  1. Pattern probably, Syl depends if she's "toggled on" to be visible to everyone and so on. We don't know the particle physics of the 3 Realms so we'll have go along with conventional wisdom. Invisible to people is probably invisible to most devices, partially visible (to a select no. of people might be detectable by some devices, visible would be detectable. These questions might get answered when we move to space age but then again with Investiture, their tech base might be too different from ours to make accurate deductions off of them.
  2. The commentary was hilarious, lol. Ah, I remember when I was first reading Way of Kings and furiously jotting down the Bridgemen names/descriptors because somebody has to remember them, dammit!
  3. Ooh, I liked that style, have you considered doing broader Roshar scenery pieces? I think those would sound really good in this style.
  4. That looks really cool, @Selesria!
  5. He looks really cute!
  6. Spren in Shardblade forms also communicate telepathically. The Aviar are described to be capable of forging temporary weaker Bonds which is what allows them to shield minds or show possible deaths to their humans, I'm guessing Nightblood is also capable of forging a temporary weak Bond of some kind with nearby humans, it would also explain how he could tempt some people with itself and make them kill others and themselves if he sees them as evil, for instance this is what Nightblood does in the opening scene of Warbreaker.
  7. Some theme songs for the boys A positive "boys will be boys" song! Alongside "I was busy thinking about- Boys"
  8. Welcome back!
  9. Welcome to the Shard! We'd love to see your cosplay pics if you'd like to share them
  10. Presumably, yes
  11. Have you read the comics version, @Hoid the Drifter?
  12. People can be stupid regarding long-term vs short-term sometimes
  13. @Doomstick, did you forget about this again? Don't leave us hanging
  14. Judging by the comments made by Syl, Pattern and that Cultivationspren at Celebrant, yes, Odium threatened Shadesmar as well. Not to mention Shadesmar's continued existence is dependent on Roshar's continued existence, it's formed by the collective consciousness of Roshar's inhabitants after all
  15. I think that the restored Connection, in the case of the newly awakened post-Everstorm Parshendi allowed them to speak the language of their homeland, not all Rosharan languages. As for the Fused, half of them are crazy and the rest rarely deign to speak, as Kaladin puts it, so it's difficult to tell what's happening.

      Truthless of Shinovar

Heyyy, in the top five, I can’t complain about that!

      Oh, and congratulations!

    3. The Awakened Salad
  17. 1) this place had a hand in starting a coup d'état 2) This place bears some geographical resemblance to another place in the Cosmere which also had a coup 3) this place is situated in the south of its parent nation 4) this place is connected to magic 5) this place is extremely plot-relevant
  18. Wasn't that the point of Envoyform? She could speak all of the languages that the Parshendi she needed to act as an envoy towards required her to in order to effectively communicate with them, presumably via temporary Connections.
  19. No double-posting, remember? Just click edit, then copy-paste it to your previous post and hide this one Thanks for the clarifications! I'll reread that chapter when the book comes out and look up axi on the Coppermind and Arcanum tomorrow, gn
  20. If I recall correctly, that's the Cosmere term for atoms, so I started thinking fabrials use quantum entanglement?! Also, the word was "insulator", thanks Google and the other Surge is called the strong axial interconnection: sounds like Strong Nuclear Force but doesn't seem like the same thing
  21. Oops, as I mentioned on the other thread, I just skimmed over the technobabble regarding the bridge so I totally forgot that they used aluminium, I only remembered that they needed a large number of chulls over on Narak to operate the bridge and that Navani is using the same principles from the archerstand in OB and spanreed, I just got the basic gist In Ch 11, we see that they know iron pulls (attractor fabrials), they know there should be a repeller fabrial, but presumably don't know how to go about it. If they don't know steel, they might indeed not know copper. So they haven't quite figured out the elemental metal-alloy connection, in the sense of Allomantic pairings, I'm not saying that the Rosharans are unaware of the element or compound's existence. Navani makes it clear in the Rhythm of War part 1 epigraphs that fabrial science advances are treated as state secrets so some fabrial science methods may even be lost, like the half-Shard shields and bows from Jah Keved, after the development of which King Hanavanar and a no. of his Highprinces were assassinated by Szeth and then a civil war started.
  22. Probably the same way that the newly awakened post-Everstorm Parshendi from Alethkar are speaking modern Alethi, as well as Worldhoppers like Hoid: Connection, that's how Dalinar could speak Azish as well as the Azish, or the Azish Parshendi who sued the government
