systems used by the majority of people pre-Adonalsium or was the 'magic' kept only to a few? (I know that it likely would not make a great story if everybody had super powers so that's what I'm trying to get at as in if there is/was an actual reason.)
  8. I like it. Seems legit. It still blows me away how much hidden subtle things are in these books.
  9. Clarke's Third Law is my favorite fictional concept. I hope it becomes incorporated in fictional media in the future. I'm very excited to play Tides of Numenera because of this.
  10. Got gifted Grim Dawn over Steam so I'm checking that out for now. I know there is an item in-game called a Mistborn talisman and there seems to be a race of troll called Mistborn but I suspect it is its own creation; no reference.
  11. House of Chains. I think I -may- start the Revelation Space series afterwards.
  12. I'm currently playing RIFT again. I'm actually in a random guild with a 'Rysn' but I never got a reply when I asked if their name was from SA.
  13. I was going to comment on the dual planet sides but I can't really complain since White Sand was written before Mistborn. Hopefully, it will stay limited to those two, at least.
  14. Was Mistborn not originally a YA series? Huh.
  15. I figure it will probably involve a variation of an Alcubierre Drive. Maybe with that one movie featuring it coming out soon, it'll get more attention.
  16. So I've been on a hard sci-fi kick recently and I realized that while I know FTL travel will be explained because of the magic system, do you think we'll have the other advanced technologies that an advanced civilization would possess explained in decent detail, too? And I guess the same goes for all the meta too. It would be cool for, say, Shadesmar/Spirtual Realm/etc to be different dimensional planes or different universes or something instead of all the meta being explained off as magic (if that makes sense).
  17. As we get closer to the end of the Cosmere timeline, will we see more items like Nightblood? I wanted to say weapons instead of items but I'm not sure which would be a better word for this question.
  18. I'm watching Saint Seiya for now. It's amazing.
  19. Stuff like this makes me wonder what all is in the existing books that we don't know about AND he has no intent of telling us about.
  20. If you could ask about the existence of a possible 'Perception' Shard, that would be awesome. Or if he were to create a Shard of that type, what would he call it?
  21. Will FTL travel have anything to do with the Alcubierre drive? http://www.daviddarling.info/encyclopedia/A/Alcubdrive.html (Mainly because no theoretical horribly dire consequences to the crewmembers.)
  22. I don't feel that there was any Cosmere-related influence upon Sadeas. He always appeared to be a mere power-hungry leader lusting for the old days of success and conquest. I have no idea why people read so much into him.
  23. Was Saint Seiya an influence for shardplate? Are there any existing entities currently in the Cosmere that have been in existence since the beginning of the Cosmere? (Essentially a way to find out if anyone is 'immortal' or whatnot.)
  24. I would assume he believes she is from Scadrial.
