Thats not even real Sound. only you would hear it. its more like a Pulse through your soul and its not just Allomancy that makes pulses any magic system/planet with Kinetic Investiture would have them Kinetic investiture in general, gives off “Radiation” or “pulses” or something is how brandon describes it, that is capable of being detected by things like seekers Like how the sun gives off radiation that we can detect(heat and light) and radiation we cant detect(infrared) with our naked eye investiture does something similar, and can be detected by certain people or animals This is a pretty bad analogy. But its all i got

the Shards see into the Future in different ways and due to Intent, some are just naturally better at it. Preservation couldve been seeing something that Ruin was uncapable of Predicting? Questioner When Wax is talking to Harmony he mentions 'the radio' and other things. Are there already societies that have things like that and how is he getting that information. Is it like a Spiritual Realm.. Brandon Sanderson He knows things from his Ascension. He gain an innate knowledge of the universe in interesting ways. In addition, Preservation had some minor innate progno... he could see the future a little bit, and so could Ruin in a little different way. Let's just say that there are a bunch of things mixing together that give Harmony some knowledge that most people wouldn't have. Questioner But will we see some of societies soon or is that further in the future? Brandon Sanderson *RAFOes* You'll find out. Shadows of Self Portland signing (Oct. 10, 2015)

Can a fabrial fix dead Shardblades?
Eternal Khol replied to ZenBossanova's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think it would require Dalinar. the parts of the Spren’s soul that were ripped out, were presumably still in the Humans soul(thats why brandon said it would be Really hard to revive a dead spren without its original Radiant) and unless some of those radiants became immortal, theyll be long dead by now. but an imprint of a Spiriweb can remain in the Spiritual Realm long after death. so maybe Dalinar or someone who has the power to mess with Connection and Spiritwebs(not many other people) -
Im pretty sure ive seen a WoB, that i cant seem to find now, that says its just a coincidence.

Burning Temporal metals in the Spiritual Realm
Eternal Khol replied to Dancer's question in Cosmere Q&A
entering the Spiritual Realm is different than something like enter the Cognitive from the Physical. when enter the Cognitive Realm physically, your body is turning into investiture and then popping out of Investiture in the Cognitive Realm, or vice versa. but the Spiritual Realm isnt a defined place. Its everywhere and every time, happening all at once. not even the Shards are fully in the Spiritual Realm, just most of them. I think to fully enter the Spiritual realm, would be to get rid of your physical self, which is needed for allomancy theres very few things that exist only in the spiritual realm But if entered partway like Elend did, i think it would still just affect the Physical Realm where time has meaning -

Thanks I knew there was a WoB like that, before I posted. I can Just never find the right ones when I need them -
I feel like that would work. but we dont know if the air just has to be in the body or if it has to be being carried by Haemoglobin. if it is the latter, for years scientists real-world have been working on an implant to deliver oxygen into the blood and get it to the red blood cells before making bubbles(which is bad) They designed it for medical use for people who cant breath(think during lung transplants, etc...) now imagine something like that on scadrial, but imagine it were used on a health person who can already breath. theyd have their own oxygen source(lungs) plus the oxygen coming from the implant to store in their metalmind Just some random thoughts XD

Vasher is a Returned who doesnt have a spren he can worldhop anytime/anywhere. returned, to my knowledge, aren’t like other Cognitive Shadows. with someone like Kelsier, he cant worldhop because, his body in the Cognitive Realm is made of Investiture that is tied to Scadrial. that investiture is tied to scadrial, and Kelsier is that investiture. with a returned, they’ve had their soul messed with and a Divine Breath attached. But that investiture isnt in the Cognitive or Physical realm. So they can go wherever(as long as they have investiture to feed off of) -
He wasnt even close to Sel lol he was still in the same solar system Questioner So like as far as distance traveled in Shadesmar. So when Kelsier is in Shadesmar, he meets the Ire, who are presumably Elantrians. How far did he travel? Is that still within Scadrial's realm of the Cognitive Realm? Brandon Sanderson Yeah, that's within-- By the time he meets them he has slipped right to the edge of the Cognitive Realm on Scadrial and into, kind of, the darkness between planets. Questioner Okay. Brandon Sanderson He's close enough that he can get there. But he's kind of suffused with Scadrian Investiture then, to a point that it would be harder--you saw in there--for him to get further. I would say that he's like... He has entered space between planets, but he's not out of the solar system. Questioner Okay, so he's still in the Scadrian system, just not--just edging a bit there. Brandon Sanderson Yeah, yep. That's what I'd say if I had to actually point him in that <a map>. It gets really fuzzy though, because it wouldn't be too much longer before he enters another solar system. Like, he would pass lightyears in steps as he starts getting further, if that makes any sense. Questioner That makes sense, because, I mean, with worldhopping in general it's like... You can only... I mean it's... I don't know how the time dilation works per se, but... Brandon Sanderson It's not-- there's not much time dilation. What you've got going on is... Things that people aren't around to think about, things without minds or any sort of life, don't manifest on Shadesmar very much at all. And so the space between planets gets really small, unless there's another planet out there with thinking beings or at least some sort of life on it. Like even lower lifeforms, you'll get something manifesting on Shadesmar. But yeah Questioner Okay. So the Cognitive Realm, in Shadesmar... It's kind of the... Any kind of sentient or cognitive life-- that's what is building Shadesmar? So like anything where there's blackness... is like... condensed or-- Brandon Sanderson Yes, yes. Particularly if no one's thinking about it. If people are thinking about it - like, for instance, an island in the ocean that was scoured of all life and even bacteria would still manifest in Shadesmar on that planet because people are aware of it and things like this. But one on the other side of the planet, that no one ever knew about it, probably wouldn't. Questioner So that same island, if people just stopped thinking about it or like stopped being aware of its presence, would it... Brandon Sanderson It could slowly vanish, yes. And so-- But that's more of a thought experiment. You're never gonna have a planet that that happens to, you know cause-- but thought experiment wise, yes, that would eventually kind of get consumed by Shadesmar and vanish. The same thing would happen to a planet that you strip the atmosphere from--all the bacteria and life dies on it--you know, slowly going to vanish. But a moon will still manifest because people are thinking about it. It'll just not-- it won't-- it'll be hokey, it'll be weird--the moon will be. Like you might find a little patch that represents the moon. Something like that. Questioner That's interesting. Brandon Sanderson You're not gonna find the full landscape of the moon until people start visiting it. And it's gonna grow on Shadesmar. White Sand vol.1 release party (June 28, 2016)

Thats almost exactly what i said, you just tossed in some electrical talk and i dont think zinc and brass would produce an effect by themselves.(well, it would effect the spren in the gem but not make any physical effect) navani says “A pewter cage will cause the spren of your fabrial to express its attribute in force—a flamespren, for example, will create heat.” indicating that the pewter is needed to create the heat. And the “express its attribute in force” part is key. in other words shes saying “a pewter cage will cause the flamespren to create heat” before that there was no heat being created. if you just used zinc or brass, youd just have a stronger or weaker manifested trapped spren. the “cage” is just all of the metals attached to the gemstone. Attach a piece of zinc and you have a stronger manifested spren. attach a piece of Pewter and you have heat. attach both, and you have boosted heat
-
Exactly. zinc and brass allow you to define a range of power. Pewter and Tin allow you to select a point within that range
-
I bet there is some kind of strain. I feel like it even be possible to “shatter” a Spren like that If they’re manifesting too much and there is too much power going through them. Back on Fabrials: -zinc and brass allow you to define a range of power. -Pewter and Tin allow you to select a point within that range This is just theoretical, but the Science is sound. in the context of a heat fabrial say a Flamespren is manifested normally with zinc and brass(its possible heat range, when in use, could be from 150 degrees to 250 degrees) if the spren was any more manifested, it would be capable of outputting more heat(Say 250 degrees to 350) or if manifested less, the heat range would be lower(Say 50 degress to 150) then using Pewter or Tin(we dont have proof yet, but im using Tin as the opposite of Pewter in Fabrial Science) you can actually create the heat and change the temp within the possible range. so if the spren is manifested normally using zinc and brass, like in my example above, using Pewter and Tin, you would be able to alter the temp of the heat to between 150-250 degrees(or whatever range, depending of the expression of the spren)
-
I think it more probable that if you use zinc the flamespren itself gets bigger. I imagine a zinc enhanced heating fabrial is more powerful yet less efficient then a regular one. My thoughts exactly. The way i see it is, in the context of a Heat Fabrial say the spren is manifested 25% using Zinc (not at all sure if thats how it works, but lets say it does) and then its attribute is expressed at 50% using Pewter. that Heatrial, will theoretically only be outputting 12% of its total possible strength.(the spren is only manifested a quarter of the way, and its only running at half power. So half of 25% is 12.5%) but if you manifested the Spren as fully as you can using zinc and expressed its attribute as much as possible using Pewter, then you should be getting 100% output out of that heatrial(assuming everything runs efficiently and there are no other modifiers to enhance the strength of the output)

So if it’s similar to hemalurgy, i think that the gemstone stole his connection to the Oathpact. it also seems to be made of Odiums god metal and Odium himself seems to be a Void in many ways(he got the nickname “The void” somehow) maybe because of that he can do things similar like Hemalurgy(Sucking in parts of the soul) but storing it in a gemstone(because the soul is made of investiture, it should be able to be stored in a Gemstone, right?) I think Jezrien is permanently dead and now in the Beyond, but someone can now probably take his place. the question is, will one of Odiums people do it?

The singers had never been to Ashyn. ... how would they know? also the “surges” part. When Honor made the Honorblades, he didnt just create the surges from nothing. they already kind of existed(im guessing in the disease based magic, like ive said) The surges used to destroy Ashyn are, by my best guess, proto forms of the surges provides by spren on Roshar, and when the humans explained what happened or when the singers learned about it, they labeled it as “of surges and spren” because thats all they know
-
The thing is, the Eila Stele was written by singers thousands of years ago. I believe its the disease based magic system. in a WoB, Brandon says that the same cataclysm that forces people to Roshar, is the same one that forced people into the sky’s on Ashyn. if the people on Ashyn used the disease based magic system to take to the sky’s, that means it had to of been present before the cataclysm.(otherwise how would the people already be knowledgeable enough to build floating citites)

What were your reactions to the biggest Sanderson Reveals?
Eternal Khol replied to dannnex's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It wasnt supposed to be a huge spoiler. In the annotations of Hero of Ages, Brandon confirms that Kel was getting around and doing things. Plus in the epilogue, there’s Harmony’s comment about Kel requesting that Spook be made Mistborn. I kinda had a similar experience. I read most of the Cosmere books without actually knowing about the Cosmere. Then i found this site and went and looked up everything, on the Coppermind and was just like “oh, this guy is from the White sand world.” “Oh, so ruin and pres were shards... Wow” I hadn’t even read Era 2 yet and had it all spoiled by questioning “who’s harmony?” -
Never said it was. .... but ok. Again. I dont think ruin would need to whisper any of that to Rashek, it would just come to him. I gurentee you that Preservation(Rashek) would understand his magics after ascension. He wouldnt just be sitting there like “AlLoManCy? aNd FeRuChemY? wHaTs ThAt?” then ruin comes along “heY, RaShEk. tRy To BuRn YoUr MeTaLMiNdS uSinG AllOmAnCy” There were so many people who figured out Compounding on their own, i don’t understand why you dont think god-like Rashek, capable of the same thing?
-
I dont think Ruin would need to do much of anything Rashek would gain an innate understanding of the metallic arts and how they function/interact upon ascending. Brandon Sanderson Chapter Forty-Four - Part One Subtlety with the Power The Lord Ruler created koloss, kandra, and Inquisitors during his time holding the power. This took some practice and experimentation, however. As has been explained, holding the power granted some intuitive understanding of how to use it. For instance, he knew how to make Hemalurgic creatures—but he wasn't practiced enough with the specifics at first to know exactly what he wanted to make or what the results of his experimentations would be. In a similar way, he knew that he could move a planet—and did. With practice, he could have figured out how to shove the planet the right way to place it correctly in orbit. Unfortunately, you can't really experiment with moving a planet around without causing a whole lot of damage. And so, he could do something as subtle as create three new races—and, with that practice in biology, redesign the world's plants and animals slightly—but could be so far off in the way he shoved the planet about the first time. The Hero of Ages Annotations (Dec. 4, 2009) similarly, he should also know the workings of Allomancy and Feruchemy, but should understand them better because they are more limited in what they do. I.E. A Atium = future sight F Atium = store age H Atium = steals any power(can be placed in hundreds of bind points and not knowing the results until you actually practice the art) = information overload if vin could figure out compounding, im sure an Ascended Rashek would know

Ive always thought he had to have been something akin to a spren or a seon

If allomancy's natural form is mistings, why do gnats exist
Eternal Khol replied to StarSplit's topic in Mistborn
Im aware of that. What im saying is that its not natural to selectively breed in the hopes of getting a mistborn. look at the definition: “existing in or caused by nature; not made or caused by humankind” ”caused by humankind” Im pretty sure a Mistborn created from Selective breeding was “caused by humankind” and thats not natural -
This WoB might Help He just need strong Mistborn who would find the WoA and free him. Vin was the chosen one but Kelsier played a key role in getting her there Zas678 (paraphrased) Is there some reason why both Vin and Kelsier are half-skaa, half-noble, both natural Allomancers, both end up overthrowing the Lord Ruler, and have siblings that are seekers. Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased) Both were heavily influenced by Ruin in doing what they were doing. So there is a connection there, maybe not the one you're looking for, but Ruin was looking for talented Mistborn that were easy to manipulate and talented Mistborn tend to come from talented Mistborn lines, and so Ruin is looking for that, and they both end up fitting that role. And the thing is, is that the half breeds ended up being easier for him to manipulate and easier lost in the shuffle of things, so they weren't paid attention to as much by the Ministry, because the Ministry didn't know about them. So it's mostly coincidental for what Ruin's trying to achieve Writing for Charity Conference (March 17, 2012)

If allomancy's natural form is mistings, why do gnats exist
Eternal Khol replied to StarSplit's topic in Mistborn
Im fairly certain it’s not natural if it requires humans selectively breeding, in the hopes of getting enough of the right sDNA to have Mistborn children
