Kelsier's smile pointed at Adilie actually scared her enough enough she dropped her usual detached expression, replaced with a more transparent terrified one. She had expected the Survivor to have recognized her origins immediately -small people with relatively dark skins effectively didn't exist on Scadrial. But no he had not he was interested in her, which could be good or bad, but was anyway terrifying. "My grandparent were... immigrants of some sort, and my grandmother loved talking about ghosts" That and they had taken her to their birth world when she was ten to see if she had the gift of their people -she had not, and if you didn't meet any spren during that travel you were doing something wrong.

"Wait, that's the theory that's true?" Many theories had been made to explain how the Survivor could have, well, survived being stabbed by the Lord Ruler's spear. One of them was 'he died and and been replaced by a cognitive shadow, Adilie had never liked that theory because 'most of the population are worshipping a piece of power believing to be Kelsier' was too dark of a joke, even for her. And of course it was the true one. "So... you're actually a spren? Of Ruin or Preservation?"

Pushing yes, not forcing. He forced once, when he thought she was ready to accept having killed her mother, and it almost destroyed her. Yes every author, Brandon included, add things that were not there from the start in the story, for example at some point he mentioned he hadn't decided who were the Truthwatchers spren. But Shallan's storyline is uncovering a mystery story and when you do one of those you must define the big mystery from the start.

Windrunners have never used adhesion to it's full potential, they should be able to control the wind with it.

"Nervous laughter. She's trying to fight today's weirdeness with laughter. And yes the person you refuse to acknowledge is probably double-steel" more likely double-everything "so he could easily pass as a ghost"

In Oathbringer Syl acted as a translator in Shadesmare and in WoR Pattern had to translate from stick to Shallan

[Theory] Taln Wasn't the Herald Who Broke; It Was Chanarach
mathiau replied to teknopathetic's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I'm not sure if you notice but the other Heralds didn't realize Ishi's insanely obvious insanity. Ishar's madness is definitely a new development, Kelek mentioned Shalash was getting worse and he though he, and probably every Herald, was getting worse but it's not what I'm talking about The madness, not the pain. The nine, not the ten. Moelarch sees the future, why would this one be about Taln? Note that neither Ash nor Nale seemed affected by Radiants swearing oaths near them, contrary to both Ishar and Taln which implies their madness is more magical than the others'. I think when Taln went back to Roshar (in late 1173), or maybe when the Everstorm came, Odium stopped sending the full amount of madness to Taln and sent nine tenth to the Herald he was the most linked to, Ishar. Seems pretty normal to me Shallan once turned a table green while thinking about flowers, maybe she turned the carpet red by thinking of blood? Also, remember how Wit insisted to Shallan you should never trust someone claiming to know the future? If this theory is true then "spren bounding radiants will bring a Devastation" is only true because someone said it would happen that way. -

Also Ishi would have told them from the start if that would do anything -
Folorian knew Alanis well enough to recognize whether a pause was natural or not, and this one was not. She had been about to say something else, 'I don't know if we can do it' perhaps? Well she hadn't say it for a reason so he wasn't going to pry. "We've already been attacked, we're part of this war whatever we do. And while I'm not completely against keeping the world depending on what was changed and why, but right now it is obviously not working properly so we have to do something, be it undo it of fix it."

Wait hadn't Ladashwy made a panic attack after that attack? Bummer "Yes, let's talk about something else. Sorry"

Was he trying to see if he could recruit her or something? Well he could always try, both gods of this planet were jokes and he was definitely the worse one "I had a bad first day if I'm being honest."

NullBlade followed Zaria "A girl that almost got killed in the explosion talked about 'a deal that went wrong' so you're probably onto something with the turf war." He eyed a corpse on the ground "And a guild using metallurgy to enhance it's guard, even a minor one like the heaven, is... worrying, to say the least" @Ashbringer@Random Bystander

dawnshard Let's make groups of four, RoW edition
mathiau replied to mathiau's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Indeed it doesn't, only the "Unite them" that the Stormfather don't hear would be from the Dawnshard and we don't know if Galivar ever heard them, and even if he did we know you can feel the call of a Dawnshard before obtaining it and it's likely someone invested will hear it more distinctly, probably up to actually hearing it's name. It's possible but the "I'm Unity" feels insanely similar to the sleepless tell Rysn that she's change. Persist doesn't realy work as a "Dawnshard known to bind any creature voidish or mortal". And why would it include Unite? I don't think the Dawnshard are in opposite to each other any more than the Shards are, more in complementarity. -

So Shoggoths were reals too? This was getting more insane with every passing seconds. Folorian checked if Poller was hurt, he only seemed to have a light bruise from falling. "Aln, if you needed a proof you being mad was not the scariest option, here's one." @Rushu42

The idea of that theory was they didn't move her and made protections for her gemstone at the same place they captured her And possibly to punish her for acting like a God

Adillie walked into the room the others were eating, well had eaten they seemed nearly finished. There was a man with them that kind of fitted the descriptions of the Survivor "Hello, I assume you're Eryn's friend?" @Kingsdaughter613

When we asked Bradon how Shallan had had a blade before her first truth and he answered she had said more truth before but had regressed. We were wondering what regressing could mean, when Kal regressed in his oaths it had killed Syl, why had it not kill Pattern? Now we know.
