If they mis-hit one of them here, and they mis-hit one of them via their Jeskeri Inquisition, that's 2 of them down in the first cycle. I doubt they would want to take the risk. I have no clue how the team is distributed, but if they follow this approach, there's a good chance that they lose the majority in the doc soon and let the Cultists lead the votes.
-
Jeskeri are also using the lynch to find out Korathi Cultist? Only Cultists are trying to mislynch us? No, even the Practitioners would want to mislynch us hoping they'd hit the KC. I've said it time and again, the JP cannot afford to waste a public lynch on themselves as they cannot win without killing the KC. Since the public lynch is the only way they can kill KC, they will use it at every opportunity to hit the KC.
-
I thought I had clarified that that is not what I meant in my reply to Mint? In this post: So I thought the remainder of your points here below are why you suspected me: . Yeah, I was thinking of (1) as well and how that would be a very good scenario for us. I have only one vote on me Mint. Straw changed to Matrim. Strikethrough and bold mine. And yeah, I got the feeling that Ashbringer is trying to throw shade on me as well, buffing up suspicion with "Too many convenient things he has forgotten".
-
For one thing, because the JP's can still vote in here, and possibly strike two birds with one cycle. I'll probably change this by the end of the cycle, but for now TJ Shade seems to be forgetting too many convenient things for my liking. Bold mine. They cannot kill us at their will! They do not control the lynch. But the context in which it was spoken is - Straw argued that it's not unbelievable that a villager can forget (or not notice) their own loss condition, while simultaneously suspecting me as a JP because I noticed the losscon and told non-Korathi might not notice them hence spoke falsely (i.e. Drake). Is a village not noticing a higher possibility than non-villager assuming the losscon and speaking false? My argument was no. "Seems to be forgetting too many convenient things"? Plural? Please state more.
-
Yeah xD I meant JP's wincon is to kill all Cultists, which does not pertain to us. Our losscon is complete elimination of our team, which is not JP's aim. Why will they be bothered with our losscon when they cannot contribute towards it (i.e. they cannot kill us at their will)?
-
Yeah, obviously even I wasn't told of loss condition in my PM. But...do you guys not read rules? Nowhere is it mentioned that loss of majority for us leads to our loss. Why that presumption? It's clearly given JC has to kill everyone, so obviously, we can still win after we lost majority. How is me being clear about how are can avoid loss be a JP indication? Also, the JP's wincon does not align with our losscon. Why would a JP be focusing on the loss condition of village? This doesn't make sense. You...you doubted me for telling the same thing! Now you agree with me? And Pyro asked me if I was a Cultist, and I just replied negatively. That was the end of our interaction. If he did claim a Cultist, then presumably the Jeskeri Inquisition should take care of him. We should not do JP's job for them. Even if he is a true JP, other JPs might find him suspicious for claiming Cultist and vote for him anyway in their doc. And this game indeed is making my brain hurt xD
-
Thanks! I hope you can prove me wrong as it is Cycle 1 and there's not much to go on. I just found the difference the confidence level between MR43 and this game to be staggering, and think that you're doing it deliberately. And we have a 6-player tie: Kasimir (1) - Kasimir (????) TJ (1) - Straw Elkanah (1) - Drake Straw (1) - Sart Ashbringer (1) - Elkanah Lotus (1) - TJ C'mon people, vote!
-
Alright, I've read through everything and here are my thoughts. Mild Non-JP leans on Mint, Devotary, Ashbringer, and Matrim. Agree with Matrim (and Ashbringer?) that the Sart bit was odd. If his intention was to make possible JP to oppose the no-lynch scenario, then why didn't he raise suspicion on people opposing the no-lynch idea? @Sart I also disagree with everyone telling the JP will try to lynch their own teammates in an attempt to mislynch Cultists. The only way for the JP to win is to kill the Korathi Cultist, and until at least one of the is dead, they will try to mislynch villagers hoping they hit the KC. My suspicions: It should sort of obvious by looking at Sart's content count that he's not a new player. I had already asked this in the sign-ups. In fact, Elbereth's clarification post was just 1 post above yours. I highly doubt you would've missed it. I think you're playing the new player card. Asking questions to seem naive, and playing up your inexperience. You were a lot more confident in MR43. Lotus A Korathi would definitely know their loss condition. We do not lose if we lost the majority. We lose only if we are completely eliminated. Suspicious that you do not know that. @Elkanah, I disagree with most of your JP reads. Not because of my non-JP reads on them, rather because I do not agree with the reasons for your reads. Almost all your JP reads seem to be based on the reasoning that they are focusing on Cultists. I'd argue that most of the discussion around Cultists (especially those from Matrim and Ashbringer) came as a response to vote in opposition to Sart's no-lynch plan. You could say that they could be JP because they would want a public lynch as well, but the way they opposed it after the warning from Sart makes me think they're not JP. Also, I don't believe a JP would blatantly focus and go after the Cultists in-thread. As I told earlier, the public vote in the only way they can lynch the Korathi Cultists, and I think they'd rather focus their attention there. Also, could you clarify what "He is not. This suggestion feels very Sart" means? xD Row 29; Column K-P in your spreadsheet. I'd give Elkanah a moderate Korathi read for the spreadsheet analysis. Feels very genuine. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Groooaaann. Great. Someone or a lot of someones had found out about Dedan's diary and decided to grace the pyramid with their presence. I had hoped to finish searching this place for anything valuable before religious fools hoarded this place, but ehhh, wishful thinking. Pfft, a temple of Domi? Laughable. Dedan is a blind follower. You can almost say... he Dedan't know what he was doing, hah! Of course no one knew when they were swearing "Merciful Domi!" that they were praying to a god long dead. I mean, being cosmere aware, it's kind of obvious that Domi is short for Dominion, but you can't expect these people to know them. And of course, with Dominion's character, you'd want to beg for his mercy. You couldn't actually pray "Merciful Devo!", could you? That sounds lame. And it doesn't make sense because because Devotion is tender and kind. Surely she'd give your her mercy without asking for it. So what I'm thinking is... Devotion's followers became Korathi, and Dominion's followers became Derethi. Why is everyone swearing in Dominion's name? Nights if I know. And those weird, creepy Jeskeri - they're probably followers of Rayse. I don't know. Why am I even bothering with this? Oh right, because the pyramid is forging filled with them! Gah! Wouldn't let me finish my search in peace. Oh, well. It's time to socialize. My ma named me Aanalan (another couple of a's in the end and I'd be hated for blasphemy is Roshar, heh!). It's funny because she named me after the Aons Aan meaning Truth (which I'm absolutely not) and Ala meaning Handsome (which I.. won't deny if someone calls me, buuut it's debatable). Yeah, she definitely jinxed my life. Thanks ma! And what do I do? Why, I search the corners of Sel (yeah I haven't managed to get out of this place) for the deepest secrets of the cosme (and when I fail in that like I usually do, I'll at least have something valuable to sell). Please don't call me a treasure hunter, it sounds soooo boring. I call myself...Cosmerologist. Ehh, I keep working on the name. I'll get it right some day. Sigh. I think that's it. Now I have to mingle with these people and pretend to be a believer. Sigh indeed.

Don't have access to laptop and haven't read through stuff so I'll just reply to Mint. I'd rather not lynch a Cultist at all. Sorry if my original message seems to indicate that. What I meant was we shouldn't be scared to vote just because we might hit a Cultist. I'd rather not make a deliberate attempt to lynch a Cultist. But if we did, I'd rather lynch the one with access to Jeskeri doc. The Korathi Cultist(s) is/are a huge asset to us IF they claim to us. Even if they don't claim to us, they are the one thing that would stop the JP from achieving their win-con. As long as we manage to keep our lynch off the Korathi Cultist, it should be impossible for the JP to win. Sure, JP could fake-claim as Korathi Cultist, but we'll get to that if someone claims to be one.
-
Right. Expect me to be a little less active than my usual level in C1 and part of C2 because of IRL stuff. First thoughts. Of course our first priority is to lynch a Practitioner, but mislynching a Cultist is NOT bad. They're looking to kill us after all, and they'll prioritise killing us over killing the Practitioners because a. we're larger in number and we win if they kill too many Practitioners and b. they have an in-doc lynch to try and kill Practitioners. So lynching a Cultist is not bad just as long as we don't lynch too many of them too often.

They are quite different, don't worry. Maybe you can tell my character what happened to the plants after the catastrophe

Sign me up as Kondrea, a biologist in the broad sense of the word, here on Ashyn to determine the cause of the catastrophe and it's impact on the Ashyn ecosystem. Might as well study the people exhibiting weird side-effects of getting infected.

A badly written and thought out SA x Magnus Chase fanfiction
|TJ| replied to Illwei's topic in Sanderson Fan Works
That's straight-up baiting! Where's Nightblood? xD Just kidding (though I did start reading expecting Nightblood-Jack interaction) That was fun! Thoroughly entertaining and hilarious at times. xD Nice to meet a fellow proud Uncle Rick fan! -

Good game elims! @Araris Valerian, I really didn't mean it when I told that we're losing the game due to the lack of active village power roles, rather than the work of the elims. It was sort of an attempt to bait the elims to rile up. You did reply to that, but in a villager-y way, so I was left more confused than before xD. Hope you or the elim team didn't take offense for that. You deserve this victory and the ease at which it was achieved. Also, if you didn't know, I did role-block you the cycle I died. If only it wasn't grav-assisted... I actually thought of blocking you the previous cycle (when you killed Elbereth), but I thought we had all decided to lynch you anyway so I changed my target to Pyro. I think my major problem in this game was my confidence took a bad hit after mislynching Ventyl. I had 0 interest in lynching Gears (Sorry @Gears). I was majorly convinced he was village. I would have definitely pushed for Araris lynch that cycle if I was more confident. Similarly, the cycle Lahilt was lynched, I should have pushed harder for the Magestar lynch instead of just "It seems no one wants to lynch Mage this turn". @Illwei, great first game! I hope to see you in many more! @Ventyl, if it's any consolation, while everyone underestimated you, telling that your actions as an elim would be too tough or too smart to pull off, I actually thought you were capable of doing it. Sorry for tunneling on you, and I'll be more careful in the future. @Ashbringer, @Gears I had a lot of fun building up insane and crazy games and filling up the dead doc. I'd gladly die early with you guys again xD. @Elbereth, see, I'm village. @Devotary of Spontaneity, glad you survived. I guess it's sort of a consolation for me. xD Edit: @Straw, thanks for running this game! I enjoyed it, despite being under pressure of the entire time I was alive.
-
That's alright! Not a problem. @Elbereth, can the Jeskeri vote to kill a Korathi through their Inquisition? If not, I'm not sure how they can eliminate the Korathi Cultists other than the public Inquisition.
-
Signing up as Aanalan! @DramaQueen, here are the sign-ups for the next game!
-
Nothing is going right for us in this game. Even the Striker lynch only seems to create confusion among us and painted a target on my back. Guess we'll see who the elim kill is and move on from there. The thing is, it's not the elims that are actually defeating us this game, it's the inactivity of the village, specifically the village power roles. Imagine we had an active Dustbringer or an Elsecaller, it would be so helpful. And the possible lack of Squiring is hurting us as well.
-
It seems a lynch on Lahilt is materializing, and no one wants to lynch Magestar this cycle.
-
Yes, Mat. I wrote that up after reading the aftermath. Will isolate Lahilt's posts clearly to find if there are more similarities. In the meanwhile, do you guys find Lahilt's flipping weird?
-
Loqlaw Mora vowed never to accept immediate requests or attend fancy parties as he fled Breezing Manor with a red herring in his hand, which he had been using as a protection item xD I knew something was wrong with Lahilt claiming he had a protect item too. But I didn't mention my suspicion, because I hoped to ascertain his teammates by coaxing him to reveal them as his protect target. That's why I specifically asked whom he was going to target last cycle. Knew something wrong when Burnt praised Lahilt for being "brave" for reveal his protection item, while seemingly ignoring my claim (me offend ) Mist was smart enough to figure out something wrong with Drake's scan claim. I totally ignored the possibility of kill items and just assumed the only reason Drake would do what he did was if there were 5 elims, and I didn't think so. Huh, Orlok actually killed Windrunner? Disappointed in you Orlok. And I've gone through spec doc, and I seem to have doomed the village without protecting Mist. Welp, sorry guys! Buuut, me thief. I'm supposed to be selfish, and I guess it's some consolation that I escaped out alive Thanks Kas! The game was very intriguing and fun to play. I loved your write-ups, and all in all, it was very entertaining to be a part of it. Congrats to the elims!

Bahh, you're gonna make me defend myself again, aren't you? How does that read elim? An elim would actually firmly just stick with their option to mislynch a village. It's normal for a villager to change their opinion as things develop. I'd say it's even healthier for a villager to change their opinion based on the changing conditions rather than just tunnel like you apparently are. I never trusted Ventyl. I have made one post which was based on his first post, and then after he pseudo-claimed, I felt we should be rather wary of him. I pushed for a lynch on him in the very same cycle as he became more and more suspicious. I never stated any suspicion on Gears as well. I only followed Matrim's suspicion because my reads have been wrong the entire game, and I thought I would be wrong in presuming Gears' innocence as well. And I'd like to note the important word relatively village, as in when compared to Araris and Lahilt, which was based on our interaction last cycle, which felt relatively good to me, which obviously changed as soon as you pushed for me, and the way you're pushing. Annnd, I was actually waiting for the MR 43 results in the meanwhile to see if Lahilt will flip elim. His behaviour there was very similar to the one here. Basically hedging " X could be village, but I could also see them as elim" like Mint said. Will wait for a while to see if someone is willing to lynch Mage. If not, I'll shift to Lahilt later.
-
Alright, I've tried to overlook your suspicion on me as that of a tunneling villager, but this has gone on long enough even for that. It seems like you're genuinely frustrated that you're saving me for a mislynch and no one seems to be acting on it. The very lack of hesitancy to lynch a village KR, after we've lynched 2 village KR speaks volumes of your intentions. You seem to be hiding behind the "I was just tunneling" excuse when I flip village. You're literally making a case for me here. What you said above is the easiest way me and Striker both could have escaped the lynch if we were elims. Living for one more cycle with reasonable suspicion if better than dying in D1, I'd imagine. No one would have just resigned - "Oh, I'm gonna get suspicion if I do this anyway. Let me just die." How would a bus make sense, man? Bus has to be one way, right? All elims vote for one elim to gain the trust of the village? How would that make sense, me and Striker voted on each other. I was on the lead 5-3 for a majority of the cycle. If there was a decision to bus, the elims would not have even allowed votes on me to gather. They would vote on Striker when it was 2-2-2-2 to give him a lead and lynch him. Everyone else who voted on Striker has turned up village, except Matrim. What, are you accusing him of bussing too? There are hundreds of reasons I can bring up like this for my innocence, and I have brought them up earlier in the game as well, especially the way the D1 lynch went which makes it highly improbable that I'm an elim. Your sheer reluctance to understand them, and your willingness to just brush them off is not a characteristic a villager would exhibit. Yes, because you do not want to see them, mostly deliberately. Your reasoning is basically "Striker lynch was weird. You're weird." and that's it. Magestar, there's only so much I can be pushed around and feel the need to defend myself before I begin to feel suspicious of my accuser, and I began to feel suspicious of your accusations 3 cycles earlier. Pretty sure no one else will join me in this, and I definitely feel like I've survived longer than I expected after being forced to role-claim and expend my charges in the very first turn. If this doesn't pan out, I bid adieu and wish you all the best. You have 2 cycles of mislynches after I die, and make sure you use those cycles expeditiously. Beware of (Magestar + Araris) team. Might not post again this cycle unless I have to vote in self-preservation, as I feel any response to Magestar will be practically useless, and I'm just tired of defending myself. Edit: Ninja'd by Mat. What did you post!? Edit 2: Well, I feel Mage is more suspicious than Lahilt after this latest accusation. I'm keping my vote on him and move if I have to, to save myself.
-
Yes, it's been discussed and debunked (I hope). Me and Striker would have voted for Ventyl together and saved ourselves if we both were elims. He chose to vote for me. He wouldn't do that if there was an effort to save me over him. You were on-board with this. You wanted to kill Ventyl, then did not vote for him at all in D2. Everyone alive is involved in lynching all villagers. Let me remind you that me and Matrim are the only players alive to lynch an elim. What info could you possibly gain with me flipping village? And I guarantee you I will flip village. Right, so my suspects. Araris remains the only player alive to have voted on me. Either he's village which means I'm not exactly sure where in the storms are the D1 elim votes, or he's an elim. He never seemed to mention Striker in D1 except for the elim!Devotary -> elim! Striker bit. Though why go for Devotary when Striker already had 2 votes on him? He mentions "If I have to go for TJ or Gears, I'd rather go for TJ to solidify his vote as I roughly trust/distrust them." No talk of Striker. He later votes for me at a crucial time changing 4-3 to 5-3 in favor of lynching me. There are some things that work for Araris, like him clearing Elbereth, which would end up with him being the only other to have voted for me. Firmly defended me and Ventyl, and I don't know why an elim would try to defend 2 village KRs. Lahilt was strongly for lynching Ventyl in D1. But did not back it up with a vote in D2. He also has been semi-active and might have decided to elim kill Ashbringer as he might not have seen suspicion him by me and Matrim. If we're lynching an inactive, I'd go for Orlok seeing as he focused only on Elbereth and Gears, and later voted for Ventyl. Highest suspicion among the inactives. Relatively village reads on Matrim, Mint, Ilwei, Magestar, Truthwatcher, Kynedath. Neutral: Pyro, Devotary Slightly suspicious of Silber as I think an elim is more likely to be motivated enough to go through 30+ pages to continue the game rather than a villager. I really hope you don't lynch me because we'd out of 3 village KRs. There's literal proof of someone else who has been active submitting elim kills as I used up both my actions in D1, and hence could not have submitted elim kill in D1. I Squired during N2, and hence could not have submitted the elim kill in D2 as well, though you'll have to take my word for it, or the word of the Squire, who may or may not be active, which I will not confirm. I don't know whom to vote for this cycle between Lahilt and Araris, but I hope a discussion can ensue and I can vote because of my suspicion and not out of self-preservation.
-
Well, if there are 5 elims, then we're at lylo, and if Drake is an elim he has nothing to lose by misleading us. Buuut, I think 5 is a lot for 18 players, so I'll trust Drake for now and vote for Xino. If Drake is right, that PoE sorta worked, huh. @Lahilt, who are you protecting this cycle? I'm asking so that we don't double protect someone. I'm staying in the Garden.
