Several months had passed. Calano remained home, watching over his girls, being a family man. Being the children of gods, Katharine and Evelyn grew up quickly. A mortal infant would look it’s age, but at 4 months, Kat and Ev looked nearly two years old. Calano couldn’t be prouder. Kat was getting stronger by the day. Her physical strength was immense, and she also had incredible mental acuity, as well as incredible people skills. Evelyn had started showing traits of telekinesis and healing abilities. In tandem with that, she displayed attributes of incredible emotional awareness, empathy, and sympathy. A beautiful combination. Calano spent most of his days entertaining his hobbies, and bonding with his daughters. Evelyn loved nap time more than Katharine did, and Katharine absolutely ADORED snack time; Evelyn was impartial to snack time. Emma thought that her husband was a complete and total dork: sometimes she swore he was more a child than their own children. More than once, she’d walked in on Calano strutting his stuff through the hallway, wearing a beautiful shimmering ivory suit as his daughters giggled and cheered. ”Cheer for me, my adorable minions,” He said, scooping his giggling daughters into his arms, “I am your beautiful and stunning ruler.” He never blushed when Emma would see this, he would only laugh harder, and drag Emma into the fun. ”Ah,” He would say, pointing at her, “Who is that, my pretties?” ”Mama!” The girls would shout. ”That’s right,” He would say, dragging her into his arms as well, “My beautiful wife and your beautiful mama.” Emma would laugh as well. For she was happy. And Calano was happy. But sometimes, he wasn’t. This family had been through so much. Calano still had nightmares of Kaos, and when he awoke in a cold sweat, he would calm himself by going into the twins’ room and reassuring himself, occasionally stroking the rosy cheeks of one of his girls. Emma would find him there most mornings, and guide him back to bed. She’d whisper reassuring words, letting her husband know that she was not going to leave him ever again, all that was over, they were safe now, the girls were safe, and he could rest. Calano was loved. Calano was safe. And Calano would do anything to keep it that way.

A single crow flew down, perching on the head of Nameless. The crow, of course, didn’t know that the head it had just perched on was attached to a body which together had the name of Nameless. It was, after all, just a crow. A simple blackbird. Cousin to the raven and grackle, and a further relative of the bluejay. The crow, who decided then that it’s name would be Crow, decided to caw. Loudly. For precisely 3.875 seconds. Directly into Nameless’ ear. The crow didn’t and couldn’t know this, but the decibel level was somewhere near 188 decibels. To the crow, that was simply, “big sound.” The crow tilted it’s head at everyone else, squawked softly, then fluttered off, vanishing into the overcast sky above. The crow would forget the encounter within a couple days. And, because it was a crow, the crow would never understand the profound butterfly effect that its single loud caw would have on the group. But, in TLT, a crows caw took on new meaning: Doom. Death. Destruction. Fear. -

Scene #133: Girl In The Stars This was a pinterest pin I saw that just shot through me with inspiration. It's been added to the loooooong list of future full novel ideas lol.

okay so
big essay in math. about a topic of our choosing. solving a problem based on that topic. using any method available to us from any unit of the past year or two.
my chosen topic: the probability of being born with at least one BEU (Breath Equivalent Unit) in the Cosmere.
math used: probability math, statistical math.
data needed:
- population data (can be canon or inferred) of planets, and/or major population centers on said planets within the Cosmere. For best results, the maps at the beginning of the books. (Roshar world map, Elendel basin and outer roughs, Old Scadrial world map, etc.)
- details on the magic systems of those planets and how said magic systems manipulate a human beings inert Investiture in their soul from conception to give them at least one BEU at birth.
- Slightly organized timeline of events within the cosmere (does not have to be accurate or even really needed honestly i think it’d just be kinda helpful)
this… is going to be very very fun.
and if anyone has contributions to the data i need, i will gladly gladly gladly accept it. not needed tho, just wanted to info dump ab the things im doin :3

Back for an album update!!!
I've spent a collective several hours this week recording and singing and producing and mixing and getting advice and tweaking and finally, after a several month long process,
loverboy Lessons is a complete album. as of 1:44 PM local time today, it has been submitted to the review process for publication. I'm so excited to share this with you all, and I cannot wait for it to release.
January 19th, 2024. Midnight EST, 11 PM CST, 10 PM MST, 9 PM MST. Look online for other time conversions.
I'm so damn excited

Hi everyone.
Calano here.
With some news.
A little while back, I made a post saying I'd be still here, but taking a break. Become something of a lurker.
Well, I've decided to just take a break entirely. It's not been so great for me mentally, to have the Shard hanging in the back of my mind.
I'll update y'all on big important things in my life, because I like telling people those things, but for the most part I'll be unreachable unless you have my phone number.
If you want my phone number, ask someone who has it to PM it to you: I'll gladly accept texts from Sharders, but I'm not comfortable just putting my phone number out there.
Y'all are some of the greatest online (and IRL) people I know. This community is safe, and accepting, and warm, and homely, and wonderful.
But I have a life to live. So, I'll be going. I don't know if I'll return. I might not, not to a level of activity that I once had.
Y'all have been just... an incredible group of people. And I'm honored to call you my family. I've seen so many others leave; Haly, Misting was gone for a while, Fadran left unexpectedly, Kajsa kinda went dark too, but I can text her sometimes lol
But people have been slowly leaving.
And I think that now it's my turn.
Like I said above, I'll come back occasionally for big updates, regarding college, my mission, big life milestones, good and bad news, etc. But for the most part, I'm honorably discharging myself from active duty on this site (so to speak).
loverboy Lessons is still coming out January 19th, 2024. I plan to make the entire album the week of December 18th, and get it going through the distribution process starting that weekend (23rd/24th).
It's been a pleasure. It really has. I love you all so much.
