  1. Lashing armor would take a lot of Stormlight.
  2. The people of Roshar are more Invested than average because of the ambient Investiture of Roshar. That could change with the ending of the Highstorm, but I doubt Retribution wants to cripple his world so badly, so I’d guess that either the presence of Warlight spheres or the Everstorm itself will maintain that invested state. Considering that Retribution also wants the Singers to be able to take forms, I’ll guess that creatures needing Highstorms to bond spren can probably do so in the Everstorm.
  3. “So he is real? Some locals I met claimed to know him. They… also warned us against travelling into these forests.” Palsu looked down, blinking tears from his blue eyes. “We should have listened.” “Yeah. Some are pretty nice, like Sequence, some have hero complexes like Platypus, some are downright evil, some are playful, and some are… callous.” The woman’s smile widens “A prospective apprentice who failed my test. Here is my offer: give me the souls of half of your subjects and in return I will equip your forces with weapons that will destroy any army. With those Blades, you will surely usher in an era of peace and prosperity.” She spread her arms to the sides. “What say you?” The air of the courtroom was thick with suspense as the Honest Judge continued. “Defense, how do you plead?” — “What? It did?” Subversion frowned. “That’s unfortunate. I promised Nogard I would be there. Oh well.” She shrugged as if it was of no importance, but her shoulders slumped as she turned back toward the guest room. “Put me in for the first possible appointment. Maybe I can catch the tail end of the trial at least.” “I don’t really know him.” Subversion said as she walked back to the guest room. “Can’t remember if I’ve had any interactions with him or not. Splitting your soul can have weird interactions with memories. But he’s interacted with Moni, so I know some things about him.”
  4. I think the Rosharan’s more invested souls would prevent it from spreading too rampantly. There’s a reason they don’t have smallpox on their homewold.
  5. The woman cackles some more. “I am not. Although you could say that he and I are associates. However, his methods are… lacking.” She bares her teeth, revealing a smile missing more than a few teeth. “He uses only part of his subject’s soul, and personalizes his weapons far too much. My methods are much simpler and much more effective. One soul, one blade.” “I… will.” Palsu seems to relax, exhaling. “So how are we going to get out? That woman over there mentioned something about the ruler of this place?”
  6. Palsu shivered. "I don't know his name. He didn't tell us. He's been our... my employer for a long time. If you want to call it that." He laughed wryly. "Forces us all to to horribly dangerous things under threat of agonizing death."
  7. "So you won't be able to use it to get me out?" Palsu sighed. "Ah well. I guess I can travel with you to the other exit." "We met a new person and found shelter." Moni frowned at Faunus, then leaned over to Kion. "What kind of Narrator is she?" She whispered. @Dragonheir "Ah, I see you are a man of wisdom. You trust not in mere words." The woman cackles, reaching into her cloak. "Worry not. I do not bring you words, but proof as well." She pulled forth a sheathed sword and threw it to the ground in front of the Emperor's throne. "Here. See my work for yourself." "Very well." The Wise Judge pulled forth a scroll sealed with the signet of the Brave Adventurer. "Here are the charges against the Great Wizard. Who stands to read them?" For an extended moment, nobody moved. Then, slowly, the Valiant One stood. He walked slowly across the table to the Wise Judge and took the scroll carefully. "I will read the charges." His voice was firm, but his hands trembled slightly as he unrolled the scroll carefully. "The charges against the Great Wizard are as follows:" The Valiant One cleared his throat, then continued. "Conspiracy against the best interests of the Order of the Brave Adventurers. Spying on secret matters of the Adventurers. Resisting arrest. Murder of brave adventurers." The Valiant One's voice faltered and he stared at the scroll, conflict running across his face. Then he gritted his teeth, murmured something that could have been a curse or a prayer, and continued. "Last of all, you are charged with conspiracy to claim the two most dangerous Plotblades for your own personal gain. The Plotblades of Antagonist and Protagonist." Description of the courtroom that I forgot to include last post: @Ookla the Arbiter @Halcyon The Only@sarcasm spren@SpiritOfWrath @Everyone I forgot "656 you say? Have you met Survivor 655 by any chance? He was..." A beeping sound interrupted Subversion. She frowned, pulling out her checklist. One of the items was flashing red. "Oh dear. I'm missing the trial! See you later, but I've got to go!" She hurried from the room, running back to the welcome desk. "Excuse me, but I have to leave. Very important trial that I'm supposed to be attending, you see. I'll be back as soon as it's over, but for now I must be going. I don't suppose you'd let me use Narration to get there faster?"
  8. "I make them, mighty one. I have considerable skill in the crafting of weapons. My blades will cleave the souls of your enemies asunder." "I'm... not like most of 'my kind'. I was created because Subversion wanted to find a reason to care for people. Others have different priorities."
  9. One day later, in the great courtroom of the Brave Adventurers... The trial of the Great Wizard was at hand. All of those who signed their names on Sequence's hijacked invitations were teleported to the stands to observe, and anyone else who wished to come was welcome. @Ookla the Arbiter @Ookla the Dragonslayer @OOKLA the strange @oOklA thE shInyYyy @Ookla the Inquisitive @Ookla the Cookie Collector @Ookla the Irreplaceable @Through The Living Glass @Ookla of the Shadows @Ookla the Pancake @Everyone Summary of what this is in case you've forgotten/don't know: A hush spread over the watching crowd as the Great Wizard was led into the room, hands chained with glowing lines of magic, two dozen guards surrounding him. The imprisoned old man walked slowly to the Chair of the Accused, where he was locked in place with enchanted chains. Before him sat the council of the Brave Adventurers. The General, an imposing Ghanderflaffle wearing full ceremonial armor. The Valiant One, a young man who glared at the Great Wizard with the anger of one who has been betrayed. The Unseeable Thief, glancing from side to side as if expecting an attack at any moment. The Wise Scholar, head bowed. The Ancient Flaffle, a grandmotherly Ghanderflaffle in a simple brown dress. The Silent Hero, an impassive, implacable man who stared at the prisoner with an unreadable face. The Wise Judge, a thin man with round glasses and thin gray hair, wearing the robes of his station. And the Brave Adventurer, a short man with perfectly groomed blond hair dressed in a black suit. He sat polishing his iridescent pocketwatch, face filled with self-satisfaction. The Wise Judge stood up, gripping his gavel tightly. "Are both sides prepared to make arguments? Who stands to accuse the defendant?" An adventurer rose from a table beside the Chair of the Accused. "I am, your Honor. We are ready for the trial to begin." "Very well. And the defense?" The Wise Judge turned his gaze to the table of the defense. "That's us." ... whispered to Selppaenip. "Stand and acknowledge that you are the defense and that we are ready for the trial to begin." "I see." Mist swirled around the Emperor, and he was sitting on his throne, Omen nowhere to be seen. Before him knelt a cloaked woman. "Mighty Emperor, I have come to offer my aid to you in the coming conflict. I can equip your army with mighty weapons that will destroy your enemies." "What do you care about?"
  10. "Don't you have the key? Can that not make a way out of here?" "And what would you be willing to do in order to prevent this future? What sacrifices will you make in order to defeat the Maelstrom and save your people?" -- The traveler walks up to the ethereal communication device and powers it on. Hopefully Tam and Bacon don't notice that I snuck away. She thought to herself. Maybe the villains of TLT will have an answer that the heroic and neutral characters don't. "Hello, is this Xal'Badreal? I want to talk to you."
  11. No, the abbreviation of girlfriend is gf, and the Judge originally added factor on the end. Moni frowned. “Through that exit guarded by the ruler of this place?”
  12. “Thank you for helping me.” Palsu shivered. “I was sent here by a Narrator. We were researchers. I… just want to go home.” Subversion grinned. “Signed a contract that deals away my powers. For safety or some such nonsense.” She flipped her hair back over her shoulder carelessly. “What was your name again?” — The Wise Judge set down his reports. “ABF is Authorial business factor. AGFM is Author’s girlfriend’s motivation factor.”
  13. “Would you be content knowing that the Narrators and Withergeists that were strong enough to survive your attack destroyed your Empire and all in it while your forces fought Xal’Badreal?” A vision of the Empire appeared before the Emperor. The Enpire burning, beset by forces too great to withstand. “The demons of the Maelstrom may have been defeated in this possibility, but your people died with them. And more, many more, would die before the remnants were done.”
  14. “You have not yet failed this trial.” Omen was in his normal misty form, his voice void of emotion. “Tell me Emperor. If this battle were to be fate, would you be content with the result?”
  15. The landscape around the Emperor faded into mist, and he found himself standing beside Omen. “Well, you certainly have a penchant for the dramatic.”
  16. The Wise Judge looks down at it. “Ah. Well, the AB factor will be quite low. Perhaps the AGFM factor will be high too, although it’s hard to say.
  17. “I don’t know. A few of them approached in the form of shadows, we didn’t see them until they were on us. Me and Tald got away. But that night…” Palsu’s eyes took on a haunted look. “They called in the voices of our friends. Tald ran ahead of me and they- they-“ he looked down. “I ran. Found this cave, and hid in it. I’ve been here for… three days now? I’m almost out of supplies.” Subversion sent a return letter. Plotblade are normally found on quests, and there are other malevolent entities such as the denizens of the Maelstrom or some Narrators that are particularly nasty, but the Witherlord is, in my mind at least, the preeminent evil of the Thread. And don’t worry about compensation. As the battle continues, the Emperor’s forces begin pushing back the forces of chaos. Soon the Beast is among the last standing. Oddly, despite the terrible odds against him, he laughs. “You have lost, little Emperor.“ “Indeed!” Subversion smiles broadly. “Don’t worry, I’m safe. What are you here for?” “Very well. I shall finalize the preparations for the trial. We can set the date to… later today, perhaps? We’ll have to see how the ABF affects things.”
  18. Probably because most ancient Radiants haven’t been connected to their real counterparts like Dalinar did.
  19. “If you say so. Palsu, is this cave safe?” Palsu shrugged. “I ran here while they…” he shuddered. “They didn’t chase me. There’s nothing back there but bones.”
  20. "I... I'm called Palsu" The figure stepped into the light, revealing a man with brilliant golden eyes and shoulder length red hair. He held a chipped spear in trembling hands and wore a ragged grey coat marked with a silver wolf on the right shoulder. His boots and trousers were stained with dried blood. "You're really not Faceless?" Palsu nodded hesitantly. "I guess so." Moni stepped up next to Kion and Perseus. "Are we sure this guy's not a Faceless?" -- A return letter appears next to Rebus.
  21. Subversion regarded the mega-puzzle with satisfaction. “Hello there. Are you a Narrator too?” The Wise Judge looked up, straightening his glasses. “Yes?” “Faceless killed everyone I came here with.” The shadowed figure’s voice trembled faintly. “I don’t know much about them, but I know that you’ll kill me in an eyeblink.”
  22. Sigzil was using a Shardspear and has a lot more mass than a bullet. I’d say the Focused Ones are still safely bullet-resistant.
  23. Assuming that the room temperature of the earth was below 0 degrees Celsius, then the base state of water would be ice, a solid that is not wet unless melted. Can we then say that because ice is not wet, water is not wet?
