  1. Shallan blushed as she realized Adolin was shirtless. Adolin looked down. He saw Shallan's eyes darting around his body as he stood there in a loose tank top. "Sorry," Adolin said. "It's okay. I'm just glad you were able to come. It's been too long." She stared at him for a few seconds and finally asked, "Did you get anything for your date?" Adolin laughed. "I got to go home and change." Adolin felt a surge of excitement in his chest. This could really be the beginning of something. He had a friend who he could tell he was really going to care about. He could tell the people who would see him for who he truly was, who would know how much he loved him and how much he cared about him. Adolin thought about how great it would be to be able to share all of that with a woman he cared about. I was expecting that to come out far more... racier
  2. @Ixthos, the Nexuses as Shadesmar representations of the moons? Love it! It finally gives some function to them, they've been bothering me for a while. I think the sun in the Cognitive as a representation of the Spiritual Realm is the most likely to be correct theory. They/It have/has been consistently described in the same manner (not as bright or warm as the Physical sun) and Khriss does use the metaphor of light source, light ray, where the light pools to explain the Three Realms. When I saw the title of the topic, I thought you wanted to shove a celestial body into the Cognitive Realm. I wonder what would happen to a planet's inhabitants if a planet is shoved into the Cognitive Realm. Or to Cognitive entities like spren if we shove a star... or a black hole! into the Cognitive Realm
  3. Truthwatchers do see something, it's in their name! That WoB people use to connect Renarin to Voidbinding is much more open to interpretation. Brandon was asked about Renarin's visions, and he pointed to the chart. I don't think the connection would be as overt as him using one Void Surge and one normal Surge. I've always wondered why Cultivation wouldn't give futuresight, she is supposed to be good at it. Futuresight sounds like something that could happen as an interaction of the Truthwatcher Surges, as Illumination of Progression. I had never considered the Surge × Void wordplay... I'd connected Void as referring to the hole in the Spiritweb that allows Odium in. Intriguing idea though.
  4. "The Sun was the Sand Lord's eye", plus Sand Mastery works anywhere where the star's light can reach the sand. Bavadin is known to use Avatars. It is a theory, one which is plausible, considering the information available, till a better one can be made. Edit: This theory by @Gilphon for how Autonomy creates her Avatars is quite good!
  5. The source of Sand Mastery's Investiture is the Dayside blue giant, so I think Bavadin or at least the most significant portion of Autonomy is on that sun. As the Sand Lord, he is said to allow "Coexistant Contradiction, both light and dark", so the theory of the moon reflecting Autonomy's Investiture to Darkside, though most likely correct, isn't necessary as it still allows for Autonomy to inhabit the white dwarf. Given the faces (plural, different looking) on the clouds in the GN and Sand Mastery's relationship as water forming a temporary bond, I think those too are Avatars of Autonomy.
  6. I don't think I want to know anymore...
  7. If this thread functioned like The Nightwatcher thread... I wish for the next person to change their username to Moash Bam! Insta-win! Also can anyone answer what the storms Ookla means?
  8. I like this theory, @KandraAllomancer! Though I don't really want more Kholin Radiants and Adolin is such a great character as he is. It would be interesting to see him develop without him developing a Nahel Bond. I don't like the idea of him Bonding Maya either, reviving her, maybe. These spren are called dead, revivals here might not only undermine the narrative weight of the permanence of death but also resolve a lot of tensions that Ashspren and Stoneward spren in particular have against humans for the Recreance. I wouldn't want it to be that easy. I like the idea that both of them are spren that might Bond to the Herald narrators. Stoneward for Taln and Dustbringer for Ash (since Lightweaver is already taken). I think Cultivation's magic might be artificial bindings of the Ten Surges, not just fabrials, it fits with Cultivation's Intent.
  9. Or a great second arc
  10. The Stormfather was created by Adonalsium. He is a natural and integral part of Roshar's ecology, not just for precipitation but also distributing crem, which doesn't just provide nutrition but also deposits itself to ensure that the continent continues to exist since Roshar doesn't have plate tectonics. He also distributed a form of Stormlight even before the arrival of Honor. Since The Stormfather considers both The Nightwatcher and The Sibling as his siblings and counterparts, it seems highly likely that they were created by Adonalsium too.
  11. That's my fav Wayne quote/joke too Alongside the comment about old people having the most experience not dying Also this: i just like insightful Wayne more than I like funny Wayne, I guess

Check out the SCP Foundation videos on YouTube, a channel called 'Life's Biggest Questions' have a good series about them.

The original docs can be a bit hard to get into without knowing what they are.

      I will check it out

      sounds interesting

  13. I've been putting that forward for a long time now! Love the theory, @Ixthos! It really fits with them being compared with Bondsmiths in the Surgebinding chart too, and their glyph looking very Cultivation-y.
  14. To launch it back off I wish for the ability to have 360° vision
  15. Hoid. Right now he reads too much like what fanfic authors call a self-insert character. Hopefully he'll get more characterization in future Stormlight books, he seems more invested (no pun intended) on Roshar. His story better be epic to have gotten him where he is, and while I wouldn't mind an ignoble end or "living long enough see yourself become the villain" end (I'd actually like this one) or failing whatever his mission is. He's been given far too much importance for his conclusion (whatever it might be) to be inconsequential, I'd be very unsatisfied if that happens.
  16. Adonalsium wasn't one-of-a-kind. The Cosmere is one small star cluster. There are other galaxies, galaxy clusters, galaxy superclusters. There are other such beings. So, Rayse? Good luck being "top dog"
  17. So we've been told that Feruchemy is of both Preservation and Ruin. Allomancy preserves the Allomancer, allowing them to burn metals which act as keys to Preservation's power Hemalurgy allows one to steal attributes. Ruin's Investiture steals part of the Spiritweb from the... donor, keyed to both the metal used and specific bindpoints and grafts it on to the recipient's soul, while ensuring that the spikes being driven through their body itself doesn't end up killing the recipient. Feruchemy allows one to store an attribute and tap or access it later. It is end-neutral, the Feruchemist doesn't gain or lose their attributes, making it of Preservation. In order to tap the attribute later, the attribute being stored deteriorates, making it of Ruin. My question is: how can it also be of Ruin? Doesn't giving his own Investiture go against his Intent?
  18. The Nightwatcher kills you, so now you want for nothing I wish for the ability to summon refreshing fruity beverages
  19. That's both Tension and Adhesion, I think, in their Spiritual aspects. He used Spiritual Tension to sense that the wall wanted to be whole again and used Spiritual Adhesion to stick them back together. Brandon has explained Tension (the Stoneward Surge) as being used to alter stiffness, to make structures stronger or harder
  20. To add to what Gilphon said, he also cheered up Kaladin, Wandersail, remember?
  21. It seems we're at an impasse then, so @Karger, @The traveller, @Invocation, @Sorana, @I Rashek, @I think I am here., @The Awakened Salad thoughts? @AonEne, please add @The Awakened Salad's character to the list of active RP characters
