I think you meant to spoil the second part instead of quoting it

Shades of Threnody too. Almost certainly

Adilie turned pale. When she had accidentally taken over that kandra she had freaked out before she could do anything and the other kandras who had explained her how it worked had only mentioned the command part, but obviously that power was as monstrous as she had originally feared. Had they 'forgotten' that part because they wanted her to stop freaking out about her power or because they didn't trust her?... Both, obviously. Adilie wouldn't have entrust that kind of power to anyone, not even herself. "Be careful, some would call that a fate worse than death. And I don't want what's worse for you." On these words she went to her room.

Things we still don't know about Rosharan magics
mathiau replied to Gilphon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
A slit throat don't kill you instantly, it makes you collapse instantly so it looks like you did but you did not. I've always interpreted the line from Wyndle as "you can't heal Shardblade wounds with Regrowth yet" Probably -

I can't believe I said "not at all", I meant "not really". Regrowth repair the body, which as Sazed proved is not enough to reattach the soul to the body, which is what that thing did. I guess it means high oath Regrowth can actually reattach souls. Also, I note Brandon said Regrowth fabrial and not Progression fabrial. Could be important. -
Adilie rolled her eyes and said in a low voice "First, your supposed to be my sister. Second my room was already reserved and it's a one person room. And third I know I don't need to constantly tap my connection with you, otherwise the soother+nicroburst technique wouldn't really work."

Things we still don't know about Rosharan magics

We don't even know the Windrunners' one for certain, yes they have Force of Squire but Kaladin seems to believe him having be far too quick in learning to use a spear comes from Syl and the Windrunners are known to master they're weapon more than other orders, more even than the Stoneward, the order known to be the most similar to it's Herald and whose Herald was the best duelist of the 10. We've got that Death Rattle They are aflame. They burn. They bring the darkness when they come, and so all you can see is that their skin is aflame. Burn, burn, burn... —Collected on Palahishev 1172, 21 seconds pre-death, by the Silent Gatherers. Subject was a baker's apprentice We actually don't even know of the Allomantic 16 all have an effect, nor if silver will have any effect. Also, I don't remember every metal Navani talked about so I'm not sure if you counted Aluminum in the 9 known, but we don't know it's effect (if any). Seperating two the parts of an inverser is a normal property of aluminium, not a magically added effect like it has in each of the metalic arts. Was it even comfirmed as a Regrowth Fabrial? Taht thing doesn't fit with what we know of regrowth at all. And the Diagram said each of them had some future sight power, still no news about that. I'm beting on Tension fused Some of them have power very similar to Surges and Voids, it's likely each give some power over one Surge/Void/Life. Honestly at this point I'm assuming the Void of Division makes Lightning and the Life of Division is decay. (If it was not clear I'm using Life and Voids as respectively Cultivation and Odium's version of each Surge) For Cultivation's power's name, Lifebinding? Renarin also made a perfected version of Adolin when he healed his wrist in Oathbringer. His light bubble things are too different from normal lightweaving to be the surge of Ilumination, it's either the Void or Life of Ilumination, probably the Void. Brandon stance on Fabrials being the third art depends change each time you ask. Sometime it's just "Fabrials are part of it" The Fused have Honour magic, their powers works exactly like the Surges. The Lightweaver descritpion from the official quizz does imply the knights saw themself as Honour-Cultivation hybrids. I disagree with them though, I see far more of Whimsy than Cultivation in the lightweavers. And while we know fusing two Shards don't alway have the same reasult it's unlikely there'd be ten different possibilities Bodiless cognitive shadows have been described by Brandon as "basicaly a spren", it seems to me that Fused are that while they slumber. It depends on how Enlightenment works. If it's purely additive then yes Glys is of all three but if it's partially transformative he could be pure Odium, C-O, H-O or all three. It has to be at least partially additive since it gives sapience to lesser sprens but we don't know if it's only that. -
Did the Pursuer seemed underpowered to any of you? Well, that's your answer. That'd probably be a use of Tension and not Cohesion.

Frost is a dragon so he's probably already essentially immortal

dawnshard Let's make groups of four, RoW edition
mathiau replied to mathiau's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I would argue that Cultivation is more about manipulating nature than about everything in nature, but it'd still be Create-Change anyway. I really don't understand your explanation. Autonomy is about being able to live without the guidance of other I don't see what creation and destruction have to do with that. Also there's a word for "creating new thing by destruction", Change. Devotion is essentially love, not sure whether that'd change a thing with what you're saying Valour is about courage, I really don't see what she'd have to do with Unity. Maybe Change would make more sense? If it's about dominating people by destroying ennemis, shouldn't it be Create-Destroy or Unite-Destroy? You can have many types of ambitions, ambition to create something, ambition to become something, ambition to obtain something. Destroy is far to limited compared to what Ambition is. -

mathiau replied to teknopathetic's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Then we should ask Brandon about Chana's eye colour, he probably won't RAFO that. My objective with these was not to disprove that Chana was her mother, it was to reduce the need for her to be The WoB just says Chana was seen in WoK or WoR, I find it unlikely she's Liss since she has a shardblade and Chana's honourblade should still be in Shinovar but these two can't be the only red haired women we've seen in these two books. -
[Theory] Taln Wasn't the Herald Who Broke; It Was Chanarach
mathiau replied to teknopathetic's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Shallan's mother's eyes are green (RoW 93) but one the official artwork for Chanarach her eyes are blue. He did not, Odium created a way to bypass the Oathpact with the Everstrom When expanding your secret society to a new country you got to start somewhere. And the Davar family being a Veden family of little note but still of some note make them perfect for helping smugling things. Pattern nearly stated why they wanted to give Shallan a second bound, they're interested in how humans make something new when they break, they're interested in Veil. As of why she had a spren many years before Jashna (but not that much before Kaladin, who have to had started bounding Syl before the scene where he take a quarter-staff for the first time) I have no idea. Note that the Davar estate would attract loads of cryptic with all the secret society stuff going on. For Heleran it's probably the normal procedure for skybreakers hopeful. The dark influence was probably not attacking just the Davar family but the whole region. We don't know how quick she was. Slow enough to get her lover in the house. Not sure for the "one of them" but Radiants did have a pretty bad reputation before Oathbringer. Radiant was not created to protect Shallan from her memory, that's Veil's job. Radiant's objective was to be what Shallan was not, a soldier. Her appearance is a mix of Jasnah and Chana because they are the two women Shallan associate the most with the concept of soldier. -

I assume you're consider Change-Unite and Unite-Change not to be the same thing? This idea does make sense, I suppose it'd mean Adonalsium was stretch in four parts by the Dawnshard and each par was then stretched in four again. Once again, how would God saying "change" create Preservation=stasis? Also wouldn't Ambition, Valour and Autonomy be more logical in the Drive quadrant? -

Weren't angersprens mostly a pool of boiling blood? -
The Radiant didn't seemed willing to drop her bubble, would have been too easy. The Pulser hold flames in his hands and was shining from what little stormlight he still had, he didn't seem to have a Shardblade so he probably was a Dustbringer, second order at most. This meant if NullBlade tried fighting him in close quarter he risked to get badly burned, which was stupid when a he had a simple plan to avoid it. He unholstered his aluminium revolver and shooted at the Radiant who hadn't move, confident in his healing abilities. NullBlade wasn't a very good shoot so he 'only' hit the shoulder, not an instantly deadly wound but still one that would kill in at most a few hours without appropriate treatment, and definitely enough for the Pulser to panic when he realized it was aluminium, dropping his bubble and running. NullBlade was close enough from the border of the Slider's bubble he didn't feel the need to stop burning aluminium, while the side-effects of not burning metal were not as acute for gnats as they for tugs or tineyes it was still distressing, a bit like being naked in public if every pebble was replaced by a camera. So he'd walk in normal speed and not in accelerated speed, it'd probably give the women an idea off what his power was but he'd asked to go back in Pulser time so that was already out of the window. He found the Pulser running toward a corner of the room and not toward the tunnel like he'd expected, as if there was something there that scared him more than being shot. The Pulser raised his bubble again as NullBlade raised his gun toward him, he then created a disc of fire inside the bubble. How cute, he thought that would stopped him. NullBlade ran toward the man, when he entered the bubble he felt a cold despite the fire. His immunity to the time speed change also changed the temperature he felt, WayMaker had tried explaining it to him but he stopped understanding when she'd divided twenty-five by four and obtained minus two hundred, Peres had teased him about that for weeks. Anyway, as long he was in the bubble he'd move five time as fast as any other person inside, they would feel five time heavier to him but his Shardblade didn't care, and she was five time heavier as well anyway. NullBlade killed both of the Pulser's legs before he could realise anything was happening, the shock made him drop his bubble and the flames dispersed as all of his stormlight was consumed to heal his legs, which it couldn't do completely, stopping a bit before the knees. NullBlade placed the tip of his blade on the man's chest "Last chance." @Random Bystander@Ashbringer

So apparently they were still going to the hospital despite the probability of finding anything there being abysmal. They thought an abysmal probability was better than nothing, he guessed. "We cannot make illusions stick to Shardplates, too invested. As for picking up helpers, maybe we could ask the Ghostbloods? They're assassins so I guess sneaking in an hospital should not be above their abilities." @Ashbringer@Rushu42
