I don't really like the way this is worded, but I'm aware of what you mean by saying this so I'm ignoring my gut reaction. Len Do we think it's worth it to try to glean anything from the kill choice, or is it to IKYK and too short a cycle for any conclusion to matter a whole lot?

I never said it was a strong read. Am I not allowed to get vibes? It might be early but it's almost the end of C1, we can't wait until tomorrow to get reads :P. Clearly Kas is my teammate since he read it as village too. Dare I ask for a VC?

Huh, I had missed Ash's vote. The ninjas are insane xD There's at least 3 new replies but by the time I read them I won't have to double so that's fine Thoughts on CCing this game, and whether there's a difference from a normal game? On one hand, inactivity for one cycle has a greater chance of inactivity for other cycles, but the game will also be over tonight so idk ...I need to reread the rules xD definitely thought it was for this turn

I mean, I’d be surprised if Verdant was the only aether with a reaction to water, but even if it is I imagine the other aethers are dangerous in their own way. It’s also possible that Tress doesn’t know the properties of the sea the butterfly was over, since she literally lives on a rock, in which case she would be assuming the other sea has the same properties as Verdant (or at the very least that the other sea is dangerous). I’m not sure how much she knows about the other seas. Ah, that does make more sense. Thanks.

We don't know for certain that all 12 aethers have a reaction to water in the same way Verdant does. Trees easily could be native to other oceans and islands, and is transported to the places where it isn't. I imagine that Mem used water while trying to remove the aether from Mraize's clothes, and it didn't do anything there. I'm aware the situations are far from the same but the stain was pink and not grey.

I don't think there are necessarily elephant seals in the world- unless I missed something, that was just a Hoid addition and not something that was said by the characters. Doesn't mean they couldn't be there though. The fish is kind of weird... I guess they could swim in the spores, but it also makes sense for there to be bodies of water elsewhere. It's possible that some of the other Aethers don't react to water in the same way that Verdant does though I don't know what that would mean for Aether continuity.

I don’t think Hoid’s origin would be released in this way- the entire point of these books is that they were lower on Brandon’s list and he happened to have two years where he could write them. Since he undoubtedly has a plan for Hoid’s origin, and it’s slated to come far later in the cosmere (sure, Dragonsteel is the Shattering, but Hoid’s origin goes hand in hand with that) I would be shocked if that were the case. I personally like the theory that it’s Demoux (probably botched that name, sorry) or Galladon.
