  1. Singers can perceive spren better than humans though. It isn't a clear line of you either see it or don't. Some spren are better at hiding, some are more in the Physical, etc. And yes, there are multiple pools. They are all Cultivation's Perpendicularities. Brandon has said that a Shard can have multiple Shardpools
  2. The Unkalaki certainly are different. They can see spren. Though that might be their Singer ancestry. @InvocationSigzil did present the rumours that the Unkalaki just shoot any outsiders that take a dip in the Ocean (that's their word for the pools). Or maybe the Horneaters just see a person submerging themselves into a body of water and disappearing, they might've assumed they drowned. The Elantrians also thought that Devotion's Pool could kill Elantrians rather than transporting them into the Cognitive (where they might yet die, confronted with the horrible churning plasma Investiture storm of the Dor)
  3. She would be, wouldn't she? That might be part of what is happening on Patji...
  4. We don't know how a Shardpool is used to Worldhop, aside from that every instance seems to indicate you have to submerge yourself, beyond that it requires some Realmatic knowledge to do so. Presumably, one can use a Shard River to Worldhop in the same manner as a Shardpool, by submerging oneself
  5. Less Worldhoppers from Sel, as it turns out. I didn't factor in the Dor, which is a giant storm of churning plasma Investiture The lighthouse keeper survived though, so others may have managed as well, just not as many as I had originally thought
  6. Investiture, like matter, can appear in solid, liquid or gaseous state (and plasma too: the Dor, don't know if it can take a form like Bose-Einstein Condensate). Liquid Investiture pools together when a highly Invested object like a Shard spends a lot of time on a planet. This forms what Sharders (it's not a in-book term) call a 'Shardpool'. A Shardpool can be used by Worldhoppers to access a Shardworld via the Cognitive Realm. Shardpools aren't the only form a Perpendicularity can take however, nor are pools the only form a liquid can take. So can there be Shard Rivers and Shardbrooks? We know liquid Investiture can be taken away from the pool so liquid Investiture doesn't just seem liquid, it is liquid. Can these Shard Rivers be used to Worldhop? What about a small, narrow, shallow brook? I believe that the latter cannot be used to Worldhop since one would need enough volume of liquid Investiture to be able to submerge themselves in order to do that.
  7. I don't follow it seriously either, it's still fun though I believe you, you're welcome!
  8. Well, you can cut the 'slow' part out of your name, that was fast! Beta Centauri is a star system though but Alpha and Proximima together make up a binary system and both were mentioned, so I'm counting it. good job!
  9. Oh no... Luna One of those two better not be your own Zodiac sign!
  10. Hahahaha! No. The Zodiacs alone make 12
  11. I have no idea who that is. I think we skipped over him in history class So, I get to choose the next question? Name 10 stars (the astronomical kind, not the Hollywood kind)
  12. I want to change my username. I've already used up "on my honor" twice, (my username is or was Honorless), so now I want another punny username, ideas?

Ooooooooo finally someone Else who loves creepypasta. U got any recs for those bruh.

      These are mine

      https://www.inverse.com/amp/article/47143-most-terrifying-creepypasta-nosleep-stories

Infected town or the mold series is my favorite. Fractionally cause it introduced to me to lovecrafts despair in the most badass manner ever.

The spire in the woods has that amazing new England Stephan king feel without being boring or anticlimactic as most of his novels are. I found the ending to be the among the most heartbreaking stuff i have ever read .

Borrasca doesn't make much sense when u think of it but still shatters ur heart

The left/right Game was good too even if the ending only half lived.

      Search and rescue wae amazing

The new fish gets that stephen king feel too but a very different kind

Room 733 was good too. The emotional investment in the charecters makes the slightly predictable plot touching all the same

        No end house   was amazing

A Story to Scare My Son   is just ooooo its something

Psychosis and the Russian sleep experiment. Woah. Among my first creepypasta actually. I was sold after them.

Tales from the gas station shouldn't really classify as a creepypasta. Its more "John Wong trilogy " than actually horror but kek. It was fun.

      The Wolfnexus stories are gold.

My own finds were the house that Time forgot , Persuaded, anna petrova, Annie96 is typing , the yellow wallpaper ( not a creepypasta by definition but i read it on a creepypasta website ), The flesh interfaces , wow i couldn't finish them, they were that depressing. Esp knowing a lot pf it happened irl.

The SCP foundation is great , there's just so many of em and so many key words are [REDACTED BY ORDER OF THE O5 COUNCIL ]. It's way too technical for my taste too but i google some every now and then. My favorite ones about the butler.

This one is so subtle. I had to read it twice before getting it.

      And of course the micropastas.

And so much more. I found so many new highly recommended ones while researching this answer alone

My fav SCP are the Doctor Who Weeping Angel statues' (possible) inspiration

      They are great

(Plus such debates: Who would win?)

      Friendshipspren

Hmm I will check that out. I've seen a few of the debates on YouTube and thr Butler guy scp was asked if he would be able to beat scp-682 , like it's a crocodile like immortal monster . I think he answered no or something

  13. Well, we don't know for sure, in Vivenna's and Siri's musings Hallandren treats Returned the best and Idris is not the worst. That's a RAFO, lol but that is what Rayas would love very, very much to happen I don't intend to put the Returned into any position where they can leverage that power anyway. They'll be in Idris not Hallandren. I just realized Rayas sounds like Rayse... but it's supposed to be closer to my name, containing 'Aya', which I fancy sounds a bit like an Aon I'm not a Worldhopper though, don't worry
  14. I only found two others: One confirming that what is visible from all these planets is the same patch of stars The other stating that the Red Rip isn't connected to the red haze over Scadrial in era 2
  15. Haha! I know this one! Augustus (Octavius) was adopted by Caesar, and his heirs, in turn were also adopted, including Tiberius The evil emperor Nero and the hedonistic emperor Caligula were also on this list These are all the Roman Emperors I know aside from Constantine and Diocletian (palace in Split, Croatia, thanks Riordan!)
  16. Welcome to the Shard, @SgxJames29!
  17. They still have the same Shardic Intent and are confirmed not to be a hivemind. Judging by the OB epigraph letter from Patji, the Avatars are not directly controlled, they seem to act autonomously from one another but also form one whole something and meddle with one another since Patji mentioned "we" and molding the guardian of Obrodai. Controlling Patji might go against Autonomy's Intent and in Patji also mentions that they don't all hold the same views: "Perhaps if you had approached the correct one of us with your plea, it would have found favorable audience". Different interpretations of Autonomy perhaps like the divine attributes of the Heralds and Radiant Orders. Their overarching Shardic Intent should still remain the same, I think.
  18. True, but then again technically all stars are more white than anything, be they red dwarfs or blue giants, and it all takes specialized equipment to observe them. I do like the idea of these sections of stars to be old red dwarfs too. That definitely fits Yolen as the origin point. Hmm... Threnody's star is a red dwarf too (but separate from the Rip)
  19. Yup, I know
  20. I thought of Investiture as one thing, with Shardic Intent acting as a filter as to how it can affect the other Realms as well as the other Spiritual Attributes. I don't think what Nightblood is requires anything of Ruin, just some Realmatic mechanics that turned him into an Investiture sink. Hmm, that doesn't really hurdle your theory though, that would still make him of Ruin. I wonder what Endowment thought of him? How Cultivation and Odium think of him? And how Harmony might react to him? Do we have any scenes or WoBs of the former, aside from Nightwatcher offering Nightblood to Dalinar or Odium noticing Nightblood in Thaylenah? Nightblood is Commanded to "Destroy Evil". He doesn't understand what the latter is, he does understand the former though... I like this theory though (though I'd still not want Nightblood to visit Scadrial, that one newspaper clipping almost gave me a heart attack, seeing him in WoR was even more shocking) What about the other option, collecting the Investiture affiliated with one Intent? Also could someone at least become a Sliver in this manner, I wonder? Edit: the newspaper clipping I mentioned can be found in The New Ascendancy broadsheet "Do your metal tools speak to you?", right above the cartoon section
  21. Good news, went and checked for WoBs and only found WoB that Odium hasn't left any of his Investiture on Sel, whether he left any on Threnody got a non-committal response
  22. I may ship it.....
  23. Maybe very complex commands are now possible and there are national treasuries of Breath; entire civilizations and technological marvels fuelled by Breath. After all, Awakening is the most unrestricted Investiture system we've seen so far: an Awakener could easily Command a machine to have pertual movement, which could be used to generate energy, that could be used to fuel spaceships. Higher Heightenings can grant immortality but that wouldn't be too widespread, so I don't know what they're going to do about the long, long, long travel through interstellar space.
