Electricity (To kill people)
Aspiring Writer replied to Aspiring Writer's topic in General Discussion
Okay, from what I can tell from grounding, it's dispersing electricity into the earth through a grounding network to prevent damage, which does not equate with people who don't disperse electricity into the ground. The grounding system for the buildings are kinda like roots, so human feet would not useful for grounding as you imply as they would not be able to disperse the energy into the ground to protect themselves. -

Well, climate becomes importent then, and a lot of this is happening in really cold conditions (Which probably has it's own issues I should look for, like frostbite.) -

One, plate armor is not one single piece, so I don't know why you think the person wouldn't die, and two, why would do you think that's the case if metal was touching the ground? Can I have your source so I can understand this, because that will impact things in my world. -
Electricity (To kill people)
Aspiring Writer replied to Aspiring Writer's topic in General Discussion
... okay, I think we're both confusing each other. So if a person wearing full plate armor and someone who could produce enough electricity to kill them in let's say two seconds in their hands touchs their breastplate and shocks them, would the person in the armor not die? -
I could have him pushing through people in his attempt to escape at the beginning. That could definitely make it a more intense start. Wonderful suggestion, thanks. also @Robinski I actually found a little more with making Q a bit more likable. Q has two intense hatreds that make him how he is, however, I may have let that leak in places I don't have to, specifically with the meatshield. He hates Hosts, not everyone, so before he uses the person, he can apologize before flying and throwing the person. he will still take advantage of someone to save his life, he's desperate, but he'll still be apologetic. Would that make him more likable/understandable?

hopefully fun Coup (the game)

yeah, but we can easily steal from her and block her. Then again, I don't think we're going to care too much about her when we're each others biggest rivals. -
Sorry, wasn't sure if the little I had was enough to warrant a label. Thought it had to be a little more indepth. I tend to like having sections, so one plot thing to the next, this being BD to rest chase. Would you advise against this or is it fine? It is. I'll describe that more. I was planning on adding an escape attempt after some of the first critiques. Assumed everyone would see there's no point. Also, to your point on me responding to people... I feel uncomfortable with not saying anything, like that weird silence in the room. Even if it's to say I agree, It feels better.

hopefully fun Coup (the game)
Aspiring Writer replied to Chasmgoat's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
What card are you even going to pick? Captain is useless because we're both immune, ambassador is also useless, contessa is unneeded because none of us have an assassin, so they only useful cards are duke (if there are any left) and assassin. -
That line is an absolute, so you're wrong. I get what you're saying tho, especially with theories where your taking evidence to make a conclusion when that evidence can easily go another way.

If you held Szeth's oathstone, what would you do?
Aspiring Writer replied to NameIess's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Not like that. Szeth might not want to be free. he feels he's honorbound to be ruthless. he might get a new stone or stop you from breaking the stone or still consider the stone viable even after it's broken. -
This is making me think of what people are going to write in the Cosmere once it's in the public domain. It might be a wonderous time or a horror show.

Szeth might stop you. The oathstone is supposed to be a punishment he can't get out of until he dies. -
The point of Public domains is for people to take a story further and with new iterations, like King Arthur. I don't think anyone will think it's in poor taste to take a character in his books and expand on them.

Wow. Didn't expect that either. however, i feel this is the best time to get rid of all the pretense. As duke, I will tax. Yep. Got that from the ambassoder. Suck it. Cards-2 Coins-3 -
Electricity (To kill people)

Your body is also very conductive, being mostly water. If your touching a charged piece of metal, you will get shocked. -
Well, nobody is really posting on this forum, so I'm going t try and revive this. Another business, or well, it more a tool for businesses but have coppermind as 'free samples' so someone can taste it through the memory and then decide they liked it. Another idea is that restaurants have tin minds to increase sense and taste so food tastes better, maybe as an additional purchase or a free perk at somewhere high class.

Well, I do know in cooking there are plenty of times where you might need to touch the knife. I'm not a professional, but I do a tiny bit and have seen my mom cook, and there are times they push down on the knife, so Ir would come into contact with it a little. However, Sarah is 100% right, and I'm going to be blunt because this is in my arena and I am getting hyper. Your society has a decent number of people with an iron allergy, and from what I can tell, you don't do much with societal changes with the metal. You made silver illegal, but iron would be flushed out if it is such bothersome material for so many people. They would look for metal alternatives for iron (Excluding for weapons, where they would try and exclusively use iron.), or try and make sure you never have to touch the metal, either by putting something in between or using gloves. No society is going to keep using a volatile material the same way as we do. It won't disappear from society, the fact it hurts magic people guarantees that but its uses and commonality will certainly be affected, and people will make ways to avoid touching it as much as possible, and that's without getting to how price and demand for the metal might change considering it would be unwanted for certain products but pined for by others. and hi Rob, I awake late again. is it weird being on the Shard during these hours? It always feels so empty.

Wouldn't the person in the armor be electrocuted? The armor is touching them, and metal is very conductive. -

Pretty sure you can't set him free. You can probably tell him to live his life, but he'd then try and find a new master for 'honor'. -
The non-ookla club
Aspiring Writer replied to Aspiring Writer's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
Well, this isn't an anti-ookla club. I find everyone changing their names annoying for tagging and recognizing purposes, but it's fine. This is just for people who don't do it or can't not to feel left out.
